Times for some thoughts and prayers.

Poor #IDF soldiers, they are used to shoot unarmed Palestinians children from 100m away when hiding behind hill and barbed wired fences.

And these are the guys who want the take on #Hezbollah and #Iran?

107 days of bombings, close to 35000 dead and missing, 70% of them women and children and palestinians are able to ambush and kill a huge group of heavily armed Israeli soldiers deep inside the devastated Khan Yunis.

Israel haa been performin airstrike on Aitaroun, and other villages in south of Lebanon all day today.

After the colossal failure in Gaza to contain Hamas and killing 10s of thousands of innocent Palestinians, Israel is now hellbent into getting into fight with Hezbollah, a group much much stronger and armed as well as war savvy than Hamas could ever be.

I'm sure Israel has been saving huge amount of amo, tanks and personel for destroying Lebanon the same way they destroyed Gaza with unimaginable consequences for civilians in Lebanon and Israel as the result.

But #Netanyahu and his fascist coalition government must be stopped before it's too late.

An attack against Lebanon has the risk of throwing the firecracker into a region covered with explosives.

The #Israeli military carried mock attacks against Lebanese capitals Beirut and Tripoli, deploying flares over both Lebanese capitals.

This is a show of force against defenseless Lebanon and a ln example of what IDF going to do in the coming days.

Israeli government have ordered the schools in the border city of #Sderot to close for several weeks starting from February. This could be an indication of #Israel plans to attack #Lebanon in the coming weeks.

The jet and UAV activities are ongoing.

Right wing groups going bat shit crazy about their lifelong dream of getting US to engage Iran militarily on all fronts

This is a post from a right wing military centric group:

First map shows the Middle East conflict described by the Pentagon: contained in Gaza—no wider regional war.

The second shows what's played out as Iran + proxies drive a dangerous cycle of escalation, including a large attack today on U.S. forces.

In the past week, since the U.S. & U.K. launched retaliatory strikes against the Houthis in Yemen:
]
- On 11 Jan, U.S., U.K., & Allies conducted large-scale strikes against 60+ Houthi targets at 28 locations—for the first time since the conflict began
- Today: large attack on U.S. forces at an airbase in Iraq by Iranian-backed militants
- Iran attacked 3 countries in 48 hours (Pakistan, Iraq, Syria), hijacked a ship & took hostages, & caught sending ballistic missile components to Yemen
- In a proportional tit-for-tat response to Iran's attack, Pakistan struck multiple targets in Iran
- 140+ attacks now on U.S. forces in Iraq & Syria (confirmed by DOD), U.S. responded with precision strikes 10+ times (& gunship sorties)
- The U.S. followed up with an additional 6 rounds of strikes, targeting key Houthi infrastructure
- Houthis continue to attack commercial shipping & U.S. Navy ships, with at least 35 incidents recorded (more than 5 since the 11th)

Reuters, according to regional and #Iranian sources: Commanders of the Revolutionary Guard and #Hezbollah are in #Yemen to direct #Houthi attacks on ships

Urgent | Reuters, according to regional and #Iranian sources: Tehran intensified weapons supplies to the Houthis after the start of the war in #Gaza.

Urgent | Reuters, according to regional and #Iranian sources: Tehran provided the Houthis with advanced drones, anti-ship missiles, and precision missiles.

Urgent | Reuters, according to regional and #Iranian sources: Revolutionary Guard advisors provide data and support to identify ships heading to #Israel

#Netanyahu: Who said we will not attack Iran? We will attack. #Iran is the head of the octopus, you see the arms around, everything you see, from the Houthis to #Hezbollah to #Hamas, Iran is behind it.

We know that we have a conflict with Iran and that is why we understand more today what I have been saying for 30 years.

Don't just think about what Iran wants to do to us, to destroy us, imagine what Iran can do in the Middle East.

The overthrow of regimes, the control of international sea crossings, threaten the whole world.

Iran doesn't have nuclear weapons now, imagine trying to do that.
How critical is it that we prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons?

Some say ten years, but they have more steps to go through and I don't want to detail that here.

As the Prime Minister of Israel, I am obliged to do everything to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Not only for our safety and existence, but for the safety of the whole world.

The US says they can't find the Houthi weapons, and their intelligence is blind in Yemen

U.S. officials told The New York Times that "we are having difficulty finding targets because the Yemenis have hidden most of their weapons and are still able to threaten shipping."

