In fact, Israel holds thousands more prisoners it classifies as "security prisoners”, "security detainees” or "unlawful combatants". So Israel could have charged the “administrative detainees” with security offenses, but they didn’t do that.
There’s another reason why the term #hostage is appropriate. Palestinian hostages have a lot in common with Israeli hostages:
(1) They were abducted from their homes in the early hours of the morning, just like the Israeli hostages.
(2) They are held captive in abysmal conditions, just like (some of) the Israeli hostages [although, to be sure, while some of the released Israeli hostages reported humane treatment by their captors …, it is impossible to find similar testimony among the released Palestinian hostages].
(3) Many were taken as bargaining chips in a prisoner swap, just like the Israeli hostages.

Around 100 civilians remain in Vovchansk, Russians have threatened to shoot them
Around 100 Ukrainian civilians remain in the embattled town of Vovchansk, but Russian forces refuse to allow them to leave and have threatened to shoot them, Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov said on state television on May 21.
Syniehubov said on May 20 that more than 10,500 civilians had been evacuated from Kharkiv Oblast amid the renewed Russian onslaught.
The governor said on May 21 that those who remained in Vovchansk would be evacuated at the soonest possible opportunity but that 100 civilians had been effectively "taken #hostage" by Russian troops and could not leave.

Unconfirmed: IDF is having a mutiny among reservists and ranking officers because of their failure in every aspects of the war.
After 120 days:
- Not a single #hostage was released by #IDF
- Not a single high ranking Hamas leader has been captured or kill
- #Hamaa fighter seems to still be well organized and we'll armed in both the north and south #Gaza.
- Mental health of IDF soldiers have deteriorated significantly in the past few weeks

- The number of mental sick leave have been increasing since the start of the assault on Gaza.

US Senator: Republicans 'holding Ukraine aid hostage'
Senator Chris Murphy, said he wished Republicans weren't holding further aid to Ukraine hostage to immigration reform as military assistance to both Kyiv and Israel continues to get held up in Congress.
"Vladimir Putin is delighting right now in Republicans' insistence that we get a deal on immigration reform and if we don't, then they're gonna allow Vladimir Putin to march into Ukraine and perhaps into Europe."
Murphy also said that this is a "crisis moment for Ukraine" as the country is rapidly running out of ammunition.
