Monastery of Santa Clara a Velha. Coimbra, Portugal.

Flooded and drowning in its own tears.
Abandoned, stripped of treasures, not even a bell in its bell tower
Silenced.
There are still some starry tiles on a wall
The color red made from drops of blood from human beings.
I think of those long ago workmen creating beauty with their
hard work, sweat and blood.
I walk with saintly ghosts, and together we look out of the windows.
One has a dainty, white handkerchief. She reaches out to
dry my tears.

From Ukraine, the war on Orthodoxy now pivots to Greece

From #Ukraine , the #war on #Orthodoxy now #pivots to #Greece #NATO #religion

"Greek police, at the instigation of #Patriarch #Bartholomew in Istanbul, recently made an aggressive attempt to occupy the #Orthodox #monastery #Esfigmenou, located on the territory of the autonomous monastic republic of Mount Athos. Their main objective was to forcefully eject the traditionalist monks who live and pray there. The secondary purpose of the raid was to create a pretext for permanently stationing Greek government forces in the proximity of each of the monasteries on the Athos peninsula. The disgraceful assault was a copy/paste replica of a similar operation that previously had been carried out by the Kiev regime against the monks of the Kiev Caves Lavra in Ukraine."

Monastery in Galicia

After 20+ years, with huge chunks of photography time turned to online forums (Flickr, G+, etc.), I've had a little time to look back at some of my pre-social media albums. I was curious how they'd display on the platforms (like this) I now use.

Perhaps ahead of my time, I designed these pages so you could just click (this was before the era of tapping on tiny screens) to take a self-tour around a labyrinth of related photos. I think it works great these days too. While there are text links (designed for big monitors), the "tap on the photos" self-touring works and can let you casually stroll around the globe, the world as seen by me. ;)
