Good things happening in NY Courts. "terrific things" as a judge lets loose on #truth, oversees #TrumpVirus assets, blasts DJTJ, and notes how James is overwhelmingly likely to show a preponderance of evidence sufficient to indict. The judge also appeared to frown on Trump’s decision to invoke the Fifth Amendment more than 400 times during his deposition in the case.
He wrote that he was “persuaded” to “draw a negative inference” from Trump’s repeated refusal to answer questions during the deposition. “For example, when asked if he knew that each SFC from 2011 through 2021 contained false and misleading valuations and statements, Mr. Trump invoked his right against self-incrimination,” the judge wrote, adding that he also invoked the Fifth Amendment when asked if he instructed any Trump Organization employees to “inflate the asset valuations” in the Statement of Financial Condition between 2011 and 2021. Concluded the judge, “Although the above examples are by no means exhaustive, they are more than sufficient to demonstrate [James’s] likelihood of success on the merits.”
Judge Engoron was also unequivocal about issuing the preliminary injunction, as requested by James, to prevent Trump from selling his assets without court approval. “In the absence of an injunction, and given defendants’ demonstrated propensity to engage in persistent fraud, failure to grant such an injunction could result in extreme prejudice to the people of New York,” he wrote. “Further, the relief sought is appropriately tailored to curbing unlawful conduct and ensuring that funds are available for potential disgorgement at the conclusion of this case.”
No wonder Trump is reportedly getting ready to announce a new run for the presidency. There’s probably no better way for him to stay the legal forces lining up against him than to claim he can’t be prosecuted because he’s a 2024 presidential candidate. Will this ever end?

Interesting, and maybe frighteningly accurate. After #TrumpVirus and #DeathSantis demolish each other (or Trump is finally in a penal or psych institution), there will still be many angry, delusional, armed MAGATs with no cult leader to thoughtlessly follow. (DeSantis?)
But if/when the #GQP party implodes altogether, and the crazy talk of rigged elections and conspiracy abates, yes, some will 'go rogue' and with so much armament and craziness out there, it may not bode well. "We'll see what happens".

Many people use and refer to it, many people ignore it or find it aversive...
But whatever one's relation to it, a regular source of info, social contact with large audiences, getting likes/follows, or seeing cartoons - Twitter has been a known entity, in its last glory days with layers of celebrities and power users and mere mortals selectively tuning in.
So now, while it's not my home turf and I'm just a speck of dust in the wind, I watch it as a social scientist and chronicler of social media. And my subjective filters include personal recollection of having a platform I and many actively used and loved for 8 years, exterminated by Google. Leaving a huge vacuum in Cyberspace and scattering people about, many 'homeless'.
This moment in time I feel bad both for employees, and for innocent users of the non-celebrity type, of which there are many, good people pursuing noble causes & topics (environment, animal rights, human rights, cooking tips, humor, sports, literature, etc.)
Some of these people worked for years, or just organically grew, large followings, just as many on Google+ did (communities, etc.)
And today across Twitter are posts like this, today being akin to the end days of Google+ (for me, anyway), watching the count-down clock to 'existential destruction' before are eyes as pieces went dead. At #Twitter, today remaining staff were unceremoniously locked out of work programs (some accounts of this, being signed off accounts etc.) Impacting employees, for sure. Upsetting many "on principle" with #Musk's inane, naive, and powered-by- #TrumpVirus posts and proclamations, tearing down the Town Square and then charging its star attractions for their name verification (rather than being paid, as suggested by King), and as people leave, talk of two tiers, changing its core functions/services, and otherwise driving "woke" people away. Maybe it's his intent (like 'catch & hold').
Anyway.... "just a thought". For many it's not set in, others are freaking and/considering "what next", "where now"....
Even the small fraction who rely on Twitter as a base for "social" more than informational/political/commercial uses - I feel bad for, having been there, done that. More than once. But Twitter, if I may quote the (real) President, is "a big f---ing deal". Sad to watch.
