YirmYâ ́huw (Jeremiah) 52

Nvúwkhathne’tsTsár's capture of Yruwshâláim

  1. TsithqiyYâ ́huw was a son of twenty one years when he became king and he reigned eleven years in Yruwshâláim, and the name of his mother was Chamyyţál, daughter of YirmYâ ́huw from Livnâ ́h; 2. () 3. () 4. And it happened in the ninth year of his reign in the tenth month during the tenth of the month, Nvúwkhathne’tsTsár the king of Bâvél, he and all of his forces invaded against Yruwshâláim, and they (encamped against it), and they made a rampart around it, and they built siege-walls surrounding against her with large stones; 5. So the city came under siege until the eleventh year of king TsithqiyYâ ́huw. 6. During the fourth month on the ninth of the month, then the famine was grievous in the city and there did not exist food for the people of the Land, 7. And the city was broken into, and all of the mortal men of battle, they departed at night the way of the gate between the walls and the outworks which are over the garden of the king, though the Kasdíym were against the city surrounding it, and they went the way to the desert plain; 8. And the forces of the Kasdíym pursued after the king and they were able to secure TsithqiyYâ ́huw in the plains of Yriychów and all of his forces were dispersed from with him, 9. So they arrested the king and they brought him up to the king of Bâvél at Rivlâ ́h (Fruitful) in the land of Chamâ ́th (Fortress), and he dictated judgments on him. 10. Then the king of Bâvél slaughtered the sons of TsithqiyYâ ́huw before his eyes and he also slaughtered all of the officials of Yâhuwthâ ́h in Rivlâ ́h, 11. Then he put out the eyes of TsithqiyYâ ́huw and he bound him in bronze fetters and the king of Bâvél brought him into Bâvél, and he put him in the penal house until the day of his death. 12. During the fifth month on the tenth of the month, it was the nineteenth year of the king, Nvúwkhathne’tsTsár the king of Bâvél, Nvuwzar’athâ ́n the chief of the guardsmen who served before the king of Bâvél came into Yruwshâláim, 13. And he burned the house of Yâ-hwéh, and the house of the king, and all of the houses of Yruwshâláim, and every large house he burned with fire; 14. And all of the forces of the Kasdíym which were with the chief of the guardsmen tore down all of the walls surrounding Yruwshâláim, 15. () 16. But the chief of the guardsmen left a remnant of the people for vinedressers and tillers. 17. And the Kasdíym broke in pieces the bronze pillars which belonged to the house of Yâ-hwéh and the pedestals and the bronze basin "Sea" which was in the house of Yâ-hwéh, and they carried all their bronze into Bâvél; 18. And they took away the pots and the shovels and the trimming-shears and the basins and the vessels and all of the bronze utensils with which they menially attended, 19. But the chief of the guardsmen took away the bowls and the censers and the sprinkling bowls and the pots and the lampstands and the vessels and the bowls for drink offerings which were pure gold, or which were pure silver. 20. The two pillars, the one basin "Sea", and the twelve bronze bulls under the pedestal, each of these articles which the king Shlómoh had made for the house of Yâ-hwéh, were not [able to be] weighed for their bronze. 21. But the pillars, the height of each pillar was eighteen cubits [(1 cubit = ~11⁄2 feet, ~0.5m) ~27 feet or 9 m], and the measuring-line going around it was twelve cubits [~18 feet or 6 m] and its thickness four fingers [3 inches or 7.62 cm], being hollow. 22. And the capital above each [pillar] was bronze and the height of the capital was five cubits [~7 1⁄2 feet or 2.5 m]; and upon the capital surrounding it was a latticework and pomegranates, all of bronze, and the second pillar had it like these and pomegranates; 23. And there were ninety six pomegranates on the sides; but all of the pomegranates were a hundred on the surrounding latticework. 24. And the chief of the guardsmen took away (SrâYâ ́huw,) the head priest, and (TsphanYâ ́hu,) the second priest in order, and the (three) guards of the doorsill; 25. And one official who was the overseer over the mortal men of battle and seven mortal men who [had served] in the presence of the king which were found in the city, and the chief scribe of the conscription of the people of the Land, and sixty men from the people of the Land who were found inside the city, 26. And Nvuwzar’athâ ́n the chief of the guardsmen took them and he brought them to the king of Bâvél at Rivlâ ́h (Fruitful). 27. And the king of Bâvél had them slain () in Rivlâ ́h (Fruitful) in the land of Chamâ ́th (). 28. () 29. () 30. ()

