Latvian-led coalition to arm Ukraine with 'thousands' of drones
Defense Minister Rustem Umverov said Riga would helm a drone coalition in support of Ukraine's military after talks with his Latvian counterpart Andris Spruds
The coalition aims to arm Ukraine with "thousands" of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The main goal is to do everything possible to ensure that as many of these drones as possible are also delivered to Ukraine
also acknowledged is the importance of drone warfare in Ukraine's fight against Russian aggression. President Volodymyr Zelensky promised on Dec. 19 that Ukraine would produce one million drones in 2024.

Over 30 years ago, Iranian air force performed ab operation that upuntil today is seen as the most daring military operation in history.
At the height of Iraq invasion of Iran, Iraqi had the upper hand in the sky despite the fact that Iranian air force had better equipments and planes, the lack of spare parts and strong Iraqi air defense using Soviet made anti aircraft missiles and artillery as well as Italian and British systems were making it hard for Iran to push Iraq out of the large areas they had captured during the first 3 months of the invasion.
In a daring suggestion, the air force decided to attack the Iraqi main air force located at the border of the country with Syria.
The 2800km flight involving almost entire Iranian air force, including 2 4 tankers started in Hamedan airfield, with refilling of the planes over Azerbaijan, then fly over Iraq at low altitude refule once again inside Iraq and attack the Iraqi field Al-Valeed code named H-3, destroying 20 MIG planes and damaging 10 more plus massive damages to the missiles and air defense storage facilities that were not protected at all since Iraq didn't imagine to have them targeted.
After the operation, Saddam who was infuriated by the failure of his military to detect, intercept and destroy any of the planes involved in the operation, ordered the execution of head of the team and 5 others and imprisoned 20 others staff of the air fileld.
IRI claims that they destroyed 48 Mig-21s and damaging 20 more, but there haa never been any verified report to back those claims.
The attack were the turning point for Iraqi military who later turned to France to purchase Mirage F1 planes as well as Italian attack helicopters and French and British air to sea and air to surface missiles.
The operation involved 4 refueling operations, 2 of them over Iraqi air.

Israel, US holding another joint air drill apparently focused on Iran Exercises simulate strikes on ‘strategic targets in depth’ of enemy territory, include American tankers boosting range of IAF fighter jets
The #Israeli and #American air forces on Sunday launched a joint drill, the latest in a series of exercises apparently aimed at readying the Israel Defense Forces for a potential strike in #Iran.
In a statement Monday, the #IDF said the drill, dubbed Juniper Oak, would include the Israeli #AirForce carrying out #airstrikes against “strategic targets in the depth,” an apparent reference to Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Additionally, the air drills would simulate “achieving aerial superiority in the region and cyber defense against a variety of threats,” the IDF said.
During the drill, #IAF fighter jets were to refuel from an American Boeing KC-46, of which Israel has ordered four and is expected to receive the first in 2025.
Israeli Intelligence and Political Circles are starting to doubt the validity and constraints of the Camp David Treaty, signed in 1979, and considered one of the most important treaties in relations to Israel.
The Mossad believes that :
1 - The Egyptian Border Security forces have become "lackluster" and purposefully allow certain smuggling operations to occur unrestricted, this comes after #Hamas and all other organizations in #Gaza purged themselves of #MuslimBrotherhood elements and made promises that the weapons and arms being sent to them will not be smuggled back or directed towards Egyptian forces.

3 - Mossad notes that Egypt has become the third largest importer of #weapons globally over the past several years, and a sizeable amount of the weapons imported are of an offensive nature, coupled with points 1 and point 2, alongside other points that will be written about, the situation can escalate from "cold peace" to passive or outright hostility.
4 - Israeli lobby attempts in #Germany to prevent the sale of Type 209 #Submarines, which directly threaten the Israeli navy presence in the #RedSea and the Eastern àMediterranean, have failed, although they are succeeding in America by forcing the Americans to refuse to upgrade the arms of "sensitive" fields - like the #Airforce, the same efforts are not bearing fruits in other countries.
5 - The Attempts of diversification from American arms, although tolerated at first, are now considered a national security threat to Israel, because one of the main points of the Camp David Treaty was that Israel would always maintain a Qualitative Edge over American-supplied partners in the region, the recent purchase of #Russian, àChinese, #Indian, #SouthKorean, and #European countries arms, with most of these purchases being of an offensive nature, is causing circles in #TelAviv to be seriously concerned, especially there are Hardliners of a Military and Political nature in Egypt who never believed in #CampDavid in the first place as a long term plan, a researcher at the Israeli Command and Staff college and #Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security links this path to the same one taken by #Nasser, a staunch Egyptian leader who fought 3 #wars against Israel.
6 - Normalization with #Iran is panicking the Israelis, and coupled with the previous points, the noose is figurately, and perhaps literally, being tightened around their necks.
7 - àMossad also noted that although #Egypt is ranked around 40-45th globally in terms of military spending, the quantity, and increase of size, logistical centers, and military factories has increased the standing of Egypt, militarily and industrially, on a regional and international scale around the top 20.

President Donald Trump’s jet was nearly hit by what appeared to be a small drone as it approached an airport near Washington Sunday night, according to several people aboard Air Force One.
The device, which was yellow and black and shaped like a cross, was off the right side of the plane. It was seen by several passengers on the jet, which occurred shortly before the plane touched down at 5:54 p.m....
