If traipsing round tropical rainforests teaches you anything, it’s that it’s the outsiders who wash once a day and cover themselves in anti-perspirants that smell bad, not the local people. Despite washing infrequently, and never using deodorants or cleansers, tribal people living in the most basic of places don’t suffer from bad body odor.So why not? How is it that most people living in in modern society become socially-unacceptably smelly and greasy after just a day or two of not washing, but those living soap- and hot-water-free in the tropics manage to stay clean?
By washing and applying deodorants, which tend to work by removing or masking the odour-producing bacteria, we alter the skin microbiota. Ammonia-oxidising bacteria are a perticularly sensitive group of bacteria, and they are slow to repopulate, so they are the worst-affected by the hurricane of chemicals that bombards them every day. The trouble is, without ammonia-oxidising bacteria, the ammonia we sweat out is not converted into nitrite and nitric oxide, chemicals which play some fundamental roles not only in regulating the running of human cells, but also in governing our skin microbes. Without nitric oxide, the corynebacteria and staphylococci that feed on our sweat can run wild. Changes in the abundance of corynebacteria in particular seem to be responsible for the bad body odour that we are all so keen to avoid.
The irony is, then, in washing with chemicals and using deodorants to ensure that we smell nice, we kick off a vicious cycle. Soap and deodorants kill off our ammonia-oxidising bacteria; no ammonia-oxidising bacteria means disruption to our other skin bacteria; the altered composition means our sweat smells unpleasant; and therefore we must use soap to clean up the mess, and deodorant to mask the smell.
From the book; 10% human, by Alanna Collen
All you need is water-only and for good measure a cloth to rinse the skin with, do that daily.
Maybe it will feel strange and scary at first but you’ll be thoroughly clean and your skin will get a naturally pleasant scent.
Soap and perfume industry have got you hooked, like a drug addict, time to break the bond and live free 😀
”Sanitation, when taken too far, can cause diversity of microbes to collapse. For example; Thoroughly scrubbed toilets are first colonised by faecal microbes, which are launched into the air by roiling, flushed water. Those species are eventually outcompeted by a diverse range of skin microbes, but once the toilet gets scrubbed again, the communities go back to square one. So, here’s the irony: toilets that are cleaned too often are more likely to be covered in faecal bacteria”.
”A similar pattern was found among the microbes that float inside air-conditioned hospital rooms. Outdoors, the air is full of harmless microbes from plants and soils. Indoors, it contained a disproportionate number of potential pathogens, which are normally rare or absent in the outside world, but had been launched from the mouths and skins of hospital residents. The patients were effectively stewing in their own microbial juices. And the best way of fixing that was remarkably simple: open a window”.
”Fresh air brings in harmless environmental microbes that take up space and exclude pathogens. But the idea of deliberately inviting microbes into a room deeply contradicts our assumptions about how hospitals should work”.

Microbes are our friends. Keep things tidy and neat but no need to obsess about cleanliness.
Uncle Intel: They are planning a biological attack on April 8th, just before the totality of the eclipse. This is how it’s going to go down. Planes will be delivering their payload at three intervals. First will be 2 hours before totality, 1 hour before totality and final one 30 mins before totality. The planes will be deploying a dry powder (bacterial bioweapon). It will not be visible. You won’t see it from the planes or the sky. It’s meant to infect through aerosol delivery. The first two planes will be at standard altitude, the final plane will be at approximately 10,000 - 15,000 feet. The path of flight will begin from the northeast, and they will travel down the central path of totality heading west-south-west, keeping in pace with the totality of the eclipse.
They are doing this to take advantage of the event because they know there will be guaranteed targets that will be infected, and thus be the vectors to spread the contagion. Symptoms will begin appearing 7 - 10 days after infection. 30 days after infection the media will notice. 60 days after infection the panic will at all-time highs. 90 days after infection the newly agreed upon UN/WHO pandemic powers will be enacted. And you know what will happen next.
People in the path of totality should not go outside. Bacterial payload will lose effectiveness within 6 hours post deployment. Half-life of powder with vary on humidity and temperature. The staring point is in Canada, the end point is in Mexico. Winds are the unpredictable factor, as is rain. Both of which will negatively impact the operation.

The analysis follows widespread anger after record sewage spills were revealed this week. Environment Agency data showed that raw #sewage was discharged for more than 3.6m hours into rivers and seas last year – a 129% increase on the previous 12 months.
Increased raw sewage in rivers means there is a higher risk of infections, campaigners argue, as people are more likely to come into contact with the #bacteria in human waste.

According to the conspiracy theory, Oxley used faked press credentials to gain access to Bob Marley at his Blue Mountain retreat; introducing himself as a famous photographer working for the New York Times, and gave Bob Marley a gift.

Helping Plants and Bacteria Work Together Reduces Fertilizer Need, Finds New Study
Helping to promote the natural relationship between plants and bacteria could reduce reliance on environmentally damaging fertilizers, a study has found.
As the population grows and crop yields are threatened by climate change, scientists are keen to help promote plant growth in a natural and sustainable way.
Researchers including those at the Universities of Warwick and Justus Liebig (Germany) have now shown a new way to boost plant nutrient uptake and growth. This could reduce the need for fertilizers, an input to agriculture which can be harmful for the environment. Fertilizers can run into waterways, or get broken down by microbes in the soil, releasing the potent greenhouse gas nitrous oxide into the atmosphere.
The team of researchers investigated the efficiency of plant-bacteria relationships (also known as symbiosis or nodulation), while also shedding light on how this natural phenomenon impacts interactions with other microbes in the soil. Their paper is published in the journal Microbiome.

But now giant clumps of the 13m-ton morass labeled the Great Atlantic sargassum belt are washing up on Florida’s beaches, scientists are warning of a real-life threat from the piles of decomposing algae, namely high levels of the flesh-eating Vibrio bacteria lurking in the vegetation.
Even more worrying, the researchers say, is the role of ocean pollution in the proliferation of the bacteria, which can cause disease and death if a person gets infected.
Samples tested from the Caribbean and #Sargasso Sea within the Atlantic were abundant with plastic debris, which interacted with the algae and bacteria to create a “perfect pathogen storm [with] implications for both marine life and public health”.
