This is an image of the skyline of the city of #Isphahan where the authorities are going to make the decision declaring tomorrow a regional holiday asking citizens to stay home and avoid travelling at any cost.

This is the 4th day in a rows that part of the country has been paralyzed because of the biggest dust storm the country has faced in many years.

Drought-hit Panama Canal to restrict access for one year

The drought-hit Panama Canal will maintain restrictions on the passage of ships for one year, a measure that has already led to a marine traffic jam as boats line up to enter the waterway linking two oceans.

The canal is facing a shortage of rainwater needed to transfer ships through locks that function like water elevators, an engineering marvel that moves six percent of the world's maritime commerce up and over the isthmus between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

"The big disadvantage that the Panama Canal has as a maritime route is that we operate with freshwater, while others use seawater," canal administrator Ricaurte Vasquez told AFP earlier this month.

"We have to find other solutions to remain a relevant route for international trade. If we don't adapt, we are going to die."

As global warming hitting Iran and other countries in the region, life is becoming harder and unbearable for every day that goes for the people who live there.

#Draught, forest fires, massive rains followed by flash #floods and in between dust storms and unbearable heat are becoming every day event in #Iran and other west Asian nations.

1000s of villages have already abandoned by people who lost their livelihood as rivers dry out and so does the water wells.

Dust storms are not unfamiliar in southern regions of the country, but these days even city of Karaj north west of Tehran has tuned into a scene from old western movies.

The dust carrying deadly traces of pollution and poisonous leftovers of decades of unregulated dumping of dangerous chemicals are making the life even harder, followed by various types of sickness and even death.

This is the image of future Iran as one of the biggest victims of the climate change and global warming.

Sadly, neither the government, nor the majority of the population are willing or able to make any changes to limit these ticking bomb that is going to create an unimaginable catastrophe, with 10s of millions of desperate people who have no where to go.

The scorching heatwave and drought that have gripped much of Italy this summer are set to give way to rain, hail and flood warnings over the weekend.

Italy has seen record temperatures in multiple cities this summer, resulting in widespread "red alerts" that signify health risks even for young and healthy individuals.

The heat and dry weather have resulted in many #wildfires, and the erosion of the country's #glaciers. According to #Italy's main agriculture union Coldiretti, these conditions have cost Italian farmers at least 6 billion euros in damage to crops.

Italy Hit by Third Major Heatwave This Summer

Temperatures in cities across central and southern parts of the country are expected to surpass 40 degrees Celsius in the coming days.

On Monday, the Italian Health Ministry said that by mid-week, 17 of Italy's 27 largest cities will be on "red alert" for heat. A new record of 20 out of 27 cities was set in July.

The server drought and the Talibans cut off the water supply to Iran is making the lives of improvised province of Baluchestan in Iran even harder.

With extremely long heatwave and heavy winds, many parts of the province facing catastrophic situation that has forced the government to declare tomorrow Sunday as a holiday.

People in south east and south west of Iran getting a taste of what climate catastrophe means and what is extreme today, is going to be the daily events in the coming years and decades.

This will create 10s of millions of people forced to seek shelter and work in other parts of the country and abroad.

The draughts conditions in Iran reaching a catastrophic levels.

This image was released by #NASA taken at the location where it used to be #lake #Urmieh, between eastern and western Azerbaijan provinces in north western Iran.

The lake used to be the home of Asian #flamingos and many other birds who are now all gone. The lake was also home to 100a of unique species of fish and other marine lives not found anywhere else in the world.

The water level of #CaspianSea, the largest lake in the world is now 9m bellow it's lowest level recorded in history and causing trouble for fishermen and people who's life depends on the well being of that sea, not only in #Iran, but also in #Azerbaijan Republic, #Turkmenistan and even Russia.

Even the ultra conservative evening newspaper Keyhan is talking about global boiling

The heat wave that hit most of the world in the past few weeks had some devastating consequences in Iran. With over 30 verified deaths as results of the extreme temperatures in different cities, business, shops and government buildings were shot down between 10am and 4pm to minimize the risk of people getting hurt.

With temperatures up to 52°C in Kuzestan province and dust/sand storms in Baluchestan, people felt a taste of the horror that is going to be the daily realities in the near future.

Sadly, the conservatives in Europe and US still deny the realities of the climate change and it's devastating consequences for all lives on earth.
