#Google #Photos' Magic #Editor will refuse to make these edits

source: https://www.androidauthority.com/google-photos-magic-editor-prohibited-edits-3383291/

TL;DR

  • Code within the latest version of Google Photos includes specific error messages that highlight the edits that Magic Editor will refuse to do.
  • Magic Editor will refuse to edit photos of ID cards, receipts, images with personally identifiable information, human faces, and body parts.
  • Magic Editor already avoids many of these edits but without specific error messages, leaving users guessing on what is allowed and what is not.

Obsidian Markdown Notes Editor to Build Your Personal Knowledge Base Into The Future

Bild/Foto
Obsidian is a free (non-commercial use), not open source, text editor and works with open standard Markdown formatting on plain text files.

Apart from quite advanced editing and UI options, I find Obsidian attractive because of its over 500 quality community plugins, and its ability to visually show the relationships between your notes. Recording notes from meetings, or as you are daily learning new things or solving problems, is an excellent way to build your personal knowledge base. Using Markdown format can be fun, and can achieve a lot in terms of readability when you use some of the more advanced features of Markdown formatting.

Despite not being open source, you are not locked into Obsidian, and can use other Markdown editors interchangeably. In my video, I also touch on integrating with NextCloud to sync your notes, and especially some issues that iOS presents for apps.

ACDSee Gemstone is Shaping Up to Be a Serious Photoshop Alternative

image

ACDSee has released a free beta version of Gemstone -- a new stand-alone editing software that is currently available for anyone to try -- that looks extremely promising as an Adobe Photoshop alternative.

ACD Systems has released image editing and management products since 1993 and currently offers a varied list of desktop and mobile programs -- such as Photo Studio Ultimate, Luxea Video Editor 6, and iOS-based ACDSee Pro -- for photographers and videographers.

The company's latest product is Gemstone, a stand-alone Multi-Document Interface (MDI) editor that supports layers and up-to-date RAW files -- currently, Gemstone supports over 500 camera models and their RAWs.

The MDI allows users to open and work with multiple files at once and also includes a split view for quick comparison or split view editing, while layer support permits users to achieve complex adjustments that they can return to at any time.

The user interface bears similarities to those of other popular multi-layer editing programs as do the currently implemented tools and the general workflow. This makes it helpful for anyone who wants to transition across in the future or simply wants to test out Gemstone's current capabilities or compare the editor to other Adobe Photoshop alternatives.

ACDSee says that the new editor seamlessly pairs with its existing products -- such as ACDSee Photo Studio Home 2021 and Digital Asset Manager -- and it has incorporated some of the already popular Photo Studio features into Gemstone.

Users will find features like Frequency Separation, Path Text, Pixel Targeting, Color and Tone Wheels, Liquify Tool, and others, into the newly tested photo editor.

Some of the current beta limitations include availability in 64-bit and for Windows users only and neitehr compressed Fujifilm X-trans RAW and DNG nor Canon C-RAW files are yet supported.

Full hardware and software requirements as well as new features, improvements, and known issues can be found on ACDSee Gemstone Photo Editor 12 Beta 1 release notes.

Available now as a free beta release, ACDSee aims to receive the photography community's feedback and comments before an official launch this fall and encourages users to test out their product meanwhile. The editor can be downloaded here.

If ACDSee implements user feedback, Gemstone looks as though it might have the chops to become a powerful Adobe Photoshop and Affinity Photo alternative -- especially, if offered for a standalone fee, not a subscription -- as current beta testers have the unique opportunity to shape the future of the product.

A Remarkable Silence: Media Blackout After Key Witness Against Assange Admits Lying

Media Lens

As we have pointed out since Media Lens began in 2001, a fundamental feature of corporate media is propaganda by omission. Over the past week, a stunning example has highlighted this core property once again.

A major witness in the US case against Julian Assange has just admitted fabricating key accusations in the indictment against the Wikileaks founder. These dramatic revelations emerged in an extensive article published on 26 June in Stundin, an Icelandic newspaper. The paper interviewed the witness, Sigurdur Ingi Thordarson, a former WikiLeaks volunteer, who admitted that he had made false allegations against Assange after being recruited by US authorities. (...)

Under President Obama, the US Department of Justice had decided against indicting Assange, despite devoting huge resources to building a case against him. The stumbling block was ‘The New York Times Problem’: the difficulty in distinguishing between WikiLeaks publications and NYT publications of the same material. In other words, prosecuting WikiLeaks would pose grave First Amendment risks for even ‘respectable’ media such as the NYT. (...)

Even before the Stundin article was published five days ago, Thordarson’s testimony should have already been recognised as suspect, to say the least. (...)

But all of this is seemingly of no interest to the ‘mainstream’ media. We have not found a single report by any ‘serious’ UK broadcaster or newspaper. (...)

[I]n a sane world, Stundin’s revelations about a key Assange witness – that Thordarson lied in exchange for immunity from prosecution – would have been headline news everywhere, with extensive media coverage on BBC News at Six and Ten, ITV News, Channel 4 News, front-page stories in the Times, Telegraph, the Guardian and more. The silence is quite extraordinary; and disturbing. Caitlin Johnstone described it as a ‘weird, creepy media blackout’. (...)

As we have often observed, the establishment media relentlessly warn of the insidious nature of ‘fake news’: a claim that does have a seed of validity. But it is the state-corporate media themselves who are the primary purveyors of fake news. (...)

In fact, the most dangerous component of ‘MSM’ fake news is arguably propaganda by omission. In ostensible ‘democracies’, the public cannot make informed decisions, and take appropriate action, when the crimes of ruling elites are kept hidden by a complicit media.

Open Valley - 2021-04-28 08:11:45 GMT

well, I've added the first 21 tiles of cutable grass... so that you can see how it works, even aesthetically... the tile I used is quite square, but nothing prohibits to modify it in the future to tend the edges of the grass less "square"

I also stop using the StardewValley hashtag, since OpenValley is NOT a clone game (because of copyright) ^^
