Why Do Neo-Nazis Keep Getting Arrested For Child Sexual Abuse Material?

The Order of Nine Angles, or O9A, is one of the most infamous and disgusting far-right groups active today.

They are a decentralized, satanic neo-Nazi organization that encourages members to consume material considered vile by society. The group had been around for decades, but with the help of the internet (and federal informants) their doctrine has become influential in the new wave of militant neo-Nazi accelerationist terrorist groups. While the group has undoubtedly had a large impact on the current far right, it’s intentionally sensationalistic and obtuse in a way that makes reporting on it incredibly difficult. In an explainer about the group, the Institute for Strategic Dialogue writes “several O9A texts promote rape and pedophilia as a way to transgress against civilized norms.”

Rechtsstaat - Wanneer is er precies sprake van ‘affiniteit met het nationaalsocialistische gedachtegoed’? Het is maar net hoe moeilijk je het jezelf wil maken bij zo’n vraag. Ofwel: hoe zelfkritisch een organisatie, in dit geval Defensie, durft te worden. (...)

Dat militairen, in opleiding in dit geval, in appgroepen putten uit de verkeerde symbolen van de Tweede Wereldoorlog kan in hetzelfde frame worden weg gerelativeerd. (...)

Niet voor niets maakte de MIVD zich zorgen over Defensie als werkgever van rechts-radicalen die een opleiding bij hun opvatting zoeken. Mogelijk met het oog op gebruik voor eigen politieke doelen. Dergelijke appgroepen vormen dan een ‘rode vlag’. Maar dan moet je die wel willen zien.

Uit een NRC-onderzoek bleek dat de behoefte van Defensie om zich tegen dergelijk gedrag te beschermen schokkend bescheiden is. Sinds 2018 zijn er twee interne onderzoeken naar extreem-rechts gedrag vastgelopen, op interne tegenwerking of doordat de klager zich geĂŻntimideerd terugtrok. De krijgsmacht liet het daarna bij de conclusie van individueel wangedrag. (...)

Onder deze jonge militairen waren ras, etniciteit, hakenkruizen, nazi-liederen een bron waaruit onderling vrij geput kon worden. Overigens in het collectieve besef dat daarmee grenzen werden overschreden, getuige het georganiseerd wissen van de bestanden. De norm is in ieder geval niet onbekend.

Voor de duidelijkheid: militairen in een democratische rechtsstaat verdedigen exĂĄct die waarden die in WO II dus bĂ­jna het onderspit dolven. Gelijkheid, vrijheid en democratie – wie zich als militair in opleiding in uniform spiegelt aan de nazi’s is ernstig in de war. Of heeft inderdaad andere plannen. Zo iemand dient zĂ©Ă©r tijdig tot de orde te worden geroepen. Dat vraagt om een krijgsmacht die dat besef in de haarvaten heeft. Daar lijkt het nu helaas nog niet op.

  • But the present “state” is the dictatorship of evil. “Oh, we’ve known that for a long time,” I hear you object, “and it isn’t necessary to bring that to our attention again.” But, as I ask you, if you know that, why do you not rouse yourselves, why do you allow these men in power to rob you step by step, both openly and in secret, of one of your rights after another, until one day nothing, nothing at all will be left but a mechanized state system presided over by criminals and drunkards? Is your spirit already so crushed by abuse that you forget it is your right — or rather, your moral duty — to eradicate this system?

  • But if a man can no longer summon the strength to demand his right, then he will definitely perish. We would deservedly be scattered over the earth like dust in the wind if we do not marshal our powers at this late hour and finally find the courage we have lacked up to now. Do not hide your cowardice behind a cloak of expedience, for with every new day that you hesitate, failing to oppose this offspring of Hell, your guilt, like a parabolic curve, grows higher and higher.

  • Many, perhaps most, of the readers of these leaflets cannot see clearly how they can mount an effective opposition. They cannot see any avenues open to them. We want to try to show them that everyone is in a position to contribute to the overthrow of this system. Solitary withdrawal, like embittered hermits, cannot prepare the ground for the overthrow of this “government” or bring about the revolution at the earliest possible moment. No, it can only be done through the cooperation of many convinced energetic people — people who agree on the means they must use to attain their goal. We have few choices as to these means. The only one available is passive resistance.

Additionally, these leaflets and commentary are included in the Gestapo Interrogation Transcripts, Volume 5. They were preserved for us because the Gestapo's crime lab used the typewriters they had confiscated to re-type the leaflets and determine which typewriter had been used to create which leaflets.
