#Shatabhishak #Nakshatra is the 24th Nakshatra as per Hindu #astrology.

Shatabhishak is ruled by #Varuna, the God of the cosmic waters. Varuna is a Vedic deity associated initially with the sky, later also with the seas as well as Ṛta (justice) and Satya (truth). He is found in the oldest layer of Vedic literature of Hinduism, such as hymn 7.86 of the #Rigveda. He is also mentioned in the Tamil grammar work Tolkāppiyam, as the god of sea and rain. He is said to be the son of Kashyapa (one of the seven ancient sages)

In the Hindu Puranas, Varuna is the god of oceans, his vehicle is a Makara (crocodile) and his weapon is a Pasha (noose, rope loop). He is the guardian deity of the western direction. In some texts, he is the father of the Vedic sage Vasishtha.

Varuna is found in Japanese Buddhist mythology as Suiten. He is also found in Jainism

In the earliest layer of the Rigveda, Varuna is the guardian of moral law, one who punishes those who sin without remorse, and who forgives those who err with remorse. He is mentioned in many Rigvedic hymns, such as 7.86–88, 1.25, 2.27–30, 8.8, 9.73 and others. His relationship with waters, rivers and oceans is mentioned in the Vedas.]Vedic poets describe him as an aspect and one of the plural perspectives of the Agni, one of the Primary deity. For example, hymn 5.3 of the Rigveda states:

You at your birth are Varuna, O Agni.
When you are kindled, you are Mitra.
In you, O son of strength, all gods are centered.
You are Indra to the mortal who brings oblation.
You are Aryaman, when you are regarded as having
the mysterious names of maidens, O Self-sustainer.

#Uttaraphalguni #nakshatra is the 12th nakshatra out of the total 27 nakshatras. The deity God of this nakshatra is ‘ #Bhaga’, who is one of the 12 sons of Sun’s mother #Aditi.

Bhaga is the God of #happiness. This god is also referred as chayani #shakti, power is the giving of prosperity (through marriage or union). Its basis above is the wealth gained from one’s own family or from one’s partner. These together bring about the accumulation of #wealth.

In the #Rigveda, the personification of Lord Bhaga is attested primarily in RV 7.41, which is devoted to the praise of the Bhaga and of the deities closest to him, and in which the Bhaga is invoked about 60 times, together with #Agni, #Indra, the dual #Mitra- #Varuna, two #Ashvins, #Pusan, #Soma and #Rudra.

The 5th/6th-century BCE Nirukta (Nir. 12.13) describes Bhaga as the god of the morning. In the Rigveda, the Bhaga is named as one of the Adityas, the seven (or eight) celestial sons of Aditi, the Rigvedic mother of the gods. In the medieval Bhagavata Purana, the Bhaga reappears with the Puranic Adityas, which are by then twelve solar gods.

Bhaga God is referred Sauptika Parva of Mahabharata in which Rudra by anger plucks Bhaga’s eye when surplus shares of sacrifices were not shared correctly by Gods like Savitur, Pusha. Rudra cut of #Savitur hands and he took the teeth of the God Pushan

The god that lives on the #star #constellation of #Shatabishakh is #Varuna. Varuna is the god of the deep dark. Varuna rules the night and the deep dark seas.

Varuna rides upon #Makara the #crocodile. The crocodile is the animal associated with the #water ruled sexual Chakra. Makara is also the name given by Yogins to the zodiacal sign of Capricorn. The crocodile of Varuna implies the deep Saturnian energy that is required to protect the creative feminine essence of the watery Shakti Chakra.

Shatabishakh Nakshatra

THE #HEALING CIRCLE

#Shatabishak #Nakshatra is symbolised by a #circle with a dark centre. This circle is the circle of the Tantric Ritual.

when we look into the origins of #spiritual practices from all over the world, we see that the circle is a central principle from which they all came. The circle is a wheel that links diverse forces and contains a ritualistic focus within itself.

The centripetal force of the ritual circle is created by those who join in the circle. This force moves inwards towards the space in the center of the circle.

The contained space within the circle becomes a #vortex of #energy that echoes the received resonance of energy and sends it out as centrifugal force.

The space within the circle is the mystery at the center of the nucleus. The eye of the storm is a mystery to those spinning in the tornadoes of existence.

The central place within the circle is the #mystery. The mystery is the #unknown and #unseen place. The unseen place is the dark mystery, that just like the colour black, contains all shades within it.

The center within the circle becomes the altar that absorbs, contains and births all diversities and encases, or rather encircles them.

THE WATERY NIGHT FORCES

The god that lives on the star constellation of #Shatabisha is Varuna. Varuna is the god of the deep dark. Varuna rules the night and the deep dark seas.

