On September 11th, #2008, #Mohawk leader Splitting the Sky ( #JohnBoncore Hill) spoke on Parliament Hill as the final speaker at the 'March on #Ottawa for 9/11 #Truth', and he began to name the names of those benefited financially from the attacks of 9/11/2001, and to expose them (companies, individuals, countries and agencies) as being the real perpetrators. He also made a call to action to apprehend the individuals, because the official authorities have failed to do so. Highlights of that speech are included at the beginning of this video.
A few days later, we went to Mohawk territory in #Khanawake, near #Montreal and we conducted an on-camera #interview (*) in which Splitting the Sky systematically went through his research, naming the names and exposing the agenda. He stated the risks which he faced for making these statements, but felt 100% certain about his conclusions, and stressed the importance of bringing out this information. He stated that attempts have been made on his life in the past, in his years of activism, and that he did not fear death.
Several times over the years, Splitting the Sky had said to several friends, "If someone tells you that I died from a slip and fall – don't believe it."
On March 13th, 2013, he was #found #dead in a secluded area of his hometown of Chase, BC. Media reports say that he likely slipped, fell, and died of a resulting head wound.

Vor rund zwei Wochen hatte ich eine Tagstour mit den Fahrrädern erwähnt und bebildert, mit der wir eine vor vierzehn Jahren gefahrene Tour in diesem Frühjahr wiederholt haben, incl. eines Mittagsessens in Grignan. Nun zeige ich ein paar Bilder von der damaligen Tour, dann eine grafische Darstellung beider Touren.

Wie Tafelberge wirkende kleine Hügel, deren Hochfläche dann z.B. ein grosses Lavendelfeld ist, sieht man in der Gegend häufiger.
Eine mit Brouter nachgezeichnete Route der von Nyons aus gefahrenen Strecke ist dies hier:
Nyons -> Taulignan -> Grignan -> Valreas -> Vinsobres -> Venterol -> Nyons
Ein Bild davon hatte ich mit dem Kommentar "Schön war's" schon mal gezeigt. :) Damals hatten wir keine Gelegenheit, zu kurzer Urlaub und ungeeignetes Wetter.

ist ein nettes kleines mittelalterliches Städchen. Hier sieht man eines der Stadttore. Die meisten Touren haben uns in diesem Mai da durchgeführt. Normalerweise fährt man mit dem Fahrrad aussenherum, aber interessanterweise kommt man selbst dann, wenn sich am Markttag die Leute um die Parkplätze prügeln, mit den Rädern auch recht gut hinein. I.W. liegt es daran, dass es immer mehr als einen Weg zum Ziel gibt, der durchgängig ist, weil irgend ein Auto den Zugang blockiert hat. :-) Aufgefallen ist uns das, als wir bei einer diesjährigen Tour und schon auf der Rückfahrt bemerkten, dass Markttag war und ein paar Frischwaren für das Abendessen nicht schlecht wären. Zu spät geschaltet: der Markt war genau auf der anderen Seite und der Ring ist größtenteils Einbahnstraße - also mittendurch. Wenn man sich damit abfindet, kaum schneller zu fahren als ein Fußgänger läuft, sein Rad beherrscht und rücksichtsvoll fährt, geht das und macht bei den 200-300 Metern keinen Unterschied.
Wenn ich mir ein wenig Mühe gebe, passt in meine Ortlieb-Lenkertasche eine Menge zusätzlicher Kram hinein, ausserdem habe ich bisweilen einen kleine, zusammenfaltbare Tasche in der Trapeztasche am Oberrohr, die man als Rucksack verwenden kann. Nichts für lange Fahrten, aber für die verbliebenen fünf Kilometer war das überhaupt kein Problem. Zehn Kilo Kartoffeln hätte ich so nicht transportieren wollen, dafür nehme ich das Hollandrad - damit möchte man aber keine solchen Touren fahren, nicht mal dann, wenn sie nur 60 km und 700 Hm umfassen.

Damals hatten wir noch unsere alten, Mitte der Neunziger gekauften Rennräder, weniger hügeltauglich als die derzeitigen, die jetzt auch schon zwölf Jahre alt sind. Aber damals waren wir ja auch noch etwas jünger. 2008 bin ich noch jeden Tag mit dem Rad zur Arbeit gefahren, knapp 25 km und 150 Höhenmeter, bei trockenem Wetter mit diesem Rennrad, sonst mit einem Reiserad, auch mit Rennlenker und 3x10, aber Lenkerendschalter, Gepäckträger vorne und hinten sowie Plastikschutzbleche.
