There you go!

We made this film 7 years ago with Oren Ginzburg & David Mitchell but sadly the story is the same as ever.
When will people realize that forced development isn’t “progress”? Tribal peoples must be allowed to choose how they live. Stop stealing #Indigenous lands.

Around the world ‘development’ is robbing tribal people of their land, self-sufficiency and pride and leaving them with nothing.

The government of #Ethiopia, which is one of the biggest recipients of American and British overseas aid, is forcibly resettling thousands of self-sufficient tribal people, including #Mursi, #Kwegu and #Bodi, leaving them with no land, cattle herds or livelihood. Unable to sustain themselves they say they are now just ‘waiting to die’. The Prime Minister justified this plan, in a country renowned for famine, by claiming it will give the tribes ‘a modern life’.

The beneficiaries of this ‘development’ are being arrested, beaten and raped. Their grain stores are being destroyed in an effort to force them to give up their lands and their ways of life. The result will be a humanitarian catastrophe.

Happy and Thriving

Tribal peoples living on their own lands generally thrive. Research shows that the world’s richest billionaires are no happier than the average #Maasai herder. However, many governments view tribal peoples’ self-sufficient ways of life as ‘backward’ and embarrassing, often coupled with a desire for the tribes’ lands. Tribal people are forced to comply with other people’s notions of ‘progress’ – usually by becoming settled farmers and having to join the mainstream market economy.

The #DongriaKondh from India grow over 100 crops and harvest almost 200 different wild foods, which provide them with year-round, rich nutrition even in times of drought. They have rejected attempts to be assimilated into the mainstream.

Forced to Change

Tribes, such as the #Penan of #Malaysian #Borneo, are pushed into alien settlements and told to practise ‘modern’ agriculture, despite having an encyclopaedic knowledge of their own environments, which have sustained them, and the biodiversity of their forests, for generations. They are moved to make way for giant dams. These moves are justified by the notion that a transition from hunting and gathering to farming is ‘progress’.

Devastating Consequences
Tribal peoples forced to abandon their traditional food growing, hunting and gathering practices lose their self-sufficiency and are left at the mercy of markets they do not understand and which often exploit them.

As in the There You Go film, tribes faced with this sort of ‘development’ go from independent, thriving communities – kings of their own land – to scraping a living at the very margins of society. Faced with these pressures, and the up-rooting of their ways of life, tribal societies often break down, leading to devastatingly high rates of addiction, suicide and chronic disease.

Land and Choice

This does not mean that tribal people don’t want change: like all peoples, they are constantly changing and evolving. But they must choose and control the direction of this change, not have it imposed upon them by outsiders. The most important factor, by far, for tribal peoples’ well-being is whether their land rights are respected. Once their land is secured they are in a strong position to make their own choices about their ways of life and what ‘development’ they want.

New York’s Stylish Slide Into #Despotism - The Return of the Roaring #Twenties

Source: https://modernheretic.com/

The text is so fitting that this time I have to reproduce very long passages.

concern about the supposed risk posed by “the unvaccinated,” who apparently no longer merit consideration as human beings worthy of compassion; we’ve become in the minds of people like him just a filthy amalgam of contagion and stigma.

They are not, as they have styled themselves in their own delusional minds, the hip Cagney-esque mobster with a heart of gold making gin in the bathtub or the wild flapper dancing the charleston on the roof with a skirt short enough to scandalize the matronly landlady below; they are the scandalized landlady who will snitch to the #police the first chance she gets or the sanctimonious #politician who is building his profitable career on compelled temperance.

#Rebels and #Posers

Despite lusting after subversive non-conformity, these mere re-enactors are content to live in the shadows of their rebel icons, resigned to merely creating the palest imitation of the lives of truly adventurous people from the past instead of having the courage to live their own adventures today. With their obsession for safety, these people can only infuse their lives with the adventure they still crave by living vicariously through others more daring than themselves.

That is why when finally faced with the #opportunity to rage against the machine, these imposters got behind the machine and helped push it along instead. Lacking the moral courage to stand for their supposed convictions, they sublimate their own desire to be deviant into movies and make-believe. From the #punk enthusiast with a shaved head and ripped pants to the John Waters fan who identifies with the Drapes in Crybaby–many of these people who lust after subversive non-conformity and style themselves after countercultural icons are ironically, laughably, pathetically devoted to fitting in.

When it comes to the dichotomy of maestro versus tribal character types, they are #tribal people through and through. In essence, the tribal personality is the #conformist who is conventional, strives to fit in with others, and is great at tasks requiring unity and standardization. The maestro is the aloof non-conformist who is comfortably on their own wavelength, who is not afraid to think outside the box, and prefers to work independently. According to a popular career guidance book, the vast #majority of the population are tribal types, and maestros comprise a tiny minority.