Varuna rides upon Makara the crocodile. The crocodile is the animal associated with the water ruled sexual Chakra. Makara is also the name given by Yogins to the zodiacal sign of Capricorn. The crocodile of Varuna implies the deep Saturnian energy that is required to protect the creative feminine essence of the watery Shakti Chakra.

The Shakti Chakra, as illustrated below, shows the crocodile and the six petals of the lotus. Six is the number of Shukra (Venus) Venus rules sensuality and the sexual function, Shukra literally means sexual juice.

Varuna dwells in the West. The sun setting in the West is an indicator of Varuna coming into his power as the sun sets and the night forces take over.

Varuna has a best friend named Mitra, who is his opposite. Mitra rules the daytime where Varuna rules the night.

Varuna and Mitra are bound together in sacred oath of friendship. Their friendship is so deep that it keeps the universe in equilibrium.

Varuna translates as the one who covers and conceals. He covers the sun as it sets and brings darkness by his concealing power of nightfall.

Mitra on the other hand, causes the sun to rise. Mitra uncovers and reveals as the root ‘Mi’ in his name implies, Mitra is said to never close his eyes.

Mitra is the deity who assists the activating of the solar forces, and Varuna assists in activating the lunar forces.

These two opposite forces are tied together in deepest friendship as they keep the cosmological order of Rtta. Rtta is the rhythmical, regulating principle of cosmological order.

Varuna is the deity of the depths and the waters that cover the earth and move with the dance of the Moon. Varuna rules the creatures of the deep subterranean watery underworlds. Much of the depth of sea is a yet unexplored territory for most humans. Varuna is the initiator who reveals the depths.

Out of interest, we find that Shatabishakh Nakshatra is within the zodiacal sign of Aquarius, Aquarius being the water bearer of of Western astrology bears a fluid relation to the watery Varuna. In the Yogic language, this is the sign called Kumbh, this means the pot that pours the fluid of healing upon all beings.

#RAHU THE HEALER

The ruling planet of Shatabishakh is none other than Rahu, the solar eclipsing North node of Moon.

Rahu is the head without a body. Rahu has no fear because nothing can poison him, he can consume whatever he wishes and it simply passes through him.

In Shatabishakh, Rahu brings the power and courage to drink anything, both medicine and poison.

Though Rahu is often considered a negative force, it must be seen that he be a powerhouse of force. Rahu magnifies whatever he touches and the energy of wherever he is gets magnified and multiplied. Just like Shatabishakh Nakshatra, Rahu has the power to cover the sun.

His endless appetite calls in more and more. Rahu squeezes out the very last drop by his will for consumption, even if there is seemingly nothing there, Rahu will squeeze out that which can’t be seen.

This force can be creative or destructive depending on how it is applied and approached.

#CROW POWER

Rahu is connected to the master healer that is the Crow. The Crow can take anything and transform it into nourishment. Crows are often connected with and fed in the rituals of the potent dark shadow casting planets and deities such as Saturn, Rahu and Ketu.

A common remedy to balance the forces of Rahu, Saturn and Ketu is to feed Crows and pay attention to their teachings.

The Crow is not afraid to get its beak dirty, the Crow has no fear. This is a quality needed to reach the depths of healing.

When we resist, block and fear things, we end up denying our power is we turn away.

The Crow is the great healing spirit on account of its lack of fear. The crow will ever turn away, and will eat everything. Crow puts its beak where others fear to peck.

DARK POWER

Let us now consider the meaning of the name Shatabishakh and get a a further insight of the energy that it transports.

The word Shatabishakh is an amalgamation of two words. Shata means a hundred, or hundreds, and Bishakh means healer. This is the constellation of healing power, as well as the remedies and tools of effecting healing.

This constellation is the hundred #healers or the hundredfold healer. The hundred healers of Shatabishakh can just as well bring on a hundred ills, as they can a hundred healings. This Nakshatra can trigger the underworld shadows of the deep sedimentary emotional waters and cause them to surface.

Varuna is a good who holds the noose in his hand and captures the parts of us that escape vision. Varuna has the ability to see in the dark and encircle that which is out of sight. He has the power to teach us the mysteries of the sacred night forces by revealing the dark that lives within his darker skies.

When we come to healing, it is not always a sweet and joyful affair. The dental surgeon might lead to healthy teeth, but the iron implements might fist scour upon flesh and nerve!

Now let us conclude by considering that Varuna is described as the master healer who has hundreds of remedies at his disposal.

Tantra is healing, and healing is #Tantra.

#PURVA ASHADA #NAKSHATRA
Watery Star of Hopeful Urge
“By the Power of the unstoppable urge
Now you can drink it or you can nurse it,
It don’t matter how you worship
As long as you’re
Down on your knees.
So I knelt there at the delta,
At the alpha and the omega,
At the cradle of the river and the seas.
And like a blessing come from heaven
For something like a second
I was healed and my heart
Was at ease.”

