Recent studies suggest staying up-to-date on COVID shots helps protect high-risk groups from severe illness

New guidelines suggest certain high-risk groups could benefit from having another dose of a COVID-19 vaccine this spring — and more frequent shots in general — while the broader population could be entering once-a-year territory, much like an annual flu shot.

Medical experts told CBC News that falling behind on the latest shots can come with health risks, particularly for individuals who are older or immunocompromised.

"Even when the risk of infection starts to increase, the vaccines still do a really good job at decreasing risk of severe disease," said McMaster University researcher and immunologist Matthew Miller.

That means:
* Adults aged 65 and up.
* Adult residents of long-term care homes and other congregate living settings for seniors.
* Anyone six months of age or older who is moderately to severely immunocompromised.

Il se fait vacciner 217 fois contre la Covid-19 et ne développe pas d’effets secondaires

C’est l’histoire d’un Allemand âgé de 62 ans qui, pour des « raisons privées », s’est fait vacciner 217 fois en moins de deux ans et demi. Cet habitant de Magdebourg a reçu, en l’espace de 29 mois, le plus souvent alternativement dans le bras droit et le bras gauche, un vaccin contre le coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Les vaccins injectés étaient ceux fabriqués par Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Moderna, BioNtech (BNT, BNT-BA.4.5, BNT-BA.1, BNT-XBB.1.5) et GSK/Sanofi. Ce patient, qui aimait trop les vaccins, a donc reçu différentes formulations (vaccins à ARN messager et autres). Un sacré cocktail vaccinal, étalé entre juin 2021 et novembre 2023 !

Ce patient, volontairement vacciné de façon hors norme contre la Covid-19, montre donc qu’une vaccination exagérément répétée ne perd pas de son efficacité. En effet, le système immunitaire, loin d’être épuisé, réagissait encore à la 217e vaccination, entraînant une augmentation modeste des taux d’anticorps IgG anti-spike. Pour autant, les auteurs de l’étude allemande déclarent « ne pas recommander l’hypervaccination comme stratégie pour augmenter l’immunité adaptative ».

Reste à savoir si ces résultats peuvent être généralisables à tous ceux qui, par jeu et/ou inconscience et/ou intérêt financier, ont pu frauder et multiplier volontairement le nombre recommandé de vaccinations anti-Covid.

Devant les pressions reçues en retour, il a ensuite été rétracté unilatéralement par la direction de la revue Cureus le 26 février. Illustration dramatique de la censure sévissant jusque dans les institutions scientifiques (et répétition de ce que nous avions subi en France lors de l’été 2021 lorsque nous avions déjà fait ces constats sur le seul plan statistique).
