U.S. defense secretary Lloyd Austin : #Gaza is harder than #Mosul (Iraq)

He predicts invading Gaza will be more difficult than the 9-month assault against #ISIS in Mosul:

"Urban combat is extremely difficult. It goes at a slow pace. This may be a bit more difficult because of the underground network of tunnels that #Hamas has constructed over time, and the fact that they have had a long time to prepare for a fight.

"So I think you'll see a fight that's characterized by a lot of àIEDs, a lot of booby traps, and just a really grinding activity going forward.”

Imagine 9 months of starvation and blockade of over 2 million people. These monsters don't even consider the human catastrophe this conflict has created and joyfully talking about extending it to a genocide like we haven't seen since Nazi Germany blockade of Leningrad.

Will the world stand idle and watch this become the shame of the century? Even after 9 months, the children of those killed will be growing up to become the next fighters against those who destroyed their homes and killed their parents.

This out of control spiral of violence has to end. There can't be a military victory for any side. The only military solution is the unthinkable emptying Gaza from all Palestinians pushing them to Egypt or watching them die.

For 18 months, as ISIS advanced, the US did nothing to stop them

Collusion with terror: For 18 months, until the Russian Air Force entered Syrian skies, the US did absolutely nothing to stop ISIS from taking over swathes of Syria and Iraq

In 2017, #US and allied Kurdish forces bombarded the city of Raqqa, the bastion of #ISIS in #Syria and the de-facto capital of the terror group’s self-proclaimed caliphate.

Concurrent to this, US forces conducted massive air strikes on the Iraqi city of #Mosul, to support Iraqi and Kurdish ground forces against ISIS there too.

But the US-led campaigns in Mosul and #Raqqa falsely suggest that the US and ISIS were implacable enemies. These battles created the perception that the US was committed to fighting #Al-Qaeda and its various splinter groups, in a continuation of the so-called “War on Terror” begun by the Bush administration in the wake of 9/11.

However, a closer look at events in both Iraq and Syria paints a very different picture: The US and its allies, both directly and indirectly, colluded with ISIS to attain specific geopolitical objectives. The terror group that captured the world’s attention in 2014 was in fact a vital and valuable tool for US policy planners.

Evidence of this is rife. In June 2014, when ISIS fighters swept across the Syrian border to first capture Mosul, the largest city of its caliphate, the US military monitored the ISIS convoys crossing from Syria using drones and satellite systems, but took no action to bomb them.

This one's for you Ustaz...

Makam Bayat - Munir Bashir

Munir Bashir the King Of Oud (1930 – September 28, 1997) was an Iraqi musician and one of the most famous musicians in the Middle East during the 20th century and was considered to be the supreme master of the Arab maqamat scale system. His father taught him to play oud at a very young age.

He created different styles of the Arabian short scaled lute, the oud. He was one of the first Middle Eastern instrumentalists known to Europe and America. Bashir’s music is distinguished by a novel style of improvisation that reflects his study of Indian and European tonal art in addition to oriental forms. Born in Iraq, he had to deal with numerous disruptions of violent coup attempts and multiple wars that the country went through. He would eventually exile to Europe and become noticeable first in eastern nations such as Hungary and Bulgaria.