L. Cohen – Light as a Breeze

Purva Ashada Nakshatra is in the constellation of Sagittarius and brings clearing, cleansing purification. The deity of this Nakshatra is Apa, she is the cosmological river Goddess of fresh water and the lover of Varuna the god of the seas.

Losing one’s individuality and merging into the greater sea of being, is the energy that this Star brings to us. This is a Shukracharia (Venus) ruled Nakshatra and rules conception. The river wishing to rush to meet the ocean is relatable to the urge of the sperm moving to meet the ovum.

“Purva Ashada Nakshatra
brings fluidic transitions
just as the inherent symbolism
of the river Delta…
where one water body
loses its identity for another.”
Transition from individual states of being to awareness of more expansive states of being comes from a losing of established identities. By purification of the subconscious sediment that we carry, we rush into the vaster ocean of reality. It is interesting to note that a river delta is also a place where underwater sediment in most pronounced.

Our subconscious sediment colours and expresses itself in the rivers of our being. Transition to new states of being come as things are resolved and purified from the underground. This is the lesson that Purva Ashada Nakshatra brings to us – That we have to leave some things behind if we are to come into more fluid states of being. Figuratively speaking – surface skiing upon the water does nothing to really resolve ones Karmic themes, though it certainly gives the feeling of moving.

On the path of a Tantra, the Yogin is careful to not exchange superficial surface maneuvers for the introspective healing work of facing the deep dark depths.

Bhairav Astami
The science of lunar houses is very detailed and subtle because it is dependent upon which Moon phase transports the energy to earth. Uttara Ashada Nakshatra occurring upon

“The Bhairav Astami
of half descending Moon
brings a movement
of unconscious sediment
and offers a transition
out of individual unconscious patterns
into a new sea of being.”
Bhairav is the deity who makes us face that which we fear, that which we turn away from and do not wish to face becomes our unconscious shadow that lives in the depths, and just like the undercurrent, it informs all the maneuvers of our consciousness.

Bhairav Astami has been ritualized by Yogins since time immemorial as a Moon day for accessing the unseen and unconscious shadow elements of our reality.

The occurrence upon Bhairav Astami of Purva Ashada Nakshatra is a time of working ritualistically with water. There are many inner and outer practices in Tantra that work with the healing powers of water.

The Gurus of Creation
Purva Ashada is under the rule of the 2 Gurus. #Venus is #Shukracharia, the #Guru of the #Asuras, and #Brhaspati ( #Jupiter) is the Guru of the #Devas. The Asuras are the dualised creative energies of the egg that splits upon fertilisation. The spermatozoa is the Devic singular force. We see that Purva Ashada is ruled by the Venusian Guru Shukracharia and is in the constellation of Sagittarius.

The stories tell that Shukracharia has in his possession a magical power that puts him in the possession of abilities that make him superior. It is the power of Sanjeevani Vidya that he possesses. This is the wisdom and power of bringing the dead to life. Shukracharia it is who brings life to the soul in an eternal circle of life and death.

“The seed holds the spirit,
but the egg is the doorway
of Sanjeevani
that permits incarnation.”
#Purva-Ashada Nakshatra is an auspicious time for the conception of a child, as power is given to the ovum and the spermatozoa. This Nakshatra brings the energies of Venus and Jupiter together, these planets are dualistic forces that if brought together result in creation.

Mythology & the Watery World
When Venus and Water Meet we get the mermaid, hence the star of Purva Ashada being connected to the Yakshinis, who are the elemental spirits connected to the water element in the unconscious. The Yakshinis stir in their depths when this Nakshatra is present.

The Yakshinis are the sexual elemental spirits of the second water ruled Shakti Chakra.

“Some aspects of Tantra
work with summoning & evoking
these sexual beings.”
The picture above is called Hylas and the Nymphs by the British painter John William Waterhouse. The Naiads are the water nymphs of Greek mythology. This story presents many poignant themes of Purva Ashada Nakshatra. The story tells how Hylas was on a search for fresh drinking water when came to an enchanting pond where the Naidas lured him in with their beauty.

The Naidas are similar to the Yakshinis of the unconscious watery worlds. They are energies that can lure us in by the promise of something wonderful.

The Yakshinis in the Indian mysteries offer treasure, pleasures and powers untold by those who find them, but like the story of Hylas, they can submerge us in an elemental world and keep us from fulfilling our karmic tasks. Hylas was looking for fresh water for the team of Argonauts but he never returned. We see him holding a jug of water in his left hand, the pond abounds with water lillies which interestingly are called Nymphaeaceae in Latin.

