Vom USB-Stick zu stearten funktioniert, und bei Betribssytemen die man installieren möchte, läuft die Installationsroutine auch durch, aber der Rechner will einfach nicht mehr booten. Bin etwas ratlos ...

Von #friendica aus kann ich Kontakten in Diaspora folgen aber nix kommentieren mit dem Friendica account, für #mastodon genauso. Hm # zu nutzen geht schon mal. Problem: when I go to #sundaypov page, I only see my own 2 posts if I'm connected to my account on diasp.org, and I see all 4 posts if I'm not connected to my account. Other tags -- eg #povray -- seems to work fine. This problem occurs on PC Debian running Firefox, or running Epiphany [aka Web]. It's also true on Android cellphone running Firefox or running FDroid/Dandelion.
The other #sundaypov user @tTh using another pod, can see everything fine.
Question: I'd like someone having a diasp.org account doing this test:
- create a post, containing "#sundaypov test"
- go to #sundaypov tag page (just click on tag to do so), and check if only your post is visible, or more. Please tell exactly what.
Other pods user is welcome to check this test, too.
At the moment, there exists only 4 posts: 2 from me, 2 from @tTh.

Reimagining Democracy
Last week, I [Bruce Schneier] hosted a two-day workshop on reimagining democracy.

Representative democracies were built under the assumption that travel and communications were difficult. Does it still make sense to organize our representative units by geography? Or to send representatives far away to create laws in our name? Is there a better way for people to choose collective representatives?\
\
Indeed, the very idea of representative government is due to technological limitations. If an AI system could find the optimal solution for balancing every voter’s preferences, would it still make sense to have representatives—or should we vote for ideas and goals instead?\
\
With today’s technology, we can vote anywhere and any time. How should we organize the temporal pattern of voting—and of other forms of participation?\
\
Starting from scratch, what is today’s ideal government structure? Does it make sense to have a singular leader “in charge” of everything? How should we constrain power—is there something better than the legislative/judicial/executive set of checks and balances?\
\
The size of contemporary political units ranges from a few people in a room to vast nation-states and alliances. Within one country, what might the smaller units be—and how do they relate to one another?\
\
Who has a voice in the government? What does “citizen” mean? What about children? Animals? Future people (and animals)? Corporations? The land?\
\
And much more: What about the justice system? Is the twelfth-century jury form still relevant? How do we define fairness? Limit financial and military power? Keep our system robust to psychological manipulation?
This was a great idea. For decades I've been trying to rethink government from the ground up---including asking whether we need what we usually call "government."

I had forgotten how important it is to follow #tags in #diaspora. When I joined diap.org, I got a huge welcome and I immediately found many of the people I used to follow on my other instances. I was, however, curious as to why my stream was not as interesting as I was used to when I had my old account. The it hit me: I hadn't followed the tags I am interested in! I spent some time adding the basic ones, and oh boy does it make a difference! I am now seeing the stuff I am truly interested in.
So this is a reminder to all of you: Remember to follow the tags you are interested in, and remember to properly tag your posts! And I emphasize the "properly" part. I wanted to find posts on Dissociative Identity Disorder (#did) and all I found was posts that tag the auxiliary #did in posts like "#Did you know that [insert boring fact]".

Your friends don't need to be on the same pod as you in order to connect and communicate with you.
- One good way to start getting connected with people is to start following some #tags of subjects that interest you (maybe #music, #photography, #linux, or #activism ... whatever interests you) so that you will see content on those topics in your stream. You can then start following people whose posts you find interesting, by placing them into one of your aspects.
- If you have any questions, post something with the #question or #help tag, and people will try to help you. Make sure to make your post public so anyone who can help is able to see it!
diaspora* has some very simple community guidelines, which we hope everyone will feel able to follow so that all members can have the best possible experience here.
We're trying to improve diaspora* all the time, fixing bugs, honing performance and adding new features. But how fast we can do this is limited by the time developers have. Comment exclure certains tags de mon fil ?
Ce n'est pas car j'adhère à recevoir des sujets de personnes qui m'intéressent que tout ce qu'elles publient m'intéresse. Comment faire exclure automatiquement certains #tags ? Est-ce que la fonction existe qui permette de ne pas devoir exclure totalement des personnes ?
Exemples : la #politique d'un état, la situation sanitaire liée au #covid, le #bashing de certains sujets environnementaux et énergétiques comme la poursuite du #nucléaire.
C'est que j'aimerais pouvoir m'intéresser à des éléments positifs, sans devoir me taper des #opinions négatives ou une quelconque #agressivité sachant que je serais bien incapable de convaincre des tiers de leurs #positions et #obsessions néfastes.
