IfNotNow : Chuck Schumer, Mike Johnson, Hakeem Jeffries, and Mitch McConnell will forever be remembered as the leaders who invited the war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu to give a speech to Congress in the middle of Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza, days after he crossed President Biden’s red line on an invasion of Rafah. This will be their legacy.

US is showing the world that EVERTYHING they have said about law and order, human rights, respect for international law and humanity is nothing but complete lie.

They are the most disgusting hypocrites with the power to control the world economy and military. Sadly, the leaders of Europe and most of the other countries are either complicit or cowards to stand up against them.

#Trump has been discussing with Elon #Musk for several months a possible appointment to the post of presidential adviser if he wins, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing sources.

And Musk himself also calls Trump several times a month.

They first met at a donor breakfast in early March at Trump's Florida residence. At the same time, the topic of the adviser was raised.

Trump wants to involve Musk in areas of the economy and the border with #Mexico, which the #SpaceX founder has publicly discussed. They also discussed the #US Space Force, electric vehicles and immigration.

"I don't accept genocide over fascism. I don't accept fascism over genocide."

This is how Trump wins!

I hate the system we have here in the US. Thinking like this is what will let Trump win this election.

Here's the thing, the Genocide will continue and likely succeed under Trump, but that won't be the end of it. Because HE will still be President, and we will never get a vote again.

So it's not #Genocide over #Facism. The Genocide is going to continue with or without the facism. However, you can stop the facism!

No, I do not support Either #Palestine or #Israel.

No, I do not support Either #Democrats or #Republicans.

I do, however, wish to keep living and have #HOPE that others can too. With one candidate I can have hope, the other, I'm dead.

If you want to understand the power of the Evangelical Christian Zionists in US and how they think, I would really recommend this old documentary from 2006.

The programme, presented by Tony Robinson, explored the role of “End Times” beliefs in the USA and Africa, and included interviews with a range of proponents and critics.

Robinson began by suggesting that “End Times” beliefs are politically very significant in the US, and scholar Paul Boyer was brought in to confirm this assessment. Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention was also keen to assert his political influence:

Reagan’s administration would take our calls, in Bush I they would sometimes take our calls, in this Bush administration his advisors call us. And they say, you know, what’s your take on this issue? What is your perspective on this issue? And that’s as they should do. I mean, you know, you need to pay attention to your base.

Robinson reminds us that Bush had called for Israeli withdrawal from large parts of the West Bank prior to the Iraq War, but that this had changed by 2004; the voiceover is complemented by a smug grin from Land, who goes on to explain that the US should not pressure Israel to do something which the Israeli government thinks is detrimental.

During Bush, after me and my wife moved out of US, I could clearly see how the religious lunatics were taking over key positions in the US and the language used by Bush and his people were like reminders of the past, from the time Khomeini and his goons were slowly trying to take over the country and get rid of all "liberal" and "leftist" influence in the society, the big difference was that US has a system that was based on rule of law, that could not be easily changed without major changes in key positions in police, military and judiciary system.

The documentary "Doomesday Code" was like an eye opener, something I had seen in the 1960s Iran and the way they were talking about Rapture and second coming of Jesus, was so similar to the words of Khomeini's followers about the return of Mahdi (the 12th imam) and the necessary steps that would show that it was going to happen. But the Doomsday Cult believe in a different pre-conditions, and instead of waiting for it, they are actively pushing for it, from destruction of the environment, militarism, destructive war in west Asia and the whole region involved in a never ending conflict "that burns the whole region down".

The Doomsday cult was the first in a series of documentaries I watched and the books I read. And saw it jumping into main stream with the birther movement and islamophobic and racist hate against Obama followed by election of Trump and his Mullah Omar Pense as his running mate and later the VP who made huge changes in many parts of the US, from small courts, to the supreme court followed by unconditional support of Israel and setting the stage for a future conflict with Iran.

What is the real source of these ideas that so many people attribute to the book of Revelation? Whoever wrote it sheltered in a cave on the Greek island of Patmos, probably a refugee from Roman occupied Palestine. He is also likely to have consumed the local hallucinogenic magic mushrooms. So rather than taking these bizarre visions literally, it might make more sense to try to understand them in their historical context.

There are some 40 apocalyptic books from this era but this was the only one that made it into the Bible. If the author was writing about the hated Roman Empire, it could be that the seven heads of the beast meant the seven emperors.

The mark of the beast could be the head of the emperor on the coins. The dreaded 666 very likely represented three letters indicating the Emperor Nero – representing letters by numbers was, and is, common in Hebrew. If so, instead of being a description of a world in chaos, it could be seen as a book of morality, optimism and faith.

Let’s hope the End Timers start to see it like that before their actions really do bring about the end of the world.

According to media reports, Senator Graham reportedly attacked UNRWA and allegedly claimed that the relief agency has taught Palestinian children to "kill all the Jews," leading to the organization being declared "dead to the US."

This occur amidst Israel's failure to provide evidence for its allegations and claims of certain organizations' involvement in the events of October 7th. As a result, all countries except the US have reinstated funding for #UNRWA.

#Trump and #Musk met on Sunday. Musk was among a group of potential donors to a presidential candidate who is now seeking funding for his campaign.

This was reported by Bloomberg and the New York Times, citing sources.

It is unclear whether Musk has agreed to fund Trump. Previously, he constantly criticized #Biden.

