Les milliardaires ne devraient pas exister. Ils devraient être taxés jusqu’à ce qu’ils disparaissent.
L’État sécuritaire se développe et devient de plus en plus fasciste.
Les banques, qui investissent encore dans les énergies fossiles, ont besoin d’être embarrassées.
Les manifestations ne semblent rien changer. Il faut changer les lois. Comment changer les lois ? Par l’action politique.
Nous sommes à un point critique : soit nous allons vers l’utopie, soit nous tombons dans la catastrophe.

The country's retirement-age population, aged 60 and over, is expected to increase to more than 400 million by 2035 - more than the entire population of the United States - from about 280 million people currently.
The state-run Chinese Academy of Sciences sees the #pension #system running out of money by 2035.

Population reduction is good for the #environment. Perpetual growth is nonsense on a finite planet. Why not solve this problem now while we are still doing relatively well? I forgot, because it means work for politicians and they're not so good at that. Besides, many people don't want to change and adapt and believe that everything was better in the past. We used to cause the problems in the past that are now threatening to ruin our #future!

At the end of Q3 2023, Hertz told investors that significant price cutting during the year had "resulted in lower #EV residual values, increasing vehicle depreciation expense and negatively impacting salvage cost." Additionally, its rental EVs were damaged or crashed more often, and the much higher cost of repairs for #Tesla vehicles—on average about 20 percent higher than other EVs—has meant that Hertz's Teslas earn it less money per vehicle than its other rentals.

Anyway, there are two more sophisticated cases you can make for the “imperial plunder” #theory of national wealth. The first is that continuing plunder is responsible for income differences between countries. The second is that plunder was necessary to initiate the process that eventually led to industrial #production and modern science. The first of these arguments is wrong; the second can’t easily be disproven, but there’s major reason for doubt.