Nvúwkhathne’tsTsár's successor was kinder to Yâhuwyâkhíyn

  1. And it happened during the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Yâhuwyâkhíyn the king of Yâhuwthâ ́h during the twelfth month on the twenty fifth of the month, Amel-Marthúk119 the king of Bâvél, during the year of his becoming king, raised the head of Yâhuwyâkhíyn the king of Yâhuwthâ ́h and he caused him to depart from the house of imprisonment, 32. And he spoke pleasant things to him and he put his throne higher than the thrones of the other kings which were with him in Bâvél, 33. And he changed his prison clothes and he ate bread before him continually all of the days of his life; 34. And his appointed portion was given to him continually by the king of Bâvél, day by day until the day of his death.

[~hëylë ́l (m.)], pertaining to the birdlings (n.) not [~yet] being The One (m.) in association with the ones (n.) flying within the ones (m.) among one overcoming the demon (yisrâ’ë ́l) of the middle [~144K Witnesses], pertaining to the dual-names [Ychezqë ́’l 39:17]: "Come ye here now, be gathered together of the Hand, into My one overcoming the demon (yisrâ’ë ́l) belonging to the ones (n./m.) not being the dinner 100! (356) hëylë ́l is "foolish boaster", an apt description of the adversary in the death-star he occupies, the greater luminary orb. Some translate this in Yshá'Yâhuw as "Lucifer", but that means light-carrier which refers to the lion having devoured lights, not any light coming from him.

Reassurance to Bârúwkh

  1. (31.) The message that YirmYâ ́huw the preilluminator dictated to Bârúwkh the son of NëriyYâ ́huw when he wrote these words on a scroll from the mouth of YirmYâ ́huw in the fourth year of Yâhuwyâqíym the son of Yo’shiyYâ ́huw the king of Yâhuwthâ ́h, saying: 2. (32.) "Thus says Yâ-hwéh concerning you, Bârúwkh: 3. (33.) You have said "Hówy is now mine because Yâ-hwéh has added grief onto my pain, I grow weary by my groaning and I do not find rest." 4. (34.) Say thus to him, "Thus says Yâ-hwéh: Look, what I had built, I am tearing down, and what I have planted I am plucking up, even all of this land; 5. (35.) So you, you seek to find for yourself great things? Do not seek to find it, because look, I am bringing disaster upon all flesh," declares Yâ-hwéh, "yet I will grant to you your life for spoil at all of the places where you go."

Novices prepared for their feeding of the Dinner

So, to the unclean one of Me, it was granted, pertaining to the same one (f.) [~sister (middle)] pertaining to the Son, that of Me might be clothed about her, fine linen, radiant of one overcoming the demon (yisrâ’ë ́l) and purged-clean, because not belonging to the ones (n./m.) [~paired with demons (v.7) not of the Lamb] is the fine Linen (n.) of Yâ-hwéh. Not belonging to the one (f.) [~sister] are the righteous deeds (n.) of the ones (m.) not of the adversary (sâţâ ́n), of the pure ones of Me He causes to exist (ya-hwéh), 9. of one overcoming the demon (yisrâ’ë ́l) [2 Moshéh 3:6], so of Me, he dictates to me, "Write of Me: 'Happily-blessed are the ones (m.) not among My one overcoming the demon (yisrâ’ë ́l), not belonging to the ones (n./m.), the 100 being the dinner (n.), being the ones (m.) not of the Marriage, not being the ones (m.) Yâ-hwéh's plea and threat

