What are the purpose of the little #holes on #top of the #Great #Pyramid at #Giza?
Oh you mean all these holes?
That big ugly one in the center held the French flag for a few years during the napoleonic era.
The square holes around the side were from a light show put on in the mid 20th century.
Other holes and damage has been made by thousands of climbers, scavengers, soldiers, and the ravages of time and erosion.
The limestone that used to cover the pyramid until only 800–1000 years ago and only remains at the top, can be found throughout Cairo in the gleaming eggshell white stucco on countless Islamic mosques and temples and towers.
This kind of repurposing is nothing new. The gleaming white exterior of the Vatican came from demolition of the limestone statues, walls, stairs, and first class seating of the coliseum.
Anyway, not all history is heroes.

If you struggle with the concept of being "bound" try sitting still for just 2 minutes, attending inward, focusing on the breath or the heartbeat, every day for a week.

#Galactic-Alignment-day is another name for #LEAP DAY, which occurs on months evenly divisible by 4 but if they're evenly divisble by 100, the only ones that get the extra day in the Gregorian calendar is when that year is evenly divisble by 400.
There are technically two days "missing" out of the calendar. One is: Galactic Alignment Day which will fall on Feb 29, 2012, and also, the day out of time, the day prior to the 13-Moon New Year, which always falls on July 25 of every year, and is a time for #great #celebration!
The 13-Moon Solar Cycle begins with July 26th and ends with July 24, only 364 days. The 365th day The Day Out of Time, giving the calendar 365 days per year.

The main accomplishment of World War I was to free the land of Palestine from Ottoman control, contributing towards the establishment of the State of Israel, a long-standing objective of the Zionists. World War I was precipitated when the Austro-Hungarian heir Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in Sarajevo on June 28, 1914. The three chief assassins were Gavrilo Princip and two of his friends, who were all members of a nationalist group called the Order of the Black Hand, a secret society that had been founded in 1911 as the Union of Death to fight for Serbian liberation. The seal of the order was a clenched fist holding a skull and crossbones beside a knife, a bomb and a poison bottle.[1] The involvement of the Russians was purportedly exposed when it was discovered that a secret payment of eight thousand rubles had been given to the Black Hand leader by the Russian military attaché in Belgrade. The order had apparently been accompanied by a promise from Tsar Nicholas II, knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece, that he would support Serbia in the event of war breaking out between Russian and the Austro-Hungarian empire. It was also rumored that representatives of the Black Hand had met with several members of the French Grand Orient at the Hotel St. Jerome in Toulouse in January of that year. One of the topics allegedly discussed was the murder of the emperor Franz Joseph and the archduke Ferdinand.
The Zionist movement was founded by Theodor Herzl—a former member of the German nationalist Burschenschaft (fraternity) Albia—who Anti-Zionist rabbis and other Jewish opponents often compared Herzl disparagingly with Shabbetai Zevi, who declared himself the Messiah in 1666. After World War I, the #British #Government would cede the territory of #Palestine to Zionist colonization, as outlined in the Balfour Declaration, written by Lord Balfour (1848 – 1930) with the assistance of Weizmann to Walter #Rothschild, 2nd Baron Rothschild (1868 – 1937), who had inherited the title of baron from his father, Nathan “Natty” Rothschild (1840 – 1915), head of the English branch of the family founded by his father, Nathan Mayer Rothschild. Before placing their hopes in Britain, the German Zionists had first turned to #Germany, hoping their German imperialism would provide a protectorate in Palestine for Jewish settlement. Herzl first attempted to recruit Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany (1859 – 1941), to influence Abdul Hamid II (1842 – 1918), a fellow knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece, to seriously consider the proposals of the Zionists.
Herzl attempted to meet the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II (1842 – 1918), a knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece, in order to present his proposition of a Jewish State to him directly. He failed to obtain an audience but did succeed in visiting a number of highly placed individuals, including the Grand Vizier.
Having failed to gain the support of either the Kaiser or the Sultan, Herzl turned to Great Britain in 1900, joining the pro-British Zionist faction that was soon to be led by Chaim Weizmann (1874 – 1952), President of the World Zionist Organization (WZO), who helped draft the Balfour Declaration, and later first President of Israel. The Great Sphinx of Giza
The Great Sphinx of Giza is a limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with the head of a human, and the body of a lion.
Facing directly from west to east, it stands on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile. The face of the Sphinx appears to represent the pharaoh Khafre.
The original shape of the Sphinx was cut from the bedrock, and has since been restored with layers of limestone blocks.
It measures 73 m (240 ft) long from paw to tail, 20 m (66 ft) high from the base to the top of the head, and 19 m (62 ft) wide at its rear haunches.
Its nose was broken off for unknown reasons between the 3rd. and 10th. centuries AD.
The Sphinx is the oldest known monumental sculpture in Egypt, and one of the most recognisable statues in the world.
The archaeological evidence suggests that it was created by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom during the reign of Khafre (c. 2558 - 2532 BC).
The Great Sphinx's Name
The commonly used name "Sphinx" was given to the monument in classical antiquity, about 2,000 years after the commonly accepted date of its construction by reference to a Greek mythological beast with the head of a woman, a falcon, a cat, or a sheep and the body of a lion with the wings of an eagle. (Although, like most Egyptian sphinxes, the Great Sphinx has a man's head and no wings).
The English word sphinx comes from the ancient Greek Σφίγξ from the verb σφίγγω (meaning to squeeze in English), after the Greek sphinx who strangled anyone who failed to answer her riddle.
History of the Great Sphinx
The Sphinx is a monolith carved from the bedrock of the plateau, which also served as the quarry for the pyramids and other monuments in the area.
Egyptian geologist Farouk El-Baz has suggested that the head of the Sphinx may have been carved first, out of a natural yardang, i.e. a ridge of bedrock that had been sculpted by the wind. These can sometimes achieve shapes which resemble animals.
El-Baz suggests that the "moat" or "ditch" around the Sphinx may have been quarried out later to allow for the creation of the full body of the sculpture.
The archaeological evidence suggests that the Great Sphinx was created around 2500 BC for the pharaoh Khafre, the builder of the Second Pyramid at Giza. The stones cut from around the Sphinx's body were used to construct a temple in front of it.
However, neither the enclosure nor the temple were ever completed, and the relative scarcity of Old Kingdom cultural material suggests that a Sphinx cult was not established at the time.
