Again i stumbled over some more or less random youtube channel.
It's THEMAJESTIRIUM1 this time.
He seems to have the habit, to follow #FDNY and other rescue services around in New York City. And yes, he even has footage from way back then in late 2001.
Here, he catched a 5th Alert (aka really big fire) of #FDNY units for a "relatively small" Li-Ion Battery pack catching fire, which eventually burned down the whole building including laundromat and super-market/grocery store.

Yes and i know. Watching weirdo footage of accidents, fires and other disasters shouldn't be a thing. But in this case, he actually seems to have a relationship with the rescuers and firefighters overall. They seem to know him and let him stay on scene as far as he safely can.
And he takes on the task to not only show the flames or injured.. but the whole effort needed to remedy the situation overall..
So good, that he even get's thanks and compliments from fire fighting trainers/instructors in his comments which use his footage in class to teach important lessons.
And yes, he totally does a really great job of showing of the whole shebang ... not just "catasprophic entertainment".

Tierrechte für Elefanten?
In New York hat ein Gericht am 14.Juni 2022 darüber entschieden, ob ein bestimmter Elefant in einem Zoo eine Rechtspersönlichkeit hat.
Für diesen Elefanten hatte ein Tierschutzverband eine entsprechende Klage eingereicht.
Immerhin wurde die Klage nicht abgewiesen.
Was Tierrechts-Befürworter schon als Erfolg ansehen.
Das Urteil lautete gegen die Anerkennung der Rechtspersönlichkeit des Elefanten mit 2 zu 7 Stimmen .
Die beiden befürwortenden Richter waren der Ansicht, es hat ‘ein hoch entwickeltes Lebewesen wie ein Elefant einen Anspruch auf Führung eines natürlichen Lebens. Das Leben eines Elefanten in einem Zoo sei demgegenüber „von Natur aus ungerecht und grausam“.’
In Argentinien wurde einer Schimpansin eine Rechtspersönlichkeit von einem argentinischen Gericht zuerkannt .
Leider wird dieses Urteil nicht international als wegweisend betrachtet.
Das New Yorker Gericht beschäftigte sich besonders mit den Auswirkungen eines Anspruchs von Tieren auf ihre Rechtspersönlichkeit.
Hierbei erkannten die Richter naheliegend, daß ein Elefant im Zoo ein noch verhältnismäßig erträglicheres Leben führe, als die üblichen Tiere, die Menschen töten und essen wollen und schlecht halten.
Letztlich wurde die Auswirkung eines Urteils pro Anerkennung der Rechtspersönlichkeit eines Tierens vom Gericht als so gravierend eingeschätzt, dass dies besonders betont wurde: ‘In seinem Urteil wies das Gericht ausdrücklich darauf hin, dass die Anerkennung eines Anspruchs eines Elefanten auf Freilassung aus dem Zoo den Wertekanon moderner Gesellschaften erheblich ins Wanken bringen und sich destabilisierend auswirken könnte.’
Wir erkennen also, daß es seitens des Gerichtes weniger ein Problem mit dem Elefanten selbst gibt, sondern damit, daß wir Menschen nicht mehr Tiere gefangen halten, töten und essen dürften, wenn sie Rechtsperönlichkeiten wären.
Um es noch deutlicher zu sagen: es gibt ein Problem mit den Menschen.
Nicht mit dem Elefanten.

Massaro House is a residence on privately owned Petre Island in Lake Mahopac, New York, roughly 50 miles north of New York city. Its construction was inspired by designs of a never-built project conceived by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright. As conceived it was known as the "Chahroudi House" for the client who commissioned it, Ahmed "A. K." Chahroudi; as built it gained the name of its owner, Joseph Massaro.
Due to a running dispute with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and subsequent out-of-court settlement the home can only be described as being "inspired by Wright" rather than a faithfully rendered, certified Wright design.

Uh oh, I thought I only took a few photos while short-cutting through the park, flowers mostly. Just walking towards the Upper West Side, no ponds or bridges along the way, mostly grass and horse(s) & buggies. Plus so many big tall buildings poking up into what was once sky. Walking. From the Southeast park entrance to Upper West Side. Came out near the very chic Hotel Des Artistes.
Because I can't title them easily "here", I'll just say that it's mostly views of 5th Avenue and Central Park South, from within the park, passing ball fields, flowers, horses and birds along the way, with a stop at the Central Park Carousel and Tavern on the Green.