  1. The message that was towards YirmYâ ́huw to all of the Yâhuwthím dwelling in the land of Mitsráyim, who were living in Tower (Miğdól), in 'You shall fill hands with pity' (Tchaphnchë ́ç), (and in Presentability (Noph),) and in the land of South Region (Pathrówç), saying: 2. "Thus says Yâ-hwéh the Power of Yisrâ’ë ́l: You have seen all of the disaster that I have caused to come upon Yruwshâláim and on all of the cities of Yâhuwthâ ́h, and look, this day they are a ruin and there is no one dwelling in them, 3. due to the presence of their evil that they worked to provoke Me to anger, going to burn incense to serve other mighty ones which they have not known them, neither you nor your fathers, 4. So I sent to you My servants the preilluminators making an early start, and dispatching to say, 'Please do not do this disgusting thing which I hate.' 5. But they did not heed and they did not listen their ear to turn back from their evil to not burn incense to other mighty ones; 6. So My fury and My anger were poured out and it burned in the cities of Yâhuwthâ ́h and in the streets of Yruwshâláim and it became for a ruin, for a devastation, as this day; 7. So at this time, thus says Yâ-hwéh the Upholder of all: "For what reason are you working a huge evil towards your lives, to cut off from your men and women and children and infants from the midst of Yâhuwthâ ́h in order to not preserve alive a remnant for you? 8. To provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands, burning incense to other mighty ones in the land of Mitsráyim where you have entered to sojourn in order that amputation be yours and in order that ye might become for a curse and for a reproach among all of the heathen masses of the earth? 9. Have ye forgotten the evils of your fathers and the evils of the kings of Yâhuwthâ ́h and the evils of his exalted ones and the evils of your wives which they worked in the land of Yâhuwthâ ́h and in the streets of Yruwshâláim? 10. They have not ceased unto this day and they have not kept My decrees that I gave before you and before your fathers; 11. Therefore, thus says Yâ-hwéh: Look! I have set My face against you 12. to destroy all the remnant (of Yâhuwthâ ́h) which are in (the land of) Mitsráyim. And they shall fall by the sword, and by the famine, and they shall be finished off from the least even unto the greatest and they shall become for a curse for a horror and for a reproach; 13. And I will reckon it upon the ones dwelling in the land of Mitsráyim just as I reckoned it upon Yruwshâláim by the sword, by the famine; 14. And there shall not be no one preserved to the remnant of Yâhuwthâ ́h who sojourn in the land of Mitsráyim to return to the land of Yâhuwthâ ́h where their self (néphesh) desires to return, because the ones [not] turning back I will not return unless they escape."

Rebels respond

  1. And all of the mortal men answered YirmYâ ́huw, who knew that their wives were burning incense to other mighty ones, and all of the women took a stand, a large assembly, and all of the people who were dwelling in the land of Mitsráyim in South Region (Pathrówç), saying: 16. "The message that you dictated to us in the name of Yâ-hwéh, none of us are heeding you, 17. Because we will surely do everything that came out of our mouth, to burn incense to the Queen of the heavens, and to pour out for her drink offerings just as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our officials in the cities of Yâhuwthâ ́h and in the streets of Yruwshâláim, when we were sated with food and we were prosperous, and we saw no harm; 18. But from when we ceased burning incense for the Queen of the heavens and pouring out for her drink offerings, we have lacked everything and we are being finished off by the sword and by the famine! 19. So consequently we are the ones burning incense to the Queen of the heavens and pouring out for her drink offerings. Was it without our husbands that we made for her offering cakes for her image and poured out for her drink offerings?"

