The idea being here that apps – #mobile, #desktop, #web, and headless – can find and talk to each other across the #internet privately and securely without having to go through centralized and often corporate-owned systems. Veilid provides code for app developers to drop into their #software so that their clients can join and communicate in a peer-to-peer #community.

Mais ça fait quelques jours que j'ai sorti ma carte SIM d'un smartphone, le laissant malgré tout allumé pour la fonction réveil... Et je réalise que depuis tout ce temps, les email continuent d'être reçus, les messages sur XMPP aussi, etc. Sans Carte #SIM insérée !
D'autre part, j'ai installé en amont #DNS66 qui permet de passer par un DNS libre, et donc de protéger sa #ViePrivée par rapport à son #FAI (fournisseurs d'accès, Free, Bouygues Orange etc) !
Donc.. les FAI ne voient plus mes communications (pas les #données en tout cas) et la carte SIM délogée empêche une surveillance intrusive pilotée à distance à travers elle, .. donc que reste-t-il ? :)
(à part bien sûr, le correspondant, qui lui a peut-être gardé sa carte SIM bien sûr, mais en supposant que l'interlocuteur ait fait pareil ?)

Ou cela fonctionne-t-il encore, car ma carte SIM est logée dans un autre appareil ? Je ne sais pas, mais je ne crois pas, car #XMPP par exemple, n'a pas besoin de mon numéro de tél pour fonctionner, seulement du réseau, wifi notamment.... Mais en effet, il faudrait ne pas la loger ailleurs, évidemment, et pas de synchro avec d'autres appareils.

Bon, le fait de se pointer sur un réseau, 4G ou Wifi, permet évidemment d'identifier l'IP, mais... sans carte SIM, cela ne s'arrêterait pas qu'à ça ? :)

En tout cas, le plus gros souci avec un smartphone #dégooglisé, type #LineageOS, reste la ... #CarteSIM...

A good rule of thumb in testing whether the word is being used correctly is to ask yourself if the supposed gaslighter is in a position of power. If not, it’s difficult to imagine a situation where gaslighting is really happening—just like it’s difficult to imagine Black Lives Matter activists, who are dedicated to acting on behalf of the powerless and vulnerable, engaging in gaslighting the American public. Unless it’s serving the interests of the #powerful, gaslighting just doesn’t ring true. I wanted to express that idea in this Thursday clue: “Methodically manipulate someone with less power into questioning their own perception of reality.”

I noticed that nobody talks to me that I don't know with positive intent. I get all the "drive away your car", "please move", "did you look at my girlfriend" statements, but never a "hey how are you, how was your day going so far". Ever. And I can say that because I do talk to people I don't know with that intent. But nobody does with me. Also, nobody tells me what is off about me when I catch yet another person looking funny at me, so I ask them what it's about. The wild Sparrows and Finches and I have been having a wild time together.
When they land on the 2nd story window ledge for sunflower seeds, and a drink of water, they go into a fancy operatic tweeting to announce their arrival for me to hear. They're showing off their singing skills. Well. I certainly can't match that with my simple whistle tweet reply. And I have no idea what they're saying in their tweets. To reply, I play something for them on my Fender Blues Deluxe Harmonica. Some days this wild tweeting we do goes on from 6:00 AM, to 9:00 PM. I keep my harmonica nearby.

I'm sure they have wondered what kind of bird I am. I have appreciated their sweet way of waking me up in the mornings, their songs all during the day, and their last 'Goodnight' tweets.