Trump's campaign budget is now much smaller than Biden's. Musk's money could give a "significant boost" to Trump's campaign, Bloomberg reads.

Suicide vs genocide: Rest in power, Aaron Bushnell

Bushnell’s extreme act of protest has put Western corporate media to shame.

On Sunday, February 25, 25-year-old active duty member of the United States Air Force Aaron Bushnell set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in the US capital of Washington, DC, in a one-airman revolt against the US-backed slaughter currently being perpetrated by the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip.

Over the past 143 days, Israel has killed nearly 30,000 Palestinians in the besieged coastal enclave. In video footage recorded prior to and during his self-immolation, Bushnell states that he will “no longer be complicit in genocide” and that he is “about to engage in an extreme act of protest – but compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonisers is not extreme at all”.

To be sure, Palestinians have long been accustomed to, well, burning to death at the hands of Israeli weaponry, ever since the state of Israel undertook to lethally invent itself on Palestinian land in 1948. The Israeli military’s use of skin-incinerating white phosphorus munitions in more recent years has no doubt contributed to the whole Palestinian “experience”.

After pertinently observing that US complicity in the genocide of Palestinians is “what our ruling class has decided will be normal”, Bushnell plants himself directly in front of the Israeli embassy gate – in full US military fatigues – and proceeds to douse himself with flammable liquid. As he rapidly burns to death, he repeatedly shouts: “Free Palestine”, while security personnel order him to get “on the ground”. One particularly helpful individual points a gun at the blaze.

In the aftermath of Bushnell’s self-immolation, the New York Times announced: “Man Dies After Setting Himself on Fire Outside Israeli Embassy in Washington, Police Say” – a rather strong contender, perhaps, for the most diluted and decontextualised headline ever. One wonders what folks would have said in 1965 had the US newspaper of record run headlines like: “Octogenarian Detroit Woman Dies After Setting Herself on Fire, Police Say – An Event Having Nothing Potentially To Do With Said Woman’s Opposition To The Vietnam War Or Anything Like That”.

Speaking of Vietnam War-related self-immolations, recall renowned US historian and journalist David Halberstam’s account of the 1963 demise in Saigon, South Vietnam, of the Vietnamese monk Thich Quang Duc: “Flames were coming from a human being; his body was slowly withering and shriveling up, his head blackening and charring. In the air was the smell of burning flesh; human beings burn surprisingly quickly… I was too shocked to cry, too confused to take notes or ask questions, too bewildered even to think”.

And while such an intense and passionate form of suicide is no doubt bewildering to many, genocide should be all the more appalling; as Bushnell himself said, self-immolation is nothing “compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine”, where people know all too well how quickly human beings burn.

In Bushnell’s case, the US political-media establishment appears to be doing its best to not only decontextualise but also posthumously discredit him. Time Magazine’s write-up, for example, admonishes that the US “Defence Department policy states that service members on active duty should ‘not engage in partisan political activity’” – as though actively abetting a genocide weren’t politically “partisan”.

Furthermore, the magazine specifies, US military regulations “prohibit wearing the uniform during ‘unofficial public speeches, interviews’”, and other activities.

Perhaps Bushnell’s ashes can be tried in military court.

At the bottom of the Time article, readers are charitably given the following instructions: “If you or someone you know may be experiencing a mental-health crisis or contemplating suicide, call or text 988” – which naturally implies that Bushnell was simply the victim of a “mental-health crisis” rather than someone making a most cogent and defiant political point in response to an extremely mentally disturbing political reality.

At the end of the day, anyone who is not experiencing a serious “mental-health crisis” over the genocide going down in Gaza with full US backing can be safely filed under the category of psychologically disturbed.

Of course, the US also perpetrated its very own genocide against Native Americans – another bloody phenomenon that has not been deemed worthy of diagnosis as a severe collective mental disturbance or anything of the sort. As per the official narrative, if you think it’s crazy for the US or its Israeli partner in crime to commit genocide, you’re the crazy one.

Coming from a family of US Air Force veterans myself – both of my grandfathers participated in the carnage in Vietnam – I have personally witnessed the psychological fallout that can attend service as empire’s executioners. Aaron Bushnell was meant to be a cog in the killing machine, but his principles cost him his life.

Indeed, according to a former colleague of Bushnell’s who worked with him to support the homeless community in San Antonio, Texas, he was “one of the most principled comrades I’ve ever known”. And while we journalists are supposed to be the ones speaking truth to power, suffice it to say that Bushnell has put Western corporate media to shame.

Rest in power, Aaron Bushnell.

Joe Biden just did the rarest thing in US politics: he stood up to the oil industry

The Biden administration suspended new permits for natural gas terminals. Can we see more of this kind of backbone?

Ten days ago Joe Biden did something remarkable, and almost without precedent – he actually said no to big oil.

His administration halted the granting of new permits for building liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminals, something Washington had been handing out like M&Ms on Halloween for nearly a decade. It’s a provisional “no” – Department of Energy experts will spend the coming months figuring out a new formula for granting the licenses that takes the latest science and economics into account – but you can tell what a big deal it is because of the howls of rage coming from the petroleum industry and its gaggle of politicians.

And you can tell something else too: just how threadbare their arguments have become over time. Biden has called their bluff, and it’s beautiful to watch.
