Palestinian Territory - The ongoing closure of the Rafah land crossing, which connects the #Gaza Strip to #Egypt, has resulted in a dire humanitarian crisis for Palestinian civilians and has accelerated the #genocide that has been taking place since 7 October.

By blocking the Rafah crossing, Israel has tightened its grip and imposed a crippling siege on the Gaza Strip, cutting it off from the outside world and resulting in the deaths of scores of injured and ill people. Additionally, the closure of the crossing has hindered the flow of humanitarian aid and medical supplies, further undermining the efforts of the few remaining local #hospitals.

Thousands of truck/trailers are stuck on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing since last week because of the Israeli occupation of the border. Most of the fresh products in the trucks have gone bad and there is a risk of other items to be destroyed if #Israel does not allow the help to get in.

Over 1 million Palestinians, most of the women, elderly and children are stuck in western #Rafah without access to food, medicine and water. The situation is getting worse every day as Israel keep bombing them and pushing forward with 100s of tanks and armored vehicles.

White House NSC spokesman: Israel's attack last night was limited to #Rafah

#Israel told us that the aim of this attack was to cut off #Hamas' ability to smuggle weapons and money into #Gaza.

It is like clock work, they always, always, always have excuses to justify criminal actions of Israel. By controlling the Rafah border, the lifeline of over 2 million Palestinians is completely in the hands of Israel and the few Palestinians who could leave the strait by bribing the Egyptian border guards, will no longer be able to leave the Israeli terror.

#Hamas, in an official statement, states that tomorrow they will send a delegation to #Egypt in order to examine and continue developing the deal, and that they received the offer with a positive attitude.

Hamas also states that they are eager to reach a deal that satisfies the demands of the Palestinian people:
- Complete stop of the war.
- Withdrawal of the #IDF from all of #Gaza.
- The return of all refugees to their homes (inside Gaza).
- A swap deal for prisoners.

The first 2 points are highly problematic for #Israel, thus I am very skeptical that a deal will be reached any time soon.

Israeli Channel 12 correspondent about Arab reports:

  • #Egypt invited senior #Israeli officials to visit Cairo, coinciding with the arrival of the #Hamas delegation, with the aim of saving time and providing the required clarifications to #Hamas.

  • #Hamas would like to clarify some of the phrases contained in the #Israeli proposal that express intentions or willingness to comply with some conditions, such as withdrawal from the Netzarim Corridor, the complete withdrawal from #Gaza, and stopping the war.

  • These are things that #Israel previously expressed its readiness for, but did not respond to, so #Hamas wants clarification of them before providing a final response.
