28.10.2023 Für ein Recht auf Reparatur
Wir brauchen ein "Open Source Hardware" Konzept
Nur rund 43 Prozent der Altgeräte werden von Geschäften wieder zurückgenommen und umweltverträglich entsorgt. Alle anderen landen im Müll oder liegen weiter in irgendwelchen Schubladen zu Hause. Schätzungen zufolge liegen in deutschen Haushalten allein rund 210 Millionen Alt-Handys nutzlos rum. Nach dem § 10 Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetz (ElektroG) sollten eigentlich 65 Prozent recycelt werden.
Nun hat der der Binnenmarktausschuss des EU-Parlaments (IMCO) mit 38 Ja-Stimmen und zwei Nein-Stimmen den Parlamentsentwurf für ein „Recht auf Reparatur“ unterstützt. Darin sind im Vergleich zum Ratsentwurf einige Verbesserungen enthalten. Nicht nur qualifizierte Reparateure, sondern alle Bürger:innen sollen einen umfassenden Zugang zu Geräte-Informationen und Ersatzteilen erhalten. Das wird den Herstellern sicher nicht gefallen.
Nach der Reparatur soll es eine einjährige Haftung geben. Kritisch ist weiterhin, dass die Regelungen nur für bestimmte Produktgruppen (Waschmaschinen, Trockner, Staubsauger, Spülmaschinen, Kühlgeräte und elektronische Displays) gelten sollen über deren Umfang noch gestritten werden kann.
Ein Erfolg wäre es schon, wenn der Verbraucher wieder das Recht auf einen Austausch von Akkus oder eines Displays zurückerlangen würde. Aber auch viele andere Teile würden sich über 3D-Drucker im Bedarfsfall mit einem „Open Source Hardware“ Konzept herstellen lassen.

Autonomes Taxi schleift Passantin mit
Bei einem Unfall am 2. Oktober hat ein autonomes Taxi der GM Tochter Cruise in der Innenstadt San Franciscos eine Frau angefahren. Sie wurde unter dem Fahrzeug eingeklemmt und musste befreit werden, nachdem sie das Fahrzeug sogar noch ein paar Meter mitgeschleift hatte.
Für die polizeilichen Untersuchungen soll Cruise anfangs nicht alle Kameraaufnahmen des Fahrzeugs zur Verfügung gestellt haben. Nun hat Kaliforniens Kfz-Zulassungsstelle Cruise Anfang der Woche mit sofortiger Wirkung die Erlaubnis entzogen, fahrerlose Robotaxis gegen Geld auf den Straßen San Francisco zu betreiben, schreibt Heise.de.
Außerdem untersucht die US-Verkehrssicherheitsbehörde NHTSA fünf Vorfälle bei denen es zu Auffahrunfällen gekommen war nachdem autonome Cruise-Fahrzeuge plötzlich hart gebremst haben. Na ja, autonome Fahrzeuge sind halt Roboter, die nur 0 oder 1 kennen ...
Auch die Feuerwehr in San Francisco war gegen die Erlaubnis für Cruise. Sie hatte mehrere Vorfälle bekannt gemacht, in denen die autonomen Taxis Ersthelfer und -helferinnen behindert hätten.
Auf jeden Fall hat Genieral Motors allein mit Cruise in diesem Jahr einen Verlust von 1,9 Milliarden US-Dollar eingefahren - während (anderes Thema) die Beschäftigten von Ford nach 6 Monaten Streik immerhin eine 25%-ige Gehaltssteigerung über 4 Jahre durchgesetzt haben. Der Streik hat Ford Einnahmeausfälle von 60 Milliarden Dollar gekostet.

No sooner did Cruise announce plans to launch additional robotaxi fleets in Austin, Texas, and Phoenix, Airzona, within 90 days than the first Cruise robotaxis were spotted in Austin. SFPD Stopps Driverless Cruise Robotaxi, Then It Takes Off
It didn’t take long for a Cruise driverless robotaxi to be stopped by San Francisco police. On Instagram, a user posted this entertaining encounter, which took place in San Francisco’s Richmond District. Cruise has been allowed to operate its robotaxis commercially, driverless with passengers, for several weeks. The time is currently restricted between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Cruise’s Robotaxi Fleet in Pictures and Videos
With the company receiving approval for driverless driving and commercial deployment of Cruise’s fleet of robot taxis, more and more images and videos are now surfacing showing the empty cars in San Francisco. Some that give an idea of the scale of the operation (more than 100 vehicles are part of the fleet), and some that show what conditions need to be met for the vehicles to run safely. And this includes calibrating the sensors, as we see in the picture from the garage. The images come from Twitter user @21five_public.

Cruise And Waymo Are Now Allowed To Offer Paid Robotaxi Service In California.
The California Public Utility Commission, which is responsible for cab regulation among other things, today granted Cruise and Waymo permission to offer paid robotaxi rides with immediate effect. This makes the two the first robotaxi companies in California to have this license.