It is easy to see this dichotomy illustrated in the #pandemic. We see it amply demonstrated in mask compliance, with tribal individuals basing the strictness of their mask-wearing, not on any supposed concern about germ prevention— but solely based on what others around them are doing. They are stringent about mask wearing when around others who also appear to be strict in their compliance. But when around others who defy the custom, they let their masks slip down to their chins or even take it off altogether because they know the risk of social ostracism is low. For most people, the mask serves as a social tool rather than a tool of supposed #hygiene.

Tribal people’s sense of values is relative and changes based on their social environments. All the societal evils that have taken place in the United States (and elsewhere) have occurred by the hands of an #establishment with the consent and complicity of masses of otherwise good, tribal-minded people who lacked the #independence and courage to be deviant. If it looks like the majority are going along with something, even something in retrospect that would clearly be deemed wrong or evil, the tribal person will go along with it as well by rationalizing their guilt and responsibility away. These rationalizations, collectively, become mass delusions that are later used to excuse the complicity in the wrong-doing. “We did not now any better,” or “it was a different time,” they will say. Hogwash. They knew exactly what they were doing, but they lacked the courage to stand apart from the crowd. For every mass atrocity that was committed, there was a strident minority that not only knew better but tried to hold the majority to task for its actions. These minorities were #historically and are currently dismissed, ignored, laughed at, socially ostracized, or even penalized.

Progressive #ideology teaches that we are better than previous generations, that we have learned our lessons from past mistakes, and that we will not repeat those mistakes. This is a load of crock, and the past two years have shown that humans are no more evolved now than they were at any previous period, that they are more willing than ever to persecute others for their differences and to subjugate people into #conformity. If nothing else, the pandemic revealed that most people today have no deep understanding of why various past persecutions were wrong, and if persecution today does not look exactly like a persecution of yesterday they cannot recognize it for what it is. Their understanding of persecution as a moral wrong is a reductionist list of rote memorization rather than an innate value borne of an underlying moral #philosophy.

These tribal-minded people, these supposed lovers of #rebellion and #subversion, are going to rationalize their culpability and cowardice away. They always do. They will say that they were operating on the best information they had at the time, that no one could have known, that even the experts were fooled, that they simply followed the leaders and experts.

We cannot let them get away with these lies.

Their complicity was not an innocent mistake as they will try to make us believe, but a willful effort to persecute the rebel #opposition.

Declared emergencies are the most expedient way for governments to seize power and the method by which many military dictatorships come into existence. A medical #dictatorship is a new twist on an old classic. Emergency powers enable politicians to do things they otherwise do not have the power to do and to severely trample on the rights of the citizenry

The Necrophile Hummingbird Netlabel presents Underground Culture by rADio eNd.

"Underground Music for Underground People".

About the surface of this album :
Hypnotic like a free fall without gravity thru altered states... between two parenthesis : the break through and the back to this deadly corrupted world.
About beneath the surface :
Mostly recorded at the same time we released Hum Antenna https://archive.org/details/rADio_eNd_Hum_Antenna , trying the best to digg this way, but with free mind, so that's why it's a different trip perhaps more introspective, I kind of mediation. It's hard to create anything artistic in today world. Especially for my example living in france, when I watch a film like 7 Prisioneiros, which shows how the system is built to corrupt anyone, like if there was no alternative between be a prey or a predator, I feel helpless. How can I help, how creating music can help in such a world were life in so many country seems so hellish ? Seems there will be always the damned flag of Punishement Park floating in the dream of most of population. So that's why this music comes to show as well their will be always people not dreaming to become a predator at the top of food chaine, prefering help other humans to remember what is really making beat their hearts. And it's absolutly not the mainstream fake needs provided to stay in the confort zone of the controled consumerism. Amongst many things It could be the way we listen our relationship to any living being, the free share of our skills, the fertile mix of our differences and particulary the love which make us act for the others. All kind of transcendant things which lead us to realise inedit utopias. However freedom and happyness are hopeless if it's not share by all.

A word from Ed End (to be clear that means it engages only me in the project).
These last months I avoided to talk about the situation here mostly because there is no way to have a real discussion. There is no real arguments It's just an opinion war with behind some who believe that a state care of his population and other who believe that a state won't do it. Actually some have no more the same rights than other because of medical excuses.
It's not that new, because in reality it's an universal thing, everywhere the richs are not with the same rights than the poor, just sometime a trial win for hide the rest. But what is new is that they do not dissimulate it. The french state dissalow to their citizen to choice what to do with our body, with our health. No matter if it could be small problems compare to other shits, when I see a racialized mother asking in a small town library if her children 12 years can come and despite the place is empty the employee refuses because of a vaccinal pass. Each one should be able to choice. If someone want to try an experimental vaccine, I'm ok with it, but I'm not ok if this personn spread the propaganda, and social pressure or threats toward the others. I'm absolutly against some pro experimental vaccine people who talk and act with in their mind, constiously or not, the idea that they would get rid by any way of the people doing not like them. Again that stinky idea that the solution to their probleme is to kill the different ones. I don't care if they are drive by the fear or control by the state or just mindless. That is inacceptable.

