Keeping pace with YouTube will likely become even more challenging next year, when Google’s #Chrome browser adopts the Manifest V3 standard, which significantly limits what #extensions are allowed to do. #Modras said that under Manifest V3, whenever an ad blocker wants to update its blocklist — again, something they may need to do multiple times a day — it will have to release a full #update and undergo a review “which can take anywhere between [a] few hours to even a few weeks.”

“Through #Manifest #V3, #Google will close the door for innovation in the ad #blocking landscape and introduce another layer of #gatekeeping that will slow down how #ad #blockers can react to new #ads and #online #tracking methods,” he said.

Anyone who knows #Firefox and still uses Chrome out of conviction is beyond help.

#Google announced that starting in June 2024, ad blockers such as #uBlock Origin will be disabled in Chrome 127 and later with the rollout of Manifest V3

The new #Chrome manifest will prevent using custom filters and stops on demand updates of blocklist. Only #Google authorized updates to browser extension will be allowed in the future, which mean an automatic win for Google in their battle to stop YouTube #AdBlockers .

ManifestV3 is deceitful and threatening to your privacy, and now is a good time to switch to #Firefox and/or #TorBrowser if you haven't done so already!

Google now moderates your synched bookmarks? The hell?

To clarify: this is a Google Save Collection, which is one of the mechanisms Google syncs bookmarks via. They're not the default in Chrome (but accessible), but they are the only bookmark facility in the Google Search app, using the standard bookmark icon.

Es ist echt nicht zu ertragen.. #Firefox vs. #Chrome

Jetzt, wo #Google mal die ZĂŒgel weiter enger anzieht und im Chrome-Browser Nutzerrechte, wie z.B. AdBlocker weiter einschrĂ€nkt, kommen sie dann plötzlich aus ihren Löchern.

Diese ganzen Idioten, die jahrelang Chrome genutzt haben, weil er ja 0,5 Sekunden schneller ist, als Firefox. Und ĂŒberhaupt kann man den ja auch mit einem Google-Konto verknĂŒpfen, das einem detailliert darlegt, wo und wann man in den letzten fĂŒnf Jahren gekackt hat.

Jetzt kommen sie raus und machen einen hilflosen Aufstand. Verbreiten ĂŒberall im Internet Warnungen, Aufrufe und wertlose Tips. Jammern rum, wenn sie bestimmte Funktionen in ihrem neuen Browser Firefox nicht sofort finden.
Geh, fickt euch einfach. Euch hat es in den letzten zehn Jahren auch nicht interessiert, wie das Internet funktioniert. Bleibt einfach bei Chrome, ihr werdet ohnehin keinen Unterschied bemerken, wenn Google so weitermacht.
