On Thursday, the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), #Argentina's largest labor union, called for a general strike and a march to the Congress on January 24th to protest against the decree of urgent necessity and a bill that grants "superpowers" to the far-right president Javier #Milei to govern discretionally for two years.

The most powerful have always tried to abuse the law for their own purposes in order to prevent protests against #injustice. This has forced the protest #movement into the #underground and strengthened #resistance. In the French #Revolution, the powerful were ultimately surprised by the pent-up #anger against the abuse of the #law.

Many critics of the mainstream are turning to alternative media, where distorting or fake reporting is much more common. But since this is the main criticism of the mainstream, this is quite surprising. In a world where people like Trump are elected president, the defense of the mainstream should be the resistance and the criticism is the mainstream.
