The fundamental error of the Enlightenment and humanism is the adherence to the Kantian imperative. This quasi-religious dualism of good and evil. This belief that we can achieve a state in which everyone acts rationally. That's where all the madness we have to endure today comes from. This magical world of words and symbols that supposedly bring about good or evil and therefore have to be banished or constantly retrieved. This fear of those who think differently, it is considered "good" not to accept the opinion of others. This complete ignorance of dialectics. Dialectics is the recognition of permanent contradiction. We have to negotiate everything over and over again. There is no other way! Those who cross the boundaries, even in the "bad", are the ones who constantly adjust and calibrate society. They should be honoured and taken seriously and not hunted down and burned at the stake like a crazy medieval pitchfork mob... #kant #philosophy #dialectics #ethics

We no longer have to worry that #AI will destroy our #civilization. The US is now working with the UN to ensure that only good AI is developed and then used fairly. If there's anyone we can trust to distinguish between good and evil, it's the US. With its ethical foreign policy, it has set guidelines for the whole world that are still unsurpassed today.

Apple, Alphabet, Dell, Microsoft, and Tesla "don't have to compensate victims of forced child labor that provided cobalt for the lithium-ion batteries used in many electronic devices, a US appeals court ruled."

"Purchasing an unspecified amount of cobalt through the global supply chain is not 'participation in a venture' within the meaning of the TVPRA [Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008]," the ruling said. "We therefore affirm the district court's dismissal of the complaint."

"Companies such as Glencore, Huayou, and Eurasian Resources Group obtain cobalt from subsidiaries in the Democratic Republic of the Congo."

Perhaps you would be kind enough to allow me to declare a few theses on the #geopolitics of the U.S.

1) If #Ukraine loses the war, it would be a step backwards towards a liberal #world order. Autocracies would be on the rise and #China could feel empowered to invade #Taiwan.
2) If the #West had not supported Ukraine, the #war would already be over. It seems immoral to only half-heartedly #support Ukraine and thereby prolong the suffering for #power games.
3) If #Biden now denies Ukraine #military support for tactical #election maneuvers and fails to deliver urgently needed #ammunition, then his office is more important to him than the well-being of the world and the #future of #freedom.
4) If Biden were to supply the ammunition and thus lose the election, not only would #Trump win but #democracy would be damaged.
5) Geopolitics is a cynical #dilemma that costs many lives.
