#OpenWrt One: A Repairable #FOSS Wi-Fi 6 #Router From #BananaPi

Source: https://news.itsfoss.com/openwrt-one/

Built with user control in mind, the OpenWrt One is designed to be open and unbrickable, with a switch to separately flash the NOR and NAND portions of the flash memory. This allows anyone to recover their router quickly, even if one of the #firmware partitions is corrupted, enabling easy flashes and unmatched customization potential.

I am kind of nervous, I have a Netgear Nighthawk AC2600, R7800 that I want to set up as router for the apartment to stop using the wifi from the internet provider and use a VPN.

To my surprise, it seems that it only has an incoming VPN support and can't function as client VPN. I have to install a new firmware on it which makes it really scary.

It was almost 2 decades ago I did anything similar and I am really nervous!

#RaspberryPiPico: #BreadboardOS (BBOS, if you like) - as its namesake implies - is a #firmware platform aimed at quick #prototyping.

BBOS provides tools out of the box that make developing projects much easier. BBOS provides a command line interface (or CLI) that lets you #interface with the RP2040 board directly. This makes it possible to not only interact with the Pi but also handle practical functions like real-time debugging. This can be a time saver when troubleshooting, getting you closer to your end project faster.

How #Apple plans to #update new iPhones without opening them

source: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/03/this-device-can-update-new-iphones-while-theyre-still-in-the-box/

But what if you could update the device while it's still in the box? That's the latest plan cooked up by Apple, which is close to rolling out a system that will let Apple Stores wirelessly update new iPhones while they're still in their boxes. The new system is called "Presto."

NSA & CIA thank you for the possibility to install Trojans via update.