The tree of Purva Ashada Nakshatra is called the #Sita-Askhoka #tree. The stories tell us that the Ashoka forest was where Sita was kept captive by Ravan when he kidnapped her. The Expansive urge of Ravan was enticed by the Venusian caverns of Sita. Sita literally means a cavernous incline and is suggestive of the female Yoni. The Venusian ovum draws the expanse Jupitarian force, Ravan was so overcome that he stole her away. This is the theme of the Epic Ramayana.

The Ashoka is the tree that is sacred to the sensual water nymphs known as the Yakshinis. The Yakshins dwell in the deep unconscious levels of the inner world. Tantrics who make the unconscious conscious are able to see into the world of the Yakshins. Some Tantric magicians work primarily through Siddhis (powers) they gain from these elemental beings. Tantrics consider it a dangerous practice to enter into union with the elemental world for magical powers. It carries many dangers and karmic consequences for the soul.

We see in many fairy stories that humans become submerged in the fairy realm to their detriment. The story of the Fisherman and his Soul by Oscar Wilde hi-lights this allure of the elemental world wonderfully. The occult novel of the Sea priestess by Dion Fortune also covers the theme of elemental possession. The well known story of the Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson reverses the polarities and tells of a Mermaid who comes to the human world as opposed to the other way round.

Shooting Off
This Star brings a strong sense of Tapasya – this is quality of ruthlessness and fearless voyage towards the unseen. A yogin is for this reason called a Tapasyin. The word Asha in Ashada means hope and urge. This watery lunar house brings a battle like rush of water. It is activates the urge of the spermatozoa to merge with the ovum.

“The Ovum is Shukracharia (Venus)
and the Spermatozoa is Brhaspati (Jupiter).”
The urge to rush into the realms of life can become dispersing to our Shakti if we are focused on barren pursuits. Whether physically or psychically… we become aware of the nourishing or vampiric quality of our pursuits as the unconscious becomes conscious. When we gain insight into the motivation behind our urges, we come to see the mechanism of how they express into the fabric of our lives and the resultant effect thereof upon the Shakti we carry.

Brhaspati (Jupiter) is the biggest planet in our solar system. He abounds with an abundance of boundless energy. Purva Ashada is a time to study the focus of our urges. As this star is in the Brhaspati (Jupiter) ruled constellation of Sagittarius, the tendency to shoot out is pronounced. Under this star in concentrated ritual – Tantrics make a pronounced focus upon reversing the outward tendency of motion known as Privritti to the inward energy known as Nirvritti.

Brhaspati (Jupiter) is the ruler of Sagittarius. Brhaspati is the expansive energy of subtle wisdom, that is why he is the Guru of the Deva’s. The energy of Brhaspati is to expand and subtlety penetrate things. But the state of the fields of life that we are penetrating is to be taken into account, they will produce either barren or fruitful produce. The Tantric honours Shakti by discerning whether they are watering the field of death, or the field of life.

“The merging of the river
with the sea symbolism of this Nakshatra
is very much about the unconscious
becoming conscious.”
Remember the deity of this #star is #Apa, the #goddess of the #river. In the symbolism, she merges with the lover #Varuna the god of the #ocean through the releasing of parts of her identity that are born of unconscious imprints.

#nakshatra
enter image description here
The literal meaning of the word Shathatharaka is hundreds of stars. Another name for this is Shathabhisha Nakshatra in Vedic Astrology which means hundreds of physicians.

#Shatabhisha Nakshatra in Astrology is one of the Urdhvamukhi Nakshatras (or the Nakshatras which have their mouths upwards). In these Nakshatras, things related to palaces, coronations, boundary walls, construction of tall structures can be auspiciously begun and performed.

Symbol: An Empty Circle
The symbol for Shathabhisha Nakshatra is repeated motion or #empty #circle. This is because now the baby is practising inhaling and exhaling. This is a repeated action, and the lungs are a space. The baby is also sucking, gripping, and blinking. These are also repetitive actions.

