#Horror #movies where everyone is afraid of a #fish ...

The nights are getting longer again, #Halloween is coming soon too and that’s why I wanted to recommend you 3 #shark horror movies. I don't recommend the movie "Jaws" here, because everybody knows this classic. These movies are not for biologists, because the sharks behave totally illogical and partly self-destructive.

    On vacation, the couple takes part in a dive. They get a little away from the group and when they return to the ship it is gone. There is no land anywhere to be seen.

    There is nothing better for her than to travel to lonely beaches to surf. But on this beach she is attacked by a shark and can just save herself on a small rock. Now she is stuck on it and is circled by the shark.

    Two sisters want to dive in a cage and watch sharks on vacation. The cable breaks and the cage sinks to the bottom of the sea. Dangerous sharks can emerge from the darkness at any time. Should they wait in the cage for rescue or try to swim to the surface?

His hand turns his two buddies into #zombies and now wants to kill the neighbor's daughter. Can he stop the disaster?

    Actually, he is already too old for a babysitter but his parents give him one anyway. This is not really irritating, because he is secretly in love with her. Together with his friend he creates some horror so that she snuggles up to him because she gets scared. But it goes wrong and develops into a bitterly nasty horror movie.

    He is angry because he had to move but then he falls in love with the neighbor's daughter at the new place of residence. Her father is the author of famous horror novels. 1) Tucker and Dale vs. #Evil: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/46838-tucker-and-dale-vs-evil
Collage kids go on vacation deep in the forest and meet some locals. This could be a #classic horror movie but instead misunderstandings lead to completely absurd funny events. In the end, a collage girl and a local boy team up and experience something in the second half of the film that could still be called a horror #movie.

2) The Final Girls: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/293970-the-final-girls
Due to a mysterious accident, she and her friends get caught up in the horror movie where her now deceased mother was starring. So she has to work through the trauma with her mother and at the same time try to become the "Final Girl" to survive the horror movie. The friends quickly realize that they know every scene but can hardly influence the course of events. Because of the fact that all participants act very stupid, the whole thing seems more comical, but the killer takes care of one after the other.

This movie from the series has the best mix of #fun and horror in my opinion. In this movie other horror movies are made fun of. If you don't know the originals and don't like the #humor, you'll probably find it trashy.

What would happen if the #military wasn't just staffed by inhuman assholes who don't give a shit about #CollateralDamage? Then one would ask oneself if it is justifiable to kill a little girl who happens to be selling her bread next to a house with terrorists. Or else how to justify the death of the little girl for a higher goal. The debate seems somewhat hypocritical, as the US military has incinerated entire wedding parties with drones without consequence.
2) Drone - https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/452068-drone
Aren't #drone #pilots who intervene in war far from the front lines also #war participants and therefore legitimate targets in a #conflict. What happens if the other side attacks these pilots while they are at home with their families after their 8-hour shift?
3) Eye on Juliet - https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/471514-eye-on-juliet
He uses drones to protect a pipeline on another continent. In the process, he witnesses how a beautiful young woman is to be forcibly married. He falls in love with her and helps her escape with the drones. If you don't think outside the box, this is a #love story. But how creepy is it really? If he were an old geezer, he'd be a stalker, and besides, he's misusing the drones for his purpose. Apart from that, the drones #kill people who approach the pipeline.

Here is the idea of #3movies for franchises ...

1) My all time favourite franchise is "Mission Impossible": https://www.looper.com/333275/the-mission-impossible-movies-ranked-worst-to-best/
I don't know of any other fanchiese where every episode is so thrilling and there is no significant drop in quality. Of course, you have to be a little enthusiastic about agent thrillers to watch it, and compared to reality, it seems unlikely that the world has to be saved every time. Overall, the storyline is more logical than James Bond and not so much bedtime stories.

2) My current favourite franchise is "Hunger Games": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hunger_Games_%28film_series%29
I like the story and the hidden criticism of #capitalism. The first part introduces the world and is not too brutal because the film is also for 12 year olds. The second part has basically the same story as the first part but shows much more of the world and Katniss learns what an important icon of the resistance she has become. The third part shows how propaganda works and how brutal a civil war is. If you look closely, you can see that Katniss suffers from depression and has to focus again and again in order to persevere at all. The ending, however, is a huge affront. It is illogical because it is not explained why the new government should be better now and Katniss retreats quite conservatively and starts a family, as is expected of a good American woman.

3) The worst franchise is "Terminator": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminator_(franchise)
The first part used to excite people, otherwise the franchise wouldn't have been created. But I think the first part has not aged well and today the special effects look very cheap. The 2nd part, however, is one of the best action movies of all time. Exciting from the first to the last minute with action sequences that still look very good today. Everything in the film is somehow right and that's the problem - the film could not be topped. Then there's a good series with a female teen terminator who protects John Connor during school time. But everything else in the franchise is just bad. With all the time travel they could have built a wonderful #mindfuck like in "Back to the Future" but instead it became more and more arbitrary and suddenly there was a new timeline and everything that happened before lost its validity. That's what happens when you have absolutely no ideas and want to upset all the fans.

1) An all-time favourite movie: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373469

It's not a typical Christmas movie but it is taking place at Christmas however in LA without snow. Not quite as bloody as "Die Hard" but there are multiple deaths. At the beginning, the plot is very confusing and tragically funny. But later everything clears up and comes together.

2) A current favourite movie: Better Watch Out - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4443658

Actually he is already too old for a babysitter but his parents get him one because they have to leave before Christmas. Since he is secretly in love with his babysitter he doesn't mind and plans a romantic evening with her. The evening turns into the opposite when someone tries to break into the house. There is a hostage situation and the romantic evening turns into a psychological drama.

3) Trash movie: Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3801438

Grumpy Cat is a famous meme. So they thought we'd take profit from that and make a movie out of it. Unfortunately, they got the target audience wrong and made a children's movie, whose plot is far too obvious and soft. The plot is like "Kevin Home Alone" but here it is a girl locked in the mall with the cat. However, I have found that with enough mulled wine, the movie is quite funny and entertaining after all.

My #christmas #movie evenings

  1. My favorite one: The Shining – Perhaps one of the best horror films of all time. It is different. No dark rooms full of cobwebs, but a brightly illuminated hotel and three people. There are, as in many other of Kubrick's films, so many subliminal innuendos of a complex hidden sub-story I could write a long text about it, but I'm sure to see still something new and fresh. The full-length english original is… ehm… long, but highly recommended. The shorter version for the german cinemas destroys a lot, and while the german dubbing is very good for the "surface story" in general, it destuctively makes fine subtleties in the dialog invisible. And there are a lot. And Jack Nicholson's acting is really creepy. Hint: Watch out for mirrors as an important element!
  2. My current one isn't that current anymore, but nearly a decade old: Interstellar – I never heard any bad about it and I wanted to watch it for more than five years, but it is a long film.
  3. The trashiest film I'd ever seen is Plan 9 from Outer Space – A film, so incredible bad, you will hardly find something worse. Exactly the right thing for dark, cold days and the olympic games of consumerism.
