#phone

I just remembered, if you can't #phone bank because of #anxiety and feeling like you are #annoying people and they get mad at you, you CAN #phonebank for #ballot curing. In this case, ballots will get thrown in the trash so you are saving #votes that people wanted to cast guaranteed.
People will be much more happy to hear from you then regular phone banking and its a lot easier for people with anxiety. Might even help get over some of the anxiety around regular phone banking once you get into the stride of it. Look in your area for that to help call people and let them know they have a chance to rescue their #vote from being wasted.

Police Want to Treat Your Data Privacy Like Garbage. The Courts Shouldn't Let Them.

Imagine this: You lost your phone, or had it stolen. Would you be comfortable with a police officer who picked it up rummaging through the phone’s contents without any authorization or oversight, thinking you had abandoned it? We’ll hazard a guess: hell no, and for good reason.

New phone time ••grumbles••

So after a year or so, my Galaxy Fold 4 is starting to go, or rather the folding screen is. There's a protector on it meant to spread the force of folding the screen so it doesn't crease, and that's starting to separate from the actual screen. It's repairable, but that's a send out repair, if'n I had insurance, they'd likely send me a replacement phone so I wouldn't have to wait, but I don't have insurance, and sometimes the repaired phones don't last even this long, so... Yeah, need something else I guess. And it's not the only problem, it's just the newest and largest, we've been having some charging issues, a weird thing where I unlike the phone and get a copied to clipboard message, and that's when the phone will wake, sometimes it won't or it'll hang going to the home screen. Yeah, I'm not impressed, and then there's the amount of extra software and shear overload of features built into the phone, and while I don't hate it, I love the tablet mode, I'm not real impressed.

So, brand thoughts, I'm all ears, but here's what I got...
iPhone, nope, been using Android since 2.x, and iPhone is just different enough to drive me nuts. Sure, I could learn to use and like it I'm sure, but I prefer to just hit the ground running.
Google, I don't have much love for Alphabet, I'd have nothing to do with it, but that's not an option, but I'm certainly not buying one of their devices
Samsung, see above, software is something of an issue, they're still being stupid in this area, though it's not as big a deal
Motorola, this one is high on my list, I've had a few of their devices, and my opinion of them is the same as that of my Lenovo computers, they won't blow you away, you won't be singing their praises to the high hills, but you will get something that will work every time, just a solid very average device

Beyond those, who's out in the US? Hisense makes an e-Ink phone that I would love, but they aren't available here AFAIK. TCL was playing with an interesting screen that had many of the properties of e-ink in colour, but those seem to have gone away.

So, any recommendations from y'all?