Deity: The Indhra
Indhra is the deity of Shathabhisha Nakshatra, according to Veda. According to Bruhadh Jathaka, it is #Varuna. Both of them, Indhra and Varuna, are Aadhithya. Indhra suggests that all the Indhriya or organs are developed now. Varuna suggests that the phase is getting over, and the new phase is about to start.
The yoni animal of Shatabhisha Nakshatra is the female horse.
A horse has a great balance and fast ability to escape danger; they can sleep standing up or sitting down and reproduce at a very early age.
These are just some basic notes on horses.
A Shatabhisha native wants to finish things fast and as soon as possible.
They are excellent in averting danger, either physical or psychological.
Shatabhisha natives will start their puberty or menstrual cycle and become sexually active early in their life.
Shatabhisha natives find it easiest at any place to take a nap, whether it’s on an uncomfortable plane or in the comfort of their bedroom.
They use sleep as a way to gain energy and simply for pleasure.
Their main aim is to wake up as early as possible so that they can start running in the race of life.
A horse lacks a collarbone; hence, a Shatabhisha native may have weak collarbones.
The most distinctive feature of a horse is his muscles and endurance, which is widely known worldwide, so it’s obvious that a Shatabhisha dominated person has strong muscle tendons and the ability to work for longer and faster than others.
One word that comes to mind is “Horsepower”, which is used in describing the power of a car’s engine.
A horse is an extremely powerful animal that can kill a man with a single kick from his hind legs.
If we compare a horse’s body to a human, the horse’s hind legs are his actual legs, while the front two can be considered as arms.
A Shatabhisha native will have strong legs and thighs to help them run in sports.
The symbolism of this Nakshatra is an empty circle, which represents many things.
It can show an enclosed circle like a group, cult, or community where the individual attains hidden information. It can also represent a black hole as it is empty and dark in the middle.
Basketball is a sport where the ball is put inside the hole.
This symbolism shows that such people want to be within a boundary and surrounded by some protection from the world.
The deity of the Shatabhisha Nakshatra is Lord Varuna, the God of cosmic law, cosmic ocean and sky and is also one of the Adityas.
He rules the mysteries and the underground waters. He is associated with occult abilities, secrets and destiny.
Varuna rules over the West direction. He is the Lord of the underworld and healing as well.
Varuna is believed to have 1000 eyes, which are stars of the night sky. Varuna is also connected with Dakshinayana, the Sun’s movement in the southern celestial hemisphere.
He also carries the pot with the nectar of immortality, Amrit, and has the ability to give life and overcome death.
Varuna & Mitra are often invoked together, and Varuna is considered to be the night Sun or the dark Sun. He rides on crocodiles or makara-like animals.
Interestingly, Vedas also call him an asura. Another story we hear from different scholars is about how from an astral plane yagna, the celestial apsara Urvashi appears.
Mitra and Varuna were overwhelmed by her sexuality and ejaculated.
Their semen containing their sperms falls into a mud-pitcher, where the foetus of Agastya Maharishi is born.
He is born from the same jar as his sibling Vashishtha.
Agastya was born from the sperm of Varuna and Vashishtha from Mitra’s.
A love triangle theme can be generally seen with Anuradha and Shatabhisha natives.
Varuna is also known for carrying a pasa (noose), just like Nirritti and Yama.
Varuna used his pasa randomly to seize unsuspecting victims, while Yama used it to drag the soul of a dying person to hell.
Varuna is known to be equipped with shackles and staff, symbolizing his authority and commanding qualities.
The word Shatabhisaj is formed from two words, Shata (means hundred) and Bheesaj (healers).
Hence the literal meaning of Shatabhisha Nakshatra means 100 healers or 100 physicians.
It demonstrates Varuna’s ability of healing and regaining good health.
Varuna has a harsh, punishing ability along with a merciful and compassionate one.
In one of the stories, Sage Agastya is known to have drunk the entire ocean to expose the demon Kalakeya hiding in the ocean to be killed by the Devas.
Varuna is also supposed to have cursed his father, Kashyapa, along with his mothers, Diti & Aditi, to be born in the Earth plane for having stolen a cow from him to do a yagna.
The father was reborn as Krishna’s father Vasudeva, and his mothers were born as Rohini and Devaki.

The oceans, rivers, lakes, etc., are derived from this star, which signifies aquatic marine life.

Description of Shatabhisha Nakshatra in Vedic Astrology Treatise

The meaning of the word Aashadha is festival or procession and Purva Ashadha means before the procession. This is an indication that the key part of the baby’s growth in the foetus is over and the baby is getting ready for birth.

#PurvaAshadha #Nakshatra in #Vedicastrology is one of the Adhomukhi Nakshatras (or the Nakshatras, which have their mouths downwards). In these Nakshatras, things related to tanks, wells, temples, mining, digging, etc., can be auspiciously begun and performed.

Symbol: An Ivory
The symbol of Purva Ashadha Nakshatra is ivory. Ivory indicates the development of the brain and the soaking of calcium. Some people also consider the tusk of an elephant as a symbol of #Poorvashadha. This is an indication of the maturing of the lungs.

Deity: The #Varuna
Varuna is an Aadhithya. The meaning of the word Varuna is the one who covers or binds. Varuna is associated with the sky, sea, and water. His streak of demonic violent tendencies led to his demotion. He has comprehensive knowledge of many topics. The direction of Varuna is west. Varuna’s mount is Makara. Makara is a half terrestrial and half aquatic animal.