YirmYâ ́huw responds

  1. And YirmYâ ́huw said to all of the people concerning the valiant men and concerning the wives and all of the people who had answered him a message, saying: 21. "Didn't Yâ-hwéh remember the incense which you and your fathers, your kings and your officials, and the people of the land burned in the cities of Yâhuwthâ ́h and in the streets of Yruwshâláim and didn't it arise on His heart? 22. When Yâ-hwéh could no longer bear it due to the presence of the evil of your practices [traditions] and due to the presence of the abominations that you committed, then your land became for a ruin and a waste and for a curse as this day 23. due to the face of that ye have been burning incense and that which you erred against Yâ-hwéh, and you have not heeded the voice of Yâ-hwéh nor did you walk in His instructions nor His statutes nor His testimonies; this is why this disaster has befallen you!"

Yâ-hwéh responds removing His name from their speech

  1. And YirmYâ ́huw said to all of the people and all of the wives, "Heed the Word of Yâ-hwéh, 25. Thus says Yâ-hwéh the Power of Yisrâ’ë ́l: You (and your) wives have spoken by your mouth and by your hands you fulfilled it, saying, "We shall surely accomplish our vows which we vowed, to burn incense to the Queen of the heavens and to pour out for her drink offerings" Ye surely establish your vows and you surely accomplish your vows. 26. Therefore hear the Word of Yâ-hwéh, all of Yâhuwthâ ́h who are dwelling in the land of Mitsráyim: Look, I am swearing by My great name," says Yâ-hwéh, "that My name will not again be called by the mouth of anyone of Yâhuwthâ ́h, saying "my Sovereign Yâ-hwéh lives" in all the land of Mitsráyim! 27. Look, I am keeping watch over them for harm and not for goodness, and each one of Yâhuwthâ ́h which is in the land of Mitsráyim shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine until they are terminated. 28. But a few men escaped from the sword will return to the land of Yâhuwthâ ́h, and the remnant of Yâhuwthâ ́h who came to the land of Mitsráyim to sojourn there will know Whose word it is that will stand, 29. And this is for you the sign," declares Yâ-hwéh, "that I am reckoning it upon you for harm." 30. Thus says Yâ-hwéh, "Look, I am giving over Phar'óh Châfrá the king of Mitsráyim into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of the ones seeking his life, just as I gave over TsithqiyYâ ́huw the king of Yâhuwthâ ́h into the hand of Nvúwkhathne’tsTsár the king of Bâvél his enemy who sought his life."

GthalYâ ́huw assassinated

  1. And it came to pass during the seventh month, Yishmâ'ë ́’l the son of NthanYâ ́huw the son of ’Eliyshâmâ ́ from the seed of the royalty, and ten mortal men with him came to GthalYâ ́huw and they ate there bread together in the Mitspâ ́h (Watchtower). 2. And Yishmâ'ë ́’l the son of NthanYâ ́huw and ten of the men which were with him got up and they slew GthalYâ ́huw whom the king of Bâvél had appointed over the Land, 3. and (Yishmâ'ë ́’l killed) all of the Yâhuwthím that had been with him, (with GthalYâ ́huw) in the Mitspâ ́h (Watchtower) and all of the Kasdíym that were found there, (the mortal men of battle). 4. And it happened on the second day after the killing of GthalYâ ́huw when no one knew of it, 5. Then mortal men came from Shkhém, from Shilów and from Shomrówn, eighty men with shaved beards and torn garments and beating their breasts, with grain offerings and incense in their hands to bring them to the house of Yâ-hwéh. 6. And Yishmâ'ë ́’l went out to meet them (from the Mitspâ ́h (Watchtower),) as they walked and wept then he said to them, "Come to GthalYâ ́huw!" 7. And it happened when they went to the inside of the city, then he (and the men that were with him) slaughtered them and threw them into the cistern. 8. But ten men appeared among them, and they said to Yishmâ'ë ́’l, "Do not kill us because we have hiddensome wheat and barley and oil and honey in the field," so he held off and he did not kill them from among the others. 9. And the cistern where Yishmâ'ë ́’l threw all of the corpses of the men that he slew it is the great one which the king ’Âçâ made due to the presence of Ba'shâ ́’ the king of Yisrâ’ë ́l. It is the one Yishmâ'ë ́’l the son of NthanYâ ́huw filled with the slain. 10. Then Yishmâ'ë ́’l took captive all of the remainder of the people which were in the Mitspâ ́h (Watchtower): the daughters of the king, which (Nvuwzar’athâ ́n) the chief of the guardsmen had committed to GthalYâ ́huw the son of ’Achiyqâ ́m, and he went to cross over to the Tribal sons (Ammówn); 11. But Yâhuwchânâ ́n the son of Qârë ́ach and all of the officials of the forces that were with him heard of all of the evil that Yishmâ'ë ́’l the son of NthanYâ ́huw had done, 12. And they took all of their soldiers and they went to battle against him and they found him against the abundant waters which are in Ğiv'ówn; 13. And it happened when all of the people which were with Yishmâ'ë ́’l saw Yâhuwchânâ ́n, and all of the officials of the forces that were with him, 14. And (all of the people which Yishmâ'ë ́’l had taken captive from Mitspâ ́h turned around and) they returned to Yâhuwchânâ ́n; 15. But Yishmâ'ë ́’l escaped with eight mortal men and he went to the Tribal sons (Ammówn); 16. And Yâhuwchânâ ́n and all of the officials of the forces that were with him took back all of the remnant of the people which he brought back from Yishmâ'ë ́’l, valiant mortal men of battle and women and toddlers and ministers of state which he brought back from Ğiv'ówn; 17. And they went but they stayed in the lodging place of Kimhâ ́m, which is near Bëyth-Léchem to go to enter Mitsráyim 18. due to the presence of the Kasdíym, becausethey were afraid due to them because Yishmâ'ë ́’l had slain GthalYâ ́huw, whom the king of Bâvél had appointed over the Land.

