United Nations : every year 6.7 million people die because of air pollution globally.

Imagine if we didn't fall for Reagan's coup against green movement and push for cheap oil, followed by stupidity of the green movement to go after nuclear power instead of big oil, we wouldn't be in this situation.

But still, as well know the danger of global warming, pollution's and all the problems caused by them, we keep ignoring the obvious and focus on stupid politics, profit for the wealthy and ridiculous non-issues like plastic straws or electric cars.

The magic of halfmoon farming is spreading beyond sub saharan Africa

The simple idea to create a halfmoon to capture the rain water and provide more water to the ground that it would usually do when most vegetation has been removed and risk for erosion and floods increases, this idea has started helping the hills and dry land to turn into pockets of greets with native plants and deeply rooted bushes helping to preserve the top soil, provide more ground water and prevent floods.

After dust storms and droughts the northern regions of the country has received an unbelievable amount of 240mm rain something they haven't seen since they started measuring it over 100 years ago.

Floods have caused massive damage and long lasting scars into the fragile and already forced thousands of people to leave their homes and businesses.

The government says that the rain will not stop for at least 2 more days.

The Global Warming is hitting Iran and many other countries in the most horrifying ways, in every corner of our planet we see what seems to like a horror movie in slow motion.

#Brazil will face the largest El Niño peak ever recorded in history; an unusual heatwave will affect a significant portion of the country with extreme temperatures and possibly setting records in some states.

The exceptional episode at the end of winter and the expected temperatures for this week and the next will surpass historical average values for maximum temperatures in all five regions of the country, with a high potential for record-breaking temperatures in September, and perhaps even all-time records.

The intense heat, with temperatures nearing 40°C to 45°C, will impact a large part of the Southeast, Midwest, the interior of the Northeast, Santa Catarina, Paraná, as well as Rondônia, Tocantins, areas in the Central-South of Pará, and part of the #Amazonas region.

Once again dust storms are suffocating people in many parts of Iran and the worst is (once again) happens in Baluchestan province where thousands of people have fallen I'll with respiratory problems.

Dust storms are not usual in some parts of Iran. But the repeated storms, their length and coverage is the results of increasing temperature that slowly killing people unable to defend themselves against the invisible enemy.

This is not mad max or the dune you can watch and go home, this is the life of millions across the globe who fall victim to something they didn't have created.

A new analysis of the activities of twelve major fossil fuel giants shows that the companies are misleading the public about their emission-reduction commitments while raking in record profits from fossil fuels, which are driving catastrophic extreme weather events across the globe.

In a report published Wednesday, Greenpeace examines the decarbonization pledges, investments, and profits of six global fossil fuel giants — including Shell, BP, and TotalEnergies — and six European oil companies.

The results indicate that in 2022 close to 93% of the oil giants' investments on average went to keeping the companies on the "fossil oil and gas path" while just 7.3% were aimed at promoting "low-carbon solutions" and sustainable production.

Kuba Gogolewski, a finance campaigner at Greenpeace, said that "as the world endures unprecedented heat waves, deadly floods, and escalating storms, Big Oil clings to its destructive business model and continues to fuel the climate crisis."

"Instead of providing desperately needed clean energy, they feed us greenwashing garbage," Gogolewski added. "Big Oil's unwillingness to implement real change is a crime against the climate and future generations. Governments need to stop enabling fossil fuel companies, heavily regulate them, and plan our fossil fuel phase-out now. They will never change on their own."

The drought-hit Panama Canal will maintain restrictions on the passage of ships for one year, a measure that has already led to a marine traffic jam as boats line up to enter the waterway linking two oceans.

The canal is facing a shortage of rainwater needed to transfer ships through locks that function like water elevators, an engineering marvel that moves six percent of the world's maritime commerce up and over the isthmus between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

"The big disadvantage that the Panama Canal has as a maritime route is that we operate with freshwater, while others use seawater," canal administrator Ricaurte Vasquez told AFP earlier this month.

"We have to find other solutions to remain a relevant route for international trade. If we don't adapt, we are going to die."

As global warming hitting Iran and other countries in the region, life is becoming harder and unbearable for every day that goes for the people who live there.

#Draught, forest fires, massive rains followed by flash #floods and in between dust storms and unbearable heat are becoming every day event in #Iran and other west Asian nations.

1000s of villages have already abandoned by people who lost their livelihood as rivers dry out and so does the water wells.

Dust storms are not unfamiliar in southern regions of the country, but these days even city of Karaj north west of Tehran has tuned into a scene from old western movies.

The dust carrying deadly traces of pollution and poisonous leftovers of decades of unregulated dumping of dangerous chemicals are making the life even harder, followed by various types of sickness and even death.

This is the image of future Iran as one of the biggest victims of the climate change and global warming.

Sadly, neither the government, nor the majority of the population are willing or able to make any changes to limit these ticking bomb that is going to create an unimaginable catastrophe, with 10s of millions of desperate people who have no where to go.

Fossil fuels benefited from record subsidies of $13 million a minute in 2022, according to the International Monetary Fund, despite being the primary cause of the climate crisis.

The IMF analysis found the total subsidies for oil, gas, and coal in 2022 were $7 trillion. That is equivalent to 7% of global GDP, and almost double what the world spends on education. The IMF’s findings come as the climate crisis wreaks havoc across the world, causing heat waves, wildfires, and floods from the Americas to Europe to Asia.

For years, countries have been promising to end subsidies to ensure that the price of fossil fuels reflects their true environmental costs, but they have achieved little to date. The G20 nations, which cause 80% of global carbon emissions, pledged to phase out “inefficient” fossil fuel subsidies in 2009.

The World Bank reported in June that fossil fuel and agricultural subsidies combined could amount to $12 trillion a year and were causing “environmental havoc.”

Italy Hit by Third Major Heatwave This Summer

Temperatures in cities across central and southern parts of the country are expected to surpass 40 degrees Celsius in the coming days.

On Monday, the Italian Health Ministry said that by mid-week, 17 of Italy's 27 largest cities will be on "red alert" for heat. A new record of 20 out of 27 cities was set in July.
