The criterion of a discrete landmass is completely disregarded if the continuous landmass of Eurasia is classified as two separate continents (Asia and Europe). Physiographically, Europe and the Indian subcontinent are large peninsulas of the Eurasian landmass. However, Europe is considered a continent with its comparatively large land area of 10,180,000 square kilometres (3,930,000 sq mi), while the Indian subcontinent, with less than half that area, is considered a subcontinent. The alternative view—in geology and geography—that Eurasia is a single continent results in a six-continent view of the world. Some view separation of Eurasia into Asia and Europe as a residue of Eurocentrism: "In physical, cultural and historical diversity, China and India are comparable to the entire European landmass, not to a single European country. As a young boy in 1966, Anthony Peake's curiosity knew no bounds. From that point, he delved into works like "Man #Myth and #Magic," "Project Trojan Horse" by John Keel, and Jacques Vallee’s "Passport to Magonia." This ignited an insatiable appetite to explore the unknown, making him a lifelong learner who wanted to know everything about everything.
His educational journey was equally diverse. At university, Anthony selected a plethora of subjects to feed his ever-expanding curiosity—sociology of religion, theory of language development, and even the art of the Italian Renaissance. But life had different plans, steering him into a career in management, where his intellectual pursuits took a back seat but never really left him.
Fast forward to the year 2000, a twist of fate enabled him to take a sabbatical. Seizing the #moment, he channeled decades of research and curiosity into writing a book. After one grueling yet fulfilling year, he emerged with the manuscript of "Cheating the Ferryman," a compelling blend of quantum physics, neurology, #ancient myths, altered states of #consciousness, and the enigma of death. While it took five more years and a significant re-write for the book to finally hit the shelves under a new title, "Is There #Life After #Death – The Extraordinary Science of What Happens When We #Die," it was well worth the wait.
Anthony’s groundbreaking work caught the eye of experts. With the help of Professor Bruce Greyson, an article based on his "Cheating the Ferryman" hypothesis was published in the esteemed Journal of Near-Death Studies. Winter Solstice
The night she was conceived, a faint sliver of light from the new moon travelled the sky. The night she was born, the moon was full and fat, a bright reddish harvest moon. The symbolism had been explained to death when she was still a small child.
Tied to the moon from birth, she was less concerned with the sun. When others mourned the last setting of the sun behind the mountains at midwinter, she remained calm. It would return a few days later.
So she was surprised when that year she was chosen to fetch back the light. Early in the morning they woke her up, and out into the dark and cold she was summoned, where the ritual play was carried out: There was no light in the village, someone had to go to the dragon’s cave and bring back fire, or the sun would never return. Would she be the brave soul?
She set out with a wry smile at the dramatic farewells. It was less than a mile to the cave, the provisions were unnecessary. A short walk later, she was there. She smelled the smoke from the entrance, heard the soft crackling as she stepped inside the big cave, and could just make out the large shape softly lit against the darkness.
Walking towards it, she saw the small fire burning under the belly of the stylised stone dragon, smoke flowing out its nostrils. She had never been party to this side of the ritual before, and briefly wondered who had snuck down earlier and lit the fire. She approached the stone beast head on, and now saw the fire through its holes-for-eyes, bright and flickering in one, softer in the other. Suddenly she understood. They were the sun and the moon, and the fire behind them was one.
She dutifully lit a torch from the dragon fire and carried it back to the village, so lost in thought that she was startled by the crowd that warmly greeted her, the ritual complete. A few days later, she rejoiced with the rest as the sun returned, clearing the mountains briefly for the first time in nearly a week. The light would grow day by day.

Of the 24 countries surveyed, belief in the conspiracy theory was most widespread in India, where 30 percent of (urban) respondents professed to sharing this view on the pandemic. South Africa, Indonesia and Nigeria also stood out here, with 23, 20 and 19 percent, respectively. At the other end of the scale, belief was least common in Japan, Sweden, Great Britain and Denmark - here the results were between three and five percent.
