Unfortunately, #CNN has dropped out of my #newsfeed as a serious #news source and I will no longer link to them.

What they write there is wrong on so many levels that it is downright cheeky.

Their goal with tracking is to undermine my privacy as much as possible and not to protect it. Then they boldly lie to my face that they want to protect my privacy but I have to deactivating my blocking add-ons for it?

Please don't fall for it and steer clear of websites that lie to you so shabbily!

I use Firefox with "uBlock Origin", "Cookie AutoDelete" and "I don't care about cookies". In my opinion, this is the minimum configuration for safe surfing on the ad-infested Internet. I can no longer take anyone who doesn't like this seriously.

New idea for the #fediverse. Not initially my idea but I've built on it. A way to advertise to people who are looking to shop only. In the search bar in place of the # use say $$ in front of any search. People who are selling will tag their stuff with the same tag. Probably the easiest place to build an only shop gallery is #pixelfed @dansup The portfolio layout is all there. The pictures in the gallery would just need descriptions under the thumbnails marked with $$. Anything the $$ would automatically get its date of posting updated every two weeks to remain relevant in searches. $$ listings would not appear in the global feed, just to people who put in the search. This could help as an alternative to the etsy and amazon searches. Sadly there would then need to be a ban/block list available to known scammers, or unethical sellers or rating systems or store accounts. This would of course require all of #activitypub to get involved or just be a pixelfed thing. #sales #advertisement #amazon #etsy #smallbusiness #art #artisan

Keeping pace with YouTube will likely become even more challenging next year, when Google’s #Chrome browser adopts the Manifest V3 standard, which significantly limits what #extensions are allowed to do. #Modras said that under Manifest V3, whenever an ad blocker wants to update its blocklist — again, something they may need to do multiple times a day — it will have to release a full #update and undergo a review “which can take anywhere between [a] few hours to even a few weeks.”

“Through #Manifest #V3, #Google will close the door for innovation in the ad #blocking landscape and introduce another layer of #gatekeeping that will slow down how #ad #blockers can react to new #ads and #online #tracking methods,” he said.

Anyone who knows #Firefox and still uses Chrome out of conviction is beyond help.

Cruz told Euronews he decided to design López after having trouble working with real models and influencers. "We started analyzing how we were working and realized that many projects were being put on hold or canceled due to problems beyond our control. Often it was the fault of the influencer or model and not due to design issues," he said.

So real influencers are the first jobs killed by AI.

On the one hand, I think it's a shame that the uncritical target group doesn't care whether the person is real. On the other hand, real models are also almost indistinguishable from AI-generated images due to the beauty filters.

I still use Facebook because of all the groups that are really hard to find anywhere else. Ever since last week, they changed their interface and algorithm, pushing so much crap in my stream.

I tried to update my filters, block the pages they promote and all of a sudden they no longer even give you a warning or a text to show that they are "pushed" and their choices are just truly bizarre.

This is the crap I got today!

Windows isn’t freeware, it requires a license that almost every consumer ultimately pays for. That could be in the form of the price of a laptop that has a Windows OEM license baked in, or a product key if you built your own PC. Microsoft should respect the fact that people already pay for Windows and don’t want ads shoved down their throats. Windows is an important productivity tool for many people, and shouldn’t be treated like a cheap streaming box loaded with ads.
