While it's hot and dry as the #summer is progressing, the #tomato #plants are beginning to bear ripening #fruit.

Here are some #tomatoes which are just about ready. I like to see the #Sun reflecting off their smooth shiny surfaces.

This bunch contains #red, #amber and #green ones.

Of course none of them would have come about without #pollinators and so here are a couple of images of #insects on neighbouring the #flowers of #rocket plants.

Approximately a day apart, these two #photographs around #sunset show a marked difference owing to #clouds. In the first, from yesterday, there were some undulations present at height.
High clouds

Today has been sunnier as the clouds have have been more dispersed but there was an interesting interaction of #light and #dark, and #greys, #blues, #golds and #oranges today. A few #birds can also be seen #photobombing the #image.

I was staring at the #garden when having dinner just now and saw what looked like a dark motionless blob hanging below some #Allium #Florets. When I got closer I found it was this #bumblebee which was suspended from its hind legs only. I think it may be dead although I've know #bees to fall asleep on these plants before. But if it is dead, wouldn't it have fallen off? I don't know. If it's still there in the morning, I will presume it has expired. If not, it's sleeping in a funky way.

It has mostly dull and #cloudy today with only short periods of #sunshine. Even just a few minutes ago, it was rather overcast but suddenly, a #clouds broke and #sunight filtered through the layers and there was even some blue #sky during the #sunset.

Then, when I was about to post the above image, I noticed some #pink light in the drawing room and so went and took another set of #photographs. As I've said before, every moment is different and this has much deeper #reds. Take your pick as to which you prefer.

The plants in the #garden, in association with altruistic #insects, are doing rather well. The #Tomatoes, which are in reality about 2 cm in diameter, are at various stages of ripeness.

Here's a group of yet #green ones on a single #stalk.

And here's a close up of another bunch.

Cropping the above image, you can really see some fine detail including fine hairs and yellow dust-like particles on both the #fruit and the stalk.

There are a few #red tomatoes and here's a few amongst verdant surroundings.

Here, I actually like the texture of the background piece of #wood in contrast with the foreground living #plant,

Switching to another plant, I managed to capture the image of this #Bumblebee. They spend only moments on each #RunnerBean #flower before moving onto the next one and so it's difficult to get a decent #photograph of them in action.

Here you can see little runner beans developing. Typically, they will eventually become 20-30+ cm in length in #autumn.

I sometimes wish I'd taken my #camera along with me when I'm #cycling. As today was going to be a bright sunny day, I made sure I did.

Part of the #cycle #track is along the side of a #canal and here you can see what I presume is a family unit of #swans. The #cygnets are pretty well developed by this stage and I guess it won't be long before they will shed their grey #feathers for white ones.

Further along, the path goes over a #straight section of single #RailwayTrack and so you get a nice illustration of the #VanishingPoint of two #ParallelLines. Notice the reflection of the of the blue sky on the smooth #track surface

Not on my usual route, there is a section of double #Tracks which you can see curving to the #left,

or to the #right depending on the direction you're looking.

Finally, here's my faithful #bike itself, which is a veteran of of 20,000 km and counting.

A stroll through the #garden at lunchtime. It's a bright, sunny day here today with very good light conditions and so I just wandered around to see what was of interest to #photograph.

In a pale which is used to store #water for watering #plants, you can see what look like #mosquitoes skating on the surface of the water using #SurfaceTension to keep them on top. No doubt, the females will be laying #eggs. You can see #ripples in the water and reflections of the plants around as well as a few #RosePetals which have fallen into the pale.

The #blackberry plants are flowering. Here are some #white #flowers.

And others are #lilac.

The #RunnerBeans plants are currently less than a metre tall but will grow to close to 3 m in height. However, they're already flowering.

Finally, here's the obligatory #Bumblebee on #Allium #florets but you can see another guest at this hotel, which seems to be a small wasp.

I like the bumblebee so much that here she is again in a cropped version of the above image at full resolution.

My wife was looking at the properties of #ellipses such as the one where the sum of the distance of all points on the #ellipse from the two foci are the same and how that relates to the standard equation of an ellipse and so I showed her using my scribbly #handwriting and untidy drawings. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit home and so I wrote these notes up neatly using #LaTeX, which did do the trick.

To put it up here, I converted the #PostScript pages to #PNG format using #GNU #Gimp and the figure was produced using #Tgif.

This #morning is sunny again but it was #raining overnight and so you can see fresh evidence of precipitation even though the #Sun has risen. I took this photograph from my bedroom window of a #TelephoneCable outside and you see the series of #WaterDroplets suspended from it. The background is of course out of focus but if you look carefully, you can see it focused and distorted in the #droplets themselves.
