#vine

As #summer is coming to and we're heading towards #autumn, the #garden is bearing some #fruit which add #colour to the surroundings.

This #squash is about 25 cm long and has turned a very nice #orange #hue.

These #green #grapes are nearly ripe and the #Vine #Leaves are also used in #cooking.

These #blackberries are at various stages of ripeness.

Here are some #cattle resting in the garden. Just kidding! That's from my recent trip to #Dartmoor and have nothing to do with me except that I photographed them.

I didn’t have much luck at the weekend with #botanical #photography - it was rainy and I had a lot of work to do. I want to share, nevertheless, a mobile phone photo of the big #Datura inoxia which showed up between the newly planted #vine #plants in our vineyard… It’s unlikely it came with the vine plants as those arrived without soil, and also the Senior said he has seen Daturas growing on our land in different places before, so it seems to be somewhat established here. May I remind you, that’s not the #Mediterranean, that’s the #Elbe Valley in #Saxony, Germany. (Note: reposted.)

Datura inoxia - plant in a vineyard in the Elbe valley, Saxony, Germany.

Good Morning and happy Sunday. Coffee now, some work mails later and then will spend a few hours with #botanical #photography. I saw some interesting species yesterday in the fatherly vineyard, neophytical species like a quite gigantic Datura inoxia which is a neophyte in warmer regions of Europe, such as the Mediterranean. I am not sure whether its been introduced with new vine #plants we ordered from Southern #Germany or how it arrived here at the Saxon #Elbe Valley, which always was very hot and dry but becoming even more so, due to #climate change effects. Will be interesting to see whether the #plant comes back after the winter - we will have to remove it, as it interferes with the newly planted #vine plants for light and water. #botany #nature #plantphotography #naturephotography #climatechange #neophyte

It's bright and #sunny today and a quick stroll through the #garden shows it's full of life.

The #grapes are ripening and there's a good crop this year..

Of course, not just the #fruit but the #vine #leaves are also edible in dishes like dolmades which I find particularly good for digestion.

On the other side, the #RunnerBean #plants are #flowering and are being frequented by many #pollinators such as this #bee.

A stroll around the back #garden. My spouse is the person responsible for most of this bounty.

The #tomatoes have appreciated the hot conditions of the #summer and are bearing #flowers and #fruit.

#Allium #flowers appear in a variety of #colours and cluster sizes.

#Strawberries have already produced #fruit but are still #flowering too.

Meanwhile, it is too early for the #pumpkin patch to produce #squashes yet but the flowers are also edible. We've had just a few in dishes. You can also see #dill flowers here and as the subject in the subsequent #photograph.

There are a few ornamental flowers too which also help to attract #pollinators.

The #grapes are also ripening on the #vine and we've already enjoyed some of the #VineLeaves for dinner.

The #RunnerBeans continues to #flower even though it has borne #fruit.

The #apples are getting bigger too.

Finally, the #lettuce plants are growing tall and producing seeds for next year.