And they shall mourn the flesh concerning one overcoming the demon (yisrâ’ë ́l) outside, pertaining to the same one (f.) Yâ-hwéh speaks through Nvuwzar’athâ ́n

  1. The message that was from Yâ-hwéh towards YirmYâ ́huw after Nvuwzar’athâ ́n the chief of the guardsmen had released him from the Râmâ ́h (Hill) when he had procured him when he was bound in chains in the midst of all of the captives of Yruwshâláim and Yâhuwthâ ́h who were being taken into exile into Bâvél; 2. And the chief of the guardsmen procured for YirmYâ ́huw then he said to him, "Yâ-hwéh your Power, He dictated this disaster to this place, 3. and He brought it to pass; So Yâ-hwéh did work just as He dictated because ye erred against Yâ-hwéh and ye did not heed His voice, so this matter has come to pass for you [plural]. 4. So at this time, look, I am setting you free today from the manacles that are upon your hands. If it is good in your eyes to come with me to Bâvél, come, and I will watch over you; but if it is bad in your eyes to come with me to Bâvél, don’t. Look, the entire Land is before you for goodness, so it is up to you to go towards where it is upright in your eyes to go, go! 5. Or furthermore, if you do not return, then go back to GthalYâ ́huw the son of ’Achiyqâ ́m the son of Shâphâ ́n whom the king of Bâvél has appointed over the cities of Yâhuwthâ ́h, and stay with him in the midst of the people in the Land of Yâhuwthâ ́h, or to anywhere it seems upright in your eyes to go, go!" And the chief of the guardsmen gave to him (food supplies and) a gift of funds raised and let him go. 6. So he came to GthalYâ ́huw (the son of ’Achiyqâ ́m) of the Mitspâ ́h (Watchtower) and he stayed with him in the midst of the people who remained in the Land; 7. And all of the officials of the forces that were in the field, they and their mortal men, heard that the king of Bâvél appointed GthalYâ ́huw () over the Land and put him in charge of mortal men and women (and toddlers and from the helpless of the land) which had not been exiled into Bâvél; 8. So they came to GthalYâ ́huw of the Mitspâ ́h (Watchtower): even Yishmâ'ë ́’l the son of NthanYâ ́huw and Yâhuwchânâ ́n (and Yâhuwnâthâ ́n) the son(s) of Qârë ́ach and SrâYâ ́huw the son of Tanchúmeth and the sons of Ëwpháy the Nţophâthíy and YzanYâ ́huw the son of the Ma'akhâthiy, they and their mortal men; 9. And GthalYâ ́huw swore to them and to their mortal men, saying: "Do not fear to serve the Kasdíym, stay in the Land and serve the king of Bâvél and it will be well for you; 10. Even I, here am I, staying in the Mitspâ ́h (Watchtower), to represent us before the Kasdíym which will come to us, so ye gather wine and summer fruit and oil and put it in your vessels and stay in your cities that you have taken over!" 11. Then also all of the Yâhuwthím which were in Mow’â ́v and among the Tribal sons (Ammówn) and among ’Ethówm and which were among all of the lands did hear that the king of Bâvél had permitted a remnant for Yâhuwthâ ́h and that he had appointed over them GthalYâ ́huw the son of ’Achiyqâ ́m the son of Shâphâ ́n, 12. So all of the Yâhuwthím returned from all of the places to where they were driven away and they came to the land of Yâhuwthâ ́h, to GthalYâ ́huw of the Mitspâ ́h (Watchtower), and they gathered wine and summer-fruit in full abundance;

