Health Canada approves Moderna's updated COVID-19 vaccine
Health Canada has approved Moderna's updated COVID-19 vaccine for all Canadians who are six months of age and older — while two other options for fall shots remain in the regulatory pipeline.
Federal officials announced the approval on Tuesday morning, more than two months after Moderna submitted its new formulation. The mRNA-based shot is monovalent, targeting just the Omicron XBB.1.5 subvariant, which means the vaccine is more tailored to the virus strains currently circulating.
The company told CBC News that its first newly approved doses should arrive in Canada "by tomorrow" and will continue to arrive over the course of the month, while Canadian officials expect deliveries to the provinces will start in October.

Quote Last month, German Health Minister and renowned virus pest Karl Lauterbach gave a remarkable interview in which he denounced “exorbitant” pharmaceutical profits, deplored “dismaying” vaccine injuries, and called for the manufacturers to set aside funds for those who have been harmed.
He did so amid a growing wave of reporting on vaccine injuries in the German press – a wave which his statements have now turned into a tsunami. In the weeks since, vaccine injuries and side effects have become the dominant theme of German press coverage on the injections, from local papers to national media.
It’s been a serious shift, the likes of which I’m not sure has unfolded in any other country. To give you a taste of it, I’ve assembled a representative selection of stories from the last eight weeks or so, in roughly reverse chronological order. As you read through them, remember that these are all links to publications read by ordinary people; I’ve excluded all media with overt covid-sceptic associations.

Dietmar S. became as good as blind in his right eye following covid vaccination. Now the case is going to trial.

Across #Germany, 185 civil #lawsuits are pending because of damages caused by #corona #vaccinations. Oxana G. (35) is one of the injured parties. The fact that the courts are finally dealing with her case is already seen as a success by the woman from Halle: “I have lost my life – as I knew it before. I hope that my family and I will finally receive compensation and help.”

Rappelons également que l’Institut Pasteur avait utilisé le phosphate de calcium comme adjuvant sans danger, et que son partenaire majoritaire a choisi de le remplacer par un composé d'aluminium pour des raisons purement financières.
4/ L'ALLAITEMENT MATERNEL TEL QU'IL EST RECOMMANDÉ PAR L'OMS, 6 mois intégral et une année matin et soir avant et au retour du travail est l’idéal pour la santé du nourrisson et celle de sa mère quand elle est en bonne santé. Il assure les défenses immunitaires du nourrisson et évite les vaccinations précoces qui peuvent être prévues au delà de la 2ème année de l’enfant.
5/ LE PRINCIPE CONSTITUTIONNEL DE PRÉCAUTION doit être mis en application à propos des vaccins qui doivent subir les mêmes contrôles que les médicaments avant leur mise sur le marché, et doit rendre la liberté vaccinale à tous les Français, telle qu’elle est appliquée en Suède, Allemagne et dans d’autres pays du monde.
6/ Nous attirons en plus l’attention du législateur à propos du #vaccin #ROR (contre Rougeole, Oreillons et Rubéole) qui injecte des virus atténués qui ne sont pas sans danger chez des nourrissons fragiles et impose une vaccination au cas par cas.
7/Nous demandons instamment aux parlementaires de ne pas voter cette loi qui va contre l’intérêt de la santé des enfants et impose aux médecins et aux familles un dlcktat industriel et administratif.
Les médecins généralistes ou pédiatres ne doivent pas être dépossédés de leur compétence, et de leurs facultés de juger scientifiquement de l’intérêt de telle ou telle vaccination dans une relation de confiance avec la famille, dont ils gardent la responsabilité.

Strange beasts, these ‘libertarians’ who love to curb the freedom of others / by Kenan Malik
When is a #libertarian not a libertarian? When, apparently, it is the wrong kind of people whose liberties are being curtailed. The past week has seen so-called “libertarian” Tory MPs rebel against the government’s Covid plan B – the necessity for #vaccine certificates or negative tests to attend large venues, mandatory #vaccinations for NHS staff, and the compulsory wearing of masks in certain spaces. “We’re not a ‘papers please’ society,” Tory MP Marcus Fysh claimed. “This is not Nazi Germany.”
Forget the gratuitous Nazi analogy, for which Fysh apologised; such a stance is now endemic in much discussion of Covid restrictions. The fact is, for many people, Britain is very much a “papers please” society. “Papers please” is what the “hostile environment” for immigrants is built on – the demand that people who might be immigrants must show their papers before they can receive hospital treatment, rent a flat or find a job. It’s what lies at the heart of the Windrush scandal – the insistence that those who did not have the right papers could not be British, even if they had been born here, and had lived and worked here all their lives.
The failure to recognise this is not an unfortunate oversight. Rightwing libertarians often have a selective view of who should be able to avail themselves of liberty. In the run-up to the debate over Covid restrictions, two other laws deserving of their attention passed through parliament. The libertarians’ response to both revealed their authoritarian core.
The government’s police, crime, sentencing and courts bill is currently in its committee stage in the Lords, having travelled through the Commons. At its heart is an assault on the ability of people to protest. The law would allow police to prevent demonstrations they deem too noisy or causing “serious disruption”. What “serious disruption” means is left to the home secretary to define.

It was historically the left that waved the banner of #liberty, seeking to expand its meaning and to include debarred groups, from the working class to women to colonial subjects. These struggles gave shape to the modern meaning of liberty. More recently, though, many sections of the left have retreated from issues that once helped define it, from free speech to civil liberties. This has given a free pass to the libertarian right both to don the mantle of freedom and to distort its meaning; “libertarians” who are happy to deny basic #freedoms to those who need it most. Liberty is too important to leave to those who don’t really believe in it.