This said I'm doing industrial music because I criticise any control mechanism, I could say anything relevant or whatever, that's matter not that much. I could say that you should think by yourself, the process will be still a spokesperson saying you what to do, so it sucks anyway.
Everything is about control or conditionned selfcontrol dissalowing you to think by yourself. It's up to you to shut down the power. I hope you can feel how to escape from the matrix.

Perhaps you'd better stop drink that milk and honey, catch your train to the underground railroad ?

rADio eNd is a process more than a simple musical project...

Inhabitants

An Indigenous Perspective

Inhabitants: An Indigenous Perspective is a feature-length documentary that follows five North American tribes restoring their ancient relationships with the land while adapting to today’s climate crisis.

The film travels across diverse bioregions of North America, from deserts and coastlines, to forests, mountains, and prairies, highlighting the dramatic effects of climate change and stories of indigenous land stewardship practices, which continue to be resilient in the face of a changing climate. The film focuses on five stories: the return of prescribed fire practices by the Karuk Tribe in California; the restoration of buffalo on the Blackfeet reservation in Montana; sustained traditions of Hopi dryland farming in Arizona; sustainable forestry on the Menominee reservation in Wisconsin; and the revival of native Hawaiian food forests in Hawaii.

Although these stories are not connected geographically, and only represent a small portion of the many diverse indigenous communities leading efforts to maintain their cultural practices and identity, they all share the common dimensions of “traditional knowledges.” According to Guidelines for Considering Traditional Knowledges in Climate Change Initiatives,"[traditional knowledges] broadly refer to indigenous communities’ ways of knowing that both guide and result from their communities members’ close relationships with and responsibilities towards the landscapes, waterscapes, plants, and animals that are vital to the flourishing of indigenous cultures."

Climate change poses an immediate threat to Indigenous Peoples’ health, well-being and ways of life. Tribal nations are on the front lines of confronting climate change, including increased frequency and intensity of wildfires, higher temperatures, ecosystem changes, ocean acidification, forest loss, and habitat damage. Climate change also raises questions about what will become of spiritually and culturally significant ecosystem services that are essential to maintaining many tribes’ identities. Indigenous communities are disproportionately harmed by the changing climate as they depend more on natural resources than the US population as a whole. Negative impacts include threats to traditional foods such as fish and crops which have provided sustenance as well as cultural, economic, medicinal, and community health for countless generations.

Emerging threats have galvanized a concerted effort by several tribes to forge ahead with climate-change adaptation strategies. They are leading the way guided by indigenous traditions and are quickly adapting to and even directly counteracting the shifting climate. Examples like the Hopi dry land farming techniques show how to deal with extremely arid and hot weather; the raising of Native Bison on the prairie lands of the Midwest improves carbon sequestration while removing the need for feedstocks; and forest fire management that is being guided by native forestry practices are just a few of the stories that give insight into how much wisdom and importance the indigenous land use practices reflect; and how crucial it is that their story is heard. The indigenous land management practices in the forests, deserts, prairies and coastlines of North America have much to offer to the current conversation surrounding climate adaptation and mitigation.

The First Peoples are estimated to have lived in North America for 15,000 years. In a few short centuries Native Americans have had most of their population systematically erased, almost all their land taken, and also been forced to deal with the disastrous effects of industrialization on their remaining resources. Tribal communities have proven to be remarkably resilient, surviving in some of the most extreme environments and having endured very aggressive marginalization. We can now create a platform for helping these marginalized people share their wisdom about how to live in these lands and how their history and tradition can inform and guide us. This documentary is an effort to give Native Americans an opportunity to share their stories of resilience and wisdom in the face of extreme climatic stress. We as a society can listen and learn from these stories of time tested land use practices. Now is the moment to support Native peoples in becoming leading voices on how to design, create, imagine and live in a more sustainable and resilient world.

This past fall we had the honor of documenting the prescribed fire traditions of the Karuk Tribe in Northern California and the sustainable forestry operations of the Menominee Tribe in Wisconsin. These stories are being woven into a feature length documentary Inhabitants due out in 2020. Folks have been asking a lot about the Woodlanders series and although I took a break last summer to focus on this feature film we are ramping up for a new season of short films starting in the Pacific Northwest next month. Thanks for your patience and support. — Costa Boutsikaris (2019)

#Woodlanders is an online film series that seeks to document the work of people who care for and depend on forests for their livelihood and well-being throughout the world.