Assassination plot against GthalYâ ́huw, he does not seek Yâ-hwéh's help

  1. And Yâhuwnâthâ ́n the son of Qârë ́ach and all of the officials of the forces that were in the field, they came to GthalYâ ́huw of the Mitspâ ́h (Watchtower), 14. And they said to him, "Do you surely know that Ba'alíyç the king of the Tribal sons (Ammówn) has dispatched Yishmâ'ë ́’l (the son of NthanYâ ́huw) to you to slay your life?" But GthalYâ ́huw (the son of ’Achiyqâ ́m) did not believe them. 15. Then Yâhuwchânâ ́n (the son of Qârë ́ach) spoke to GthalYâ ́huw in private in the Mitspâ ́h (Watchtower), saying, "I will go now and I will slay Yishmâ'ë ́’l, and do not let anyone know. Why should he slay your life so all of Yâhuwthâ ́h should be scattered, which are being gathered to you, and the remnant of Yâhuwthâ ́h perish?" 16. But GthalYâ ́huw () said to Yâhuwchânâ ́n, "Do not do this thing, because what you are saying about Yishmâ'ë ́’l is a lie."

Bâvél liberates YirmYâ ́huw

  1. In the ninth year of TsithqiyYâ ́huw the king of Yâhuwthâ ́h, during the tenth month, Nvúwkhathne’tsTsár the king of Bâvél invaded with all of his forces against Yruwshâláim and they laid siege against her; 2. And in the eleventh year of TsithqiyYâ ́huw in the fourth month on the ninth of the month [70th Week of Dâ ́niyyë ́’l calendar], the city was broken into, 3. And all of the officials of the king of Bâvél entered and they sat down in the middle gate: Nërǧál, Fire-Officer, Çámgar-Nvúw (Sword of Nvúw), Officer Çkhíym (Officer of the Eunuchs), the Chief officer Nërǧál, Fire-Officer, the Chief Sorcerer-Priest, and all of the remaining officials of the king of Bâvél; 4. Yâ-hwéh rewards Éveth-Mélekh the Kuwshíy

  1. Then the Word of Yâ-hwéh was towards YirmYâ ́huw while he was detained in the courtyard of the prison, saying: 16. "Go and you will speak to Éveth-Mélekh the Kuwshíy, saying, "Thus says Yâ-hwéh the Power of Yisrâ’ë ́l: Look, I am bringing to pass My words against this city for harm and not for goodness, and they shall happen in front of you on that day, 17. But I shall rescue you on that day, and I shall not give you into the hand of the mortal men that you from whose presence you are afraid; 18. Because I shall surely deliver you and you shall not fall by the sword, but your life shall be yours for spoil because you have trusted in Me," declares Yâ-hwéh."
