The new #album from #anarcho-punk favourites #OmegaTribe is something of a musical departure from the band’s 80s past. While they still sing about freedom, peace and unity this is more of a kick back and chill out album for aging anarchos. Reviewed by Nathan Brown.

Definitely one of the more #melodic of the bands associated with #Crass and the “anarcho-punk” scene, #Omega #Tribe have to a degree regenerated themselves but still attract a lot of interest based on their 1980s past. In that 80s scene, #punk was largely responsible for connecting a lot of young #people with the peace movement and giving it more energy. The CND sign was side by side with the circled A on most punk’s jackets and many a record sleeve. We didn’t just want #anarchy, we wanted #peace too
and equality! In terms of keeping that message alive, title track New Peace Movement is an exemplar.

Lyrically this stands alongside the classic Angry Songs EP and No Love Lost LP. This album is not all socio-political stuff, though. Many of the songs are more about personal relationships, trauma and angst, and the music reflects this.

It doesn’t feel right to label this release as punk – it is musically much more diverse than that label. Not that something has to be punk for you to like it (First rule of punk, don’t let people tell you what you’re allowed to like. Second rule of punk, there are no rules). I’d suggest 4 of the 12 tracks fit the “punk” label. The title track. The angry enunciated kick back against racism in Ain’t Gonna Let ‘Em (after a deceptive Britpoppy start). Then there is the anti-religious message of Shit (“Don’t Lay Your Shit On Me, Don’t Try and force me to believe Cos I will not see you in heaven”) which is a straight up 77 punk song in the tradition of Chelsea or Menace. Lies is in a similar vein, leaning a little more towards Buzzcocks to my ears.

Gratulation! Deutschland hat #2022 tatsÀchlich die #Klimaziele erreicht!

Kein Flachs, ich scherze nicht! Aber: Die Einsparungen sind vor allem der Industrie zu verdanken. Und es gibt auch Bereiche, wo mehr emittiert wurde, z. B. bleibt der Verkehr das Sorgenkind. Und das ist nicht etwa auf die schlechten Autos zurĂŒckzufĂŒhren, sondern schlicht auf die Anzahl.

Das habe ich ja auch immer wieder gesagt, aber aus irgendwelchen GrĂŒnden finden viele ein #Tempolimit viel wichtiger, als endlich mal die Anzahl der Autos auf deutschen Straßen drastisch zu reduzieren. Insbesondere in den Metropolen muss da dringend etwas geĂ€ndert werden. Wer da wohnt und trotzdem ein Auto hat, der sollte krĂ€ftig zur Kasse gebeten werden. Wenn ein Haushalt mehr als ein Auto hat, sollte dafĂŒr noch mal mehr kassiert werden. Und bitteschön: auf der Straße parken ist nicht und basta. Zumindest große Lieferwagen und Wohnmobile sollten in Metropolen nicht dauerhaft auf der Straße abgestellt werden dĂŒrfen.

Aber klar: Es muss sich endlich auch etwas beim ÖPNV tun. Und das geht einfach zu langsam. Es ist sogar so, dass es noch schlimmer geworden ist mit der Deutschen Bahn: noch mehr VerspĂ€tungen und anderes Ungemach, wie z. B. nicht funktionierende Mitteilungen ĂŒber die VerspĂ€tungen ĂŒber die App, Anzeigetafeln und Durchsagen. Jetzt habe ich es schon gut und wohne nur 10 Minuten Fußweg vom Bahnhof entfernt, aber ich kann sagen, dass Bahnfahren trotzdem meistens kein VergnĂŒgen ist. Ganz im Gegenteil, man hat Angst: Angst davor, dass man den Anschlusszug nicht kriegt und dann in irgendeinem Pimmelskaff Stunden lang auf einen Zug wartet. NatĂŒrlich in der KĂ€lte, denn gescheite Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten fĂŒr Bahnreisende gibt es ja kaum.

Deutschland, es gibt noch viel zu tun. Aber hallo.

Deutschland hat sein Klimaziel fĂŒr das Jahr 2022 geschafft und weniger Treibhausgase ausgestoßen als im Jahr zuvor. Zu verdanken ist das vor allem einem RĂŒckgang bei der Industrie - Sektoren wie Verkehr und Energie emittierten dagegen mehr.

Washington and its allies have raised fears that the upsurge in violence in the Donbass could form part of a Russian pretext to invade Ukraine. Tensions are already high over a Russian military buildup to the north, east and south of Ukraine."

Razzie Awards: Tom Hanks, 'Blonde,' 'Morbius' lead nominations for worst of the year

Morbin' Time is over, folks.

After horrid reviews and a box-office bloodbath, Jared Leto's vampiric antihero "Morbius" got another nail in the coffin with Monday's Razzie Awards announcement, earning five nominations including worst picture and worst actor (Leto). 

But the memeable Marvel spinoff was hardly the Razzies' most hated film of last year. That would be Netflix's "Blonde," a historical fiction drama about Marilyn Monroe (played by Ana de Armas) that polarized critics with its gratuitous nudity, sexual violence and seemingly anti-abortion stance. The film topped the nominations with eight, including worst picture, worst director (Andrew Dominik) and worst screenplay. 

De Armas, who has picked up Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards nods for her performance, was excluded from the worst actress lineup.

Tom Hanks, meanwhile, wasn't so lucky. The A-lister received nominations for worst actor ("Disney's Pinocchio," playing Geppetto in a live-action remake) and worst supporting actor ("Elvis," portraying Colonel Tom Parker opposite Austin Butler's Presley). The two-time Oscar winner was also recognized in the worst screen couple category, along with his facial prosthetics and "ludicrous" accent in "Elvis." 

Other stars to incur the Razzies' wrath were Diane Keaton ("Mack & Rita"), Penelope Cruz ("The 355"), Sylvester Stallone ("Samaritan") and Colson Baker, better known by his stage name Machine Gun Kelly ("Good Mourning"). Baker's pal Pete Davidson also picked up two worst performance nominations for "Good Mourning" and "Marmaduke." 

The Golden Raspberry Awards – or Razzies for short – are voted on by roughly 1,000 members (a mix of moviegoers and those in the film industry), who pick what they deem the most dreadful that cinema has to offer. Now in its 43rd year, the show will announce its "winners" on March 11, the night before the Oscars.
