I completed the #bike ride which was meant to do last #Saturday and rode the full 31 km. The weather was much nicer with even a bit of #winter #sunshine to brighten the route. I was also accompanied by my spouse today which meant that I also had someone to encourage me and compete a little too. As it's a ride to the #coast and back, one has to battle the #onshore #breeze on the way out but it really helps on the way back. The whole thing took around an hour and a half. On the route, there must have been at least a dozen bird photographers with their tripods and several anglers canal-side. A good day to be outside.
While the weather is awful in Germany and Belgium, here it feels like #summer with temperatures in the high twenties and #sunshine all day. The #allium #flowers have matured and are now attracting #pollinators. (I can't remember whether these are #onions or #SpringOninons.) Here's a close up of a #Bumblebee which was flower hopping. If you look under its right #wing, you can see another #insect riding on it. I don't know if it's a parasite or whether it just happened to be hitching a ride as I can't see it in other #photographs. My hunch is that it is a parasite.

Walking around Oakland, you never know what you'll come across as you turn the corner. Today an adorable group of girls from a dance studio were dancing in the street with their instructor. Music blasting in the sun! I watched them for a while, and walked over to the studio... I sat through their next class (which was hip-hop)! There was a five year old that danced better than all of them.. amazing! I'll definitely go back again and try and take better photos.. The instructor was very friendly, and said I was welcome to stop by anytime!
No wonder I woke up dancing today!
