This seventeenth-century engraving of #Jesus-Christ wearing a #crown of #thorns is titled "

#One with a #single #line.

Indeed, what from a distance resembles an ordinary drawing is, up close, an image created with a single line that #spirals in a #spiral. All details of the #face and the transitions of #light and #shadow are created by the thickening of this line.

The author is French artist #ClaudeMellan.

For the artist's contemporaries, his method of engraving remained a mystery, and no one has been able to repeat it.

Full Spectrum Light

Over the mountains and across the sea ~
Thinking of You
at a Paderborn Metal Concert,
and party lights of pink and blue.
Gemma, the Weeping Fig tree
is growing new leaves.
I start thinking about growing tomatoes,
potatoes, green beans, yellow squash,
eggplant, flowers and herbs too.
But I’m only growing older,
my hair and fingernails ~
in the light of pink and blue.

"With the extreme cold, ice crystals filled the air," says photographer Peter Rosén in downtown Stockholm. "This created a magnificent display of #light #pillars that looked almost like Northern Lights."

Light pillars are #manmade lights spread into colorful columns by large wobbly snowflakes and other crystals. No solar activity is required. The only ingredients are ice and light #pollution.

The red lights in Rosén's photo are aircraft warning beacons on tall buildings and construction cranes. Other colors correspond to high pressure sodium lamps (warm orange) and modern LED lamps (blue-white).

The word in #Greek for #forgiveness is #aphes which means to send away, leave alone, depart or release and pardon.

The word in #Aramaic is #shavaq which is the word used for divorce, the ending of a marriage as well as pardon.

In #Hebrew, the word for forgiveness is #chaphar which means to cover up or cover over and pardon.

#All these words have the idea of a pardon. In a sense what Jesus was saying when He said: “Father forgive them” was that he was granting them a pardon.