The yoni animal of Purva Ashadha Nakshatra is the #monkey.
The one thing known about monkeys from cartoons and tarzan movies is that they swing from one branch to the other as a way of travelling.
Monkeys are extremely clever when it comes to stealing food and anything they can get their hands on.
In India, some thugs even train monkeys to steal wallets and purses from people.
The Capuchin monkeys are extremely smart as they can make tools and use sign languages to get their projects done.
They are also very much into hygiene.
They will clean each other for bugs, lice or any other critter in their fur, which also allows them to socialize.
They enjoy living up high on tree branches and prefer to be as high as possible.
Knowing the qualities of a monkey, it can be learnt about Purva Ashadha natives that they can’t stick to one thing for a long time.
They either give it up or have it taken from them, which are truly seen in their career path.
They continuously get and lose a job.
Such people do better in places where projects change frequently or freelance work.
This does not mean if you have just one planet in the Purva Ashadha Nakshatra, your consistency in career is over; no, this only occurs when one goes through the dasha of the planet in Purva Ashadha or when the ascendant or Moon is in this Nakshatra.
It is like a monkey going from one branch to another.
The cleverness of the monkey gene doesn’t skip a beat in these natives.
They are extremely clever and strategic on every move.
They can pull any trick to achieve what they set out to do.
It’s not cheating, but they are 5 steps ahead like a champion chess player.
The symbolism of this Nakshatra is a winnowing basket or an elephant’s tusk (the themes and symbols of Purva and Uttara Ashadha are similar) or a hand fan.
The symbol of a winnowing basket is of refinement, cleansing and purifying.
It is used in India to separate small stones and particles from rice or wheat.
It’s a basket that requires strategic planning and movement to remove the chaff from grains; hence, Purva Ashada natives are natural strategists who know how to make any project clean and pure.
It’s very hard and strategic work to even make a winnowing basket for rice cleaning.
Lord Ganesha used the tusk or his tooth to write the Mahabharata text, which clearly shows the writing skills these natives possess, especially philosophical and theological writing.
There is a priestly quality to their writing as God Ganesha broke his tusk to use as a pen to write Mahabharata.
This story is about the epic battle between two families, including Lord Krishna.
Purva Ashada natives love reading and writing battle or war sagas. They love reading books like Sun Tzu’s The Art of War or Machiavelli’s The Prince.
The symbol of the fan represents comfort. When there was no electricity in the past, people fanned themselves, or someone else was appointed to do the job.
This shows the extravagant nature of Purva Ashadha natives.
They want comfort and the best of everything.
They want to be in the best hotel, best resort, have luxury items, accessories, and would like to fly in the first class.
Purva Ashadha natives must have these in order to feel normal, while others may feel normal in most ordinary conditions.
They are serial vacationers because they feel like crossing and being near the ocean.
The deity of the Purva Ashada Nakshatra is Apah, the cosmic waters.
Apah brings about the waters that inspire all of humanity.
Purva Ashada Nakshatra is also connected with the elephant-headed God, Ganesha, as he was the one who broke his tusk to write the Mahabharata.
The vanara sena, or the army of monkeys, assisted Lord Rama in his search for his kidnapped wife, Sita.
Lord Rama’s greatest devotee was Hanuman, whose mother was also a great devotee of Lord Shiva.
Hanuman is said to have created an alternative version of Ramayan, which surpassed the original version of Ramayana created by Sage Valmiki over a period of 12 years.
Valmiki was brought down to a mixture of joy and sorrow after reading Hanuman’s version and is said to have been perplexed by the magnitude of the work.
Hanuman inquired why the sage was bothered and simply threw his book into the ocean with the sage on his shoulder.
The sage said that he would be reborn in another age as Hanuman’s devotee and retell the Ramayana in a common person’s words.
This Nakshatra is also the birth star of Mars.
It can also be learnt from the mythology synopsis that Purva Ashada natives love being near water.
For them, water is a life force and not just a necessity.
Purva Ashadha natives will talk with their family members about how they want to go to the ocean for vacation and find a house near the ocean or river.
In the Ramayana, monkeys with Hanuman build the bridge between India and Sri Lanka. Similarly, these natives are able to accomplish the most challenging and unimaginable tasks with their cleverness and strategic intelligence.
This Nakshatra also occurs in the middle of the Sagittarius sign (natural 9th house in astrology), which means it is at the heart of the sign of higher education, higher knowledge, philosophy, wisdom and God’s devotion.
Purva Ashadha natives do excellent in such fields when planets like Jupiter, Mercury and Venus are placed in this Nakshatra.
The planet Mars is born on this Nakshatra. Hence, it is a Nakshatra of war.
Wars may start on this Nakshatra, as it needs a lot of strategic planning.
To win any war, one must first strategize before implementing any plan.
Attributes of Purva Ashadha Nakshatra in Astrology
Spread from 13’20” up to 26’40” in Sagittarius (Dhanu) Sign.
Lord is Guru; the deity is “Varun’ (Lord of the Waters), a ‘hand fan’ symbol.
Its attributes are extensiveness like that of the waters, concealment, protection of the dependant, firmness in danger, kindness, forgiving nature, power of endurance, biding time for opportunities for victory, declaration of war, the courage never to submit or yield, cold things, marine life, fish or anything concerning fish trade, bridge-making, fisherman’s occupation, the watery part of the human system, kidney trouble, things that float on waters including boats, ships and other vessels, mist, i.e. barges, all these things come within the purview of this star.
According to some, the deity of Purva Ashadha Nakshatra is ‘Daksha’, the son of Prajapati. He was the father of ‘Sati’; he was the most powerful among Gods but having incurred the displeasure of Shiva, he was beheaded and had a goat’s head in place of his own.
From this, it is possible to ascribe attributes like truth, desire and other qualities of Puru, Kuru, Pururaba and others to this star.
Description of Purva Ashadha Nakshatra in Vedic Astrology Treatise
According to Hora Sara: The native born in Purva Ashadha Nakshatra will be firm in friendship, modest, will have many sons, lead men, be intelligent, will consume savoury food, will have pleasure from wife and will be dear to the king.
According to Jataka Parijata: If a native is born in the star Purva Ashadha, he will be uniformly well-behaved, endowed with a high sense of honor, well off, and calm minded.
According to Sage Narada: The native born in Purva Ashadha will derive sexual pleasures only from his spouse. He will be skilful, firm in friendship, will incur grief, be heroic and honourable.
According to Brihat Samhita: The native born under Purva Ashadha will have an amiable and jolly wife, will be proud and firm in friendship.

