Earth

How can we, #together as one #human #family, mend our severed ties to the #Earth? How can we reshape #society in a way that #balances #collectivism and #individualism? How can we, as #individuals, reclaim our #joy and #spirit in what often feels like a #broken #world?
#Separation breeds #violence. #Interconnectedness encourages #compassion.

#ChiefSeattle of the #Suquamish and #Duwamish #tribes reminds us: “We know the sap which courses through the #trees as we know the blood that courses through our veins. We are part of the earth and it is part of us. The perfumed #flowers are our #sisters. The #bear, the #deer, the great #eagle, these are our #brothers. The rocky crests, the #dew in the meadow, the body heat of the #pony, and #man, all belong to the same family.”

AZA auf Twitter: "The @detroitzoo recently welcomed an orphaned grizzly bear cub from Alaska. Too young to be alone, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game placed him at the Zoo. Jebbie has moved in with the zoo's polar bear cub, Laerke, and they are BEARy good friends! https://t.co/gqKKE3ozmo https://t.co/4hIkNna1oI" / Twitter

Books that I read in 2021 - number 21:

This is a book just translated into German by the French anthropologist Nastassja Martin entitled "Believing in the Wild". She describes the impact of a fight with a bear on a research trip in Kamchatka that will change her life. The book was a big hit in France and I also read it through in two days, completely fascinated. I love books that challenge me and broaden my horizons. This is exactly that kind of book.