Even among today’s progressive movements of local economy and food systems, the vast global knowledge of forest livelihoods and economies are mostly undervalued and undocumented. From woodcraft and nut tree cultures of ancient Europe, to mushroom and forest medicines of Asia, there many fascinating ways of creating sustainable economies from the forests while maintaining their ecological health and complexity. While filming Inhabit - A Permaculture Perspective I fell in love with woodland cultures and felt called to research further. Over the past year I began to create an accessible archive of these stories and I hope to share this inspiring world with you. Sustainable relationships with forests regenerate and protect these wild places while also offering livelihoods to humans. Each episode will focus on a person or culture who has a sustainable relationship and/or livelihood with a forest. Join me on the journey and learn how much forests can offer. — Costa Boutsikaris

The Necrophile Hummingbird netlabel and Internet Daemon (Cian Orbe Netlabel) present
Tohu Wa Bohu Disc 1 & 2
"Unreal Music for Real People" or "Real Music for Unreal People" ?
Disc 1 in free download here https://archive.org/details/Invisible_Illusion_Tohu_Wa_Bohu_Disc_1/
Disc 2 in free download here https://archive.org/details/tohu-wa-bohu-disc-2

I'm very happy that the first Invisible Illusion is a split with Humanfobia. I orientated my sound with this project to be closer of witch house style for example because of Cian Orbe Netlabel compilations like this one https://archive.org/details/v-a-post-witch-music-vi and also because we share very close ideas about free music.
This is not the first time we do a split, we already did one "Strange Pearls" https://archive.org/details/yaka-anima-yoshiwaku-strange-pearls-split with other projects. But this time the process is slightly different, and that's why this is not a rADio eNd album, last summer I sent the raw improvisation session to Humanfobia and they created these upgraded tracks listenable on disc 2. And next I reworked a little the raw tracks adding one or two layers on one, reading poetry on another one and that's the disc 1.

While I was trying hard to cut out the Gordian knot about how to organise this split album, thinking about to melt our contributions in the playlist or to follow the rhythm progression for Humanfobia playlist etc, I noticed Humanfobia choice to base their tracks on the 10 egyptian plagues instead of me who based it on the seven plagues of the apocalypse. So I kept the 10 plagues order for the playlist and split the album in two discs.
This to point out that what could seems a missunderstanding could be more meaningfull about the way these two propheties could be link.
Same way I'm not that much in apocalypse topic, really not into collapsology I didn't choice the theme, it comes by itself. But I noticed that in addition of "The World is Over !",
archive.org/details/VA_The_World_is_Over__A_side and despite it's still not achieve we've got a Multiple Personality 3 album called Glauko Psyche waiting since several years amongst other things like the french lyrics of Paroxysmic Rhapsody with that sort of end of time theme. Perhaps it's only because that I feel everything around, I don't make any statement about it I just think there are many signs. So perhaps the way this album is organise could talk about the way it's organise between real life and myths, who knows ?
I can only hope each one is conscious about the disasters humanity is spreading over this world.
And that we will not let this rot like a larva wasting its ressources before turn into butterfly and then diying stupidly.
But that we will do obvious choices to stop all this shit. There is a time to think and a time to act.

Last thing this is a share of free culture, and it's not a hasard if there are two poems ( In french here https://lundi.am/Arracher-l-art-a-l-artifice ) from an anonymous writer in this album,
free culture is not only the opposite of property but also of narcissic behavior. It was so good to read the writer answer to do whatever I want because its writing owns itself.
This is one of Brion Gysin & William S Burroughs legacy : the Cut-Up teaching shows that most of the artist live only with the illusion to be generator,
because everything is a permanent mix of conscious and subconscious sources. Others know they are only mediums and care of their artworks that way. I mean if we bring children on earth it's for they do their own choices. Not to be steril clones stuck in a loop.

I struggle for free culture since more than 20 years because the free share of ressources seems for me the key for a world no more rule by nations or multinational corporations.
And that's one of the things I'm talking about we are all connected to each one, and we need to get ride of the separation illusion.
Invisible Illusion may be a kind of key.

Before this album two tracks by Invisible Illusion are allready release on these excellent compilations :
Communitas Volume 2 https://mickmagic.bandcamp.com/track/unreal-mixtape

And last thing there is an interview here in aproximative english here https://cian-orbe-netlabel.blogspot.com/2021/10/interview-with-ed-end-2021.html or in french in podcast here https://aligrefm.org/podcasts/la-vie-est-un-roman-08-juin-2021-le-colibri-necrophile-ed-end-1400

Tribal Justice

Two Native American judges reach back to traditional concepts of justice in order to reduce incarceration rates, foster greater safety for their communities, and create a more positive future for their youth. By addressing the root causes of crime, they are providing models of restorative justice that are working. Mainstream courts across the country are taking notice.
