What has AutoGPT actually accomplished? Nothing?

"Some people are reporting it has been useful as a way of generating market research, that it is good at this and faster than using the traditional GPT-4 or Bing interfaces."

"Right now, AutoGPT has a tendency to get distracted or confused or caught in a loop, to leave things half-finished, to not be that robust of an agent, and other issues like that. Positive reports seem limited to things GPT-4 or Bing can essentially do anyway, with the agent wrapper perhaps cutting down somewhat on how often you have to poke the interface with a stick to keep it pointed in a reasonable direction."

"That does not mean that all the people saying AutoGPTs are the future are wrong. AutoGPT's list of real accomplishments won't stay non-existent for long."

Zoox Tests New Driverless Vehicle For The First Time on Public Roads

The fact that driverless cars are already on the road in the USA is nothing new. Waymo and Cruise operate several driverless robot taxi fleets that drive passengers around. I’ve reported on this before, as in the field report on my first 50 robotaxi rides with Cruise.

Tesla FSD Beta Drive From Café

This is a drive with Tesla FSD Beta (Version 10.69.3.1.) from a café in Clovis, CA. The system beeped at me a few times, as I was too slow to touch the steering wheel. At the end of the video there is wheel chair user at the intersection visible, who is recognized as “bicyclist”by the FSD Beta.

On Instagram, a user posted this entertaining encounter, which took place in San Francisco’s Richmond District. Cruise has been allowed to operate its robotaxis commercially, driverless with passengers, for several weeks. The time is currently restricted between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Cruise’s Robotaxi Fleet in Pictures and Videos

With the company receiving approval for driverless driving and commercial deployment of Cruise’s fleet of robot taxis, more and more images and videos are now surfacing showing the empty cars in San Francisco. Some that give an idea of the scale of the operation (more than 100 vehicles are part of the fleet), and some that show what conditions need to be met for the vehicles to run safely. And this includes calibrating the sensors, as we see in the picture from the garage. The images come from Twitter user @21five_public.