" We fired more than 100 rockets, but the damage to the Houthis was minimal."

The Houthis have experienced eight years of Saudi bombing and know that they can survive all types of airstrikes.

PS. Telegram channel discussiona claims that IRGC Quds force together with Hezbollah of Lebanon had prepared Yemen for US and UK strikes by creating decoys and moving around the missile launchers on a scheduled basis to minimize the damage caused by the missile strikes /Farhad

Hezbollah vehemently condemns the blatant American-British aggression on our brotherly Yemen, its security, sovereignty, and its honorable free people. Yemen stood with strength, courage, and responsibility alongside the Palestinian people and their courageous resistance, exerting utmost effort to lift the blockade through all available means.

The American aggression reaffirms once again that the US is a full partner in the tragedies and massacres committed by the Zionist enemy in Gaza and the region. America works to support and extend its killing and destruction machinery, covering up its aggression, crimes, and attacks on anyone standing by the oppressed Palestinian people throughout the region.

As we salute beloved Yemen, its national army, and its noble people and leadership, we affirm that this aggression will not break its resolve. Instead, it will strengthen its power, determination, and courage to confront and defend itself, continuing on the path to support the Palestinian people and triumph in their just and righteous cause.

By bombing Yemen, the west risks repeating its own mistakes

The Guardian

Instead of retaliating against the Houthi militia, the US and its allies should be pressing Israel to end its invasion of Gaza and accept a ceasefire.

(Text continues underneath the photo.)

Early on Friday, the US and Britain launched military strikes against more than a dozen targets in Yemen controlled by the Houthi militia. (...)

Western leaders, and especially the US president, Joe Biden, insist that they want to reduce the risk of the war in Gaza spreading to other parts of the Middle East. But the US-led air and naval strikes on Yemen are the most significant expansion of the conflict since Israel launched its devastating assault on Gaza after the 7 October attacks by Hamas. Instead of avoiding a wider war, the US and its allies are escalating regional tensions and adding fuel to a conflict that has already spilled over to Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and the Red Sea. The conflagration could spiral out of control, perhaps more by accident than design. (...)

Washington appears almost eager to repeat its mistakes: years of bombing by US allies during Yemen’s long civil war failed to dislodge the Houthis or persuade them to change course. In fact, the Houthis became stronger after each military confrontation.(...)

The US and its allies are resisting the clearest path for de-escalation across the region: putting pressure on Israel to end its invasion and accept a ceasefire.

A truce would remove the Houthis’ rationale for their aggression against commercial shipping in the Red Sea – and the movement’s leaders have said they will cease disrupting global trade once Israel stops bombing Gaza. The US-led military strikes are likely to have the opposite effect. (...)

The Houthis, who were losing support in Yemen before the Gaza war, have little incentive to change tactics since the conflict has increased their popularity throughout the Middle East. (...)

Washington’s unwavering support and billions of dollars in arms shipments to Israel are straining other US alliances in the region. It’s notable that two of the US’s closest allies in the Arab world, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, have resisted joining an international naval coalition, assembled by the Biden administration last month, to confront the Houthis and protect shipping in the Red Sea. (...)

The Houthis essentially won the war, and they reached a UN-brokered ceasefire in 2022 with Saudi Arabia, although the two sides are still negotiating a permanent truce. (...)

For the US and Britain, that history should serve as a cautionary tale: the regional power they supported spent years trying to destroy the Houthis, only to be ground down and forced to negotiate a settlement.

US skeptical Israel can take on Hezbullah just now

In an article by the Washington Post, the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) found that it will be difficult for Israel to succeed in a war with Lebanon’s Hezbullah because its military assets and resources would be spread too thin given the conflict in Gaza.

It added that according to US intelligence, the Israeli army has hit the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) more than 34 times since Oct. 7.

The US considers these actions as hindering to its efforts to transform the Lebanese Army into a counter for Hezbullah, as they would be a vital component of any “day after” in Lebanon in which Hezbullah is weakened and poses less of a threat to Israel.

In response to this article, Barak Ravid highlights a very important point.

"The Israeli high intensity operation in Gaza is almost over. If Israel decides to go to war in Lebanon (which is a big if), it will shift most of the forces to the north and can do it pretty quickly."

And while that is true, an exhausted ground force being shifted to a harder battlefield before accomplishing war goals in Gaza is going to proof devastating to the Israeli army and the Israeli government.