#Vedic #Astrology assigns deities to #planets, and according to the #ancient #palm #leaf called Vasistha Nadi, the names of the grahas or planets (yet to be discovered) would be #Prajapati ( #Uranus), #Varuna ( #Neptune), and #Yama ( #Pluto). As Neptune is moving from #Aquarius to Pisces, we focus on the effects of Neptune, with Varuna as Presiding Deity.

enter image description here
Varuna Peyarchi: Neptune to Pisces
On 18-19 February 2023, Neptune transited from Aquarius to Pisces and is currently sandhi 0.00° Pisces (deprived of energy) where it will remain for a little more than three weeks. Sandi means “deprived of energy” so the effect of Neptune moving to Pisces will not be pronounced for some time.

As referenced earlier, we look to outer planets when they change signs. Neptune has capacity for non-attachment, infinite love and beauty, charity, altruism, bliss and rapture, and awareness of divinity, transcendence of duality.

Neptune likes to transcend, to merge, to flow, to melt, to yield. Neptune can accept changes, allow a changing environment, and can love selflessly and impersonally. This is an important capacity of Neptune, for most young people and youth take love as a matter of possession and territory – possession of someone’s mind, and territory of their body. Nothing could be further from love. Dreams of love and idealism, infatuation and attachment all have to have both feet on the ground and squarely detached with your own boundaries intact around YOU.

Neptune is traditionally seen as the planet that imagines, envisions, dreams and inspires. While Neptune offers all that, and more: to fantasize, to heighten, one has to keep their feet on the ground or end up helpless, spaced out, dissolving into chaos, and prey to drugs and the unconscious mind. One can self-destruct, abdicate all responsibility and end up sabotaging themselves. While Neptune – always near the Collective Unconscious – offers access to the psychic realms, and psi experiences – these can all be achieved with self discipline, self-control and self-respect. Psychedelic drugs and the like are not necessary to achieve this. You can reach the same high meditating as those people who tell they get a high using bongs.

What will Neptune’s transit in Pisces bring? One would hope for a gentler, kinder, more spiritually inspired world. However, this is not historically what we have seen before. Neptune represents secret plots, rebellions, and sedition, and Neptune in Pisces will be a time of tremendous idealism associated with an urge to dissolve tired old paradigms and world views in favour of a more charitable universal vision. We live in an era where significant changes have taken place (our great-grandparents would not recognise our modern, electronic world – except, perhaps, for the radio and print news. So much has changed with living, co-habitation, housing, working, travel, child-care centres and the gig economy.

Pisces is a water sign, a moksha sign, and harbours great spiritual awareness, creative achievement, and compassionate action. But when disconnected from the All, from peers, society and culture, in its lower expression, Pisces has a tendency for escapism, deception, and delusion. This is the signification of the fish going in two directions, we can pull towards separation and duality, we can pull towards the experience of everything is Atma, and the lifting of the veil of illusion.

#Neptune in #Pisces provides the impetus towards transcendence of duality, unity consciousness, surrender and non-attachment. So Neptune in Pisces seeks to transcend, to merge, to surrender, to sacrifice, to let go and let God. On the other hand, Neptune seeks to dream, to inspire, to glamorise, to idealise, to imagine, to envision, to fantasise, to intuit, to enchant, to beguile. In summary, the positive benefits of Neptune are accessed when we are grounded and following dharma.
About #Lord #Varuna
Lord Varuna
Lord Varuna is revered in Hinduism as the God of water and his sway extends to the underwater world. The Hindu Goddess Varuni is his consort and a Makara serves as his mount. According to the Puranas, he is the son of sage Kashyapa and one of the twelve Gods considered as Adityas, owing to their origin from the Mother of Gods, Aditi. Varuna possesses the lordship of the waters and was entrusted with the task of overseeing the clouds and rains. He is thus known as the king of waters and controls the Oceans, Seas, Rivers, and all other water bodies. During the Mahabharata period, the great Pandava, Arjuna was hailed as the son of Lord Varuna. It is also widely believed that praying to him protects us from thunder and lighting.

#Sanskrit Name: शतभिषा (Shatabhisha) comes from the Sanskrit words शत (one #hundred) and भिषज् (remedy). One meaning of Shatabhisha is “a hundred cures,” indicating strength, perceptivity, and an aptitude for healing.

Planetary Ruler: #Rahu. The planet Rahu is equated with the North node of the moon and is described in the Vedas as the disembodied head of the demon Rahu. Vedic lore describes that eclipses occur when the sun or moon is swallowed by the head of Rahu. Rahu is associated with trouble, disease, and radical change.

Nakshatra Group: Monstrous. Nakshatras are divided into three classes — monsters, humans, and gods. Shatabhisha is a monstrous nakshatra. People in this group are generally intuitive, strong-willed, and assertive. They may be prone to anger and violence.

Zodiac Sign: Aquarius. Aquarians are intelligent, idealistic, determined, and philosophically-inclined. They are often involved in charitable work or other spiritual or humanitarian endeavors.

Deity: #Varuna. In Vedic theology, Varuna is the god of the #water element and all bodies of water, such as rivers, lakes, and oceans. He also is the lord of aquatic beings.

Symbol: An #empty #circle. This represents the unknown, mystery, and self-containment.

Power: To cure. Persons born under the star of #Shatabhishak are natural healers, and they can excel in professions related to the #healing #arts.

Resonant Syllables: In India, the birth nakshatra is traditionally used as one means of choosing the name of a child. The corresponding syllables for the four quarters (padas) of Shatabhisha are Go (गो), Sa (सा), See (सी), and Sue (सू). The syllable of a person’s first name is sometimes used when calculating an astrological chart if the time of birth is unknown.

Strengths
Those born under the star of Shatabhisha are ambitious and driven souls. They set their sights on a goal and then work hard to achieve it. In addition, they also work well on their own, without much assistance from others. They are easily able to organize their thoughts, lay out their priorities, and proceed step by step in a systematic way. Thus they bring a real power to whatever project they choose to take up.

Shatabhisha natives are attracted to the mysterious side of life. They may have a keen interest in mysticism, and they are often deeply religious. However, they may prefer not to participate much in the social aspect of worship and instead focus on their own private spiritual practices.

You are a perceptive and thoughtful person, and you want to make a meaningful contribution to the world. By staying grounded and maintaining daily self-care practices, such as meditation, exercise, and spending time in nature, you can maximize your strengths while minimizing your negative tendencies.

Shatabhisha Careers
Persons born in Shatabhisha can do well in careers that involve helping others or are in some way pioneering. Their career may start off slow, but it will improve as they get older and learn from their experiences.

Some ideal professions include:

Clerical worker or data scientist
Pharmacy technician, herbalist, chemist, or scientist
Healer, mystic, monk, or philosopher
Astronaut, pilot, or air force service member
Weaknesses
Shatabhisha natives’ natural self-confidence can sometimes lead them to act rudely or speak harshly with others. They may not recognize the consequences of their actions until it is too late. This can lead to feelings of apathy or depression. They are also prone to feeling misunderstood, restricted, and lonely.

Shatabhishas tend to have an addictive personality type. They are not afraid to go to extremes, even if this might have a negative impact on their health and well-being. The cruel streak that comes up from time to time with others can also turn inward, taking the form of a self-destructive mentality. They may get stuck in a rut and feel helpless to access their inner strengths and connect to God or their higher power.

You like to make decisions quickly, based on what feels right in the moment. However, it is important to remember that your intuition and instinct should always be balanced by careful reasoning and especially guidance from friends, family, and mentors who genuinely care about your welfare.
