And they still can't stop Chinese spy balloons 😂😂

Remember kids, next time you wonder why you don't have high speed train, functioning public transport,. Universal health care, paid maternity leave and guaranteed retirement age; this is what all those sad socialist countries don't have.

Be proud, stand up for natural anthem before every sport event, bow down to the flag and be proud you live in the best country on earth.

Martin Luther King Jr. ~ A True and Visionary Radical

January15,1929 - April 4,1968

As we celebrate #Martin-Luther-King-Jr-Day, let’s look at some of the things he said that challenged #capitalism and are left out of most history books.

“I imagine you already know that I am much more #socialistic in my economic theory than capitalistic… Capitalism started out with a noble and high motive… but like most human systems it fell victim to the very thing it was revolting against. So today capitalism has out-lived its usefulness.”

Letter to Coretta Scott, July 18, 1952.
“In a sense, you could say we’re involved in the #class-struggle.”
-Quote to New York Times reporter, Jose Igelsias, 1968.

“And one day we must ask the question, ‘Why are there forty million poor people in America? And when you begin to ask that question, you are raising questions about the #economic-system, about a broader distribution of wealth.’ When you ask that question, you begin to question the capitalistic economy. And I’m simply saying that more and more, we’ve got to begin to ask questions about the whole #society…”
-Speech to Southern Christian Leadership Conference Atlanta, Georgia, August 16, 1967.

“Capitalism forgets that #life-is-social. And the kingdom of brotherhood is found neither in the thesis of communism nor the antithesis of capitalism, but in a higher synthesis.”
-Speech to Southern Christian Leadership Conference Atlanta, Georgia, August 16, 1967.

“Call it #democracy, or call it #democratic-socialism, but there must be a better distribution of wealth within this country for all God’s children.”

Speech to the Negro American Labor Council, 1961.
“We must recognize that we can’t solve our problem now until there is a radical #redistribution of #economic and #political #power… this means a #revolution of #values and other things. We must see now that the evils of #racism, economic #exploitation and #militarism are all tied together… you can’t really get rid of one without getting rid of the others… the whole structure of American life must be changed. America is a #hypocritical nation and we must put our own house in order.”

Report to SCLC Staff, May 1967.
“The evils of #capitalism are as real as the evils of #militarism and evils of #racism.”
-Speech to SCLC Board, March 30, 1967.

“I am now convinced that the simplest approach will prove to be the most effective - the solution to poverty is to abolish it directly by a now widely discussed matter: the #guaranteed #income… The curse of poverty has no justification in our age. It is socially as cruel and blind as the practice of cannibalism at the dawn of civilization, when men ate each other because they had not yet learned to take food from the soil or to consume the abundant animal life around them. The time has come for us to civilize ourselves by the total, direct and immediate #abolition-of-poverty.”

Where do We Go from Here?,1967.
“You can’t talk about solving the economic problem of the Negro without talking about billions of dollars. You can’t talk about ending the slums without first saying #profit must be taken out of slums. You’re really tampering and getting on dangerous ground because you are messing with folk then. You are messing with captains of industry. Now this means that we are treading in difficult water, because it really means that we are saying that something is wrong with capitalism.”

Speech to his staff, 1966.
“We are saying that something is wrong … with capitalism… There must be better distribution of wealth and maybe America must move toward a democratic socialism.”

Speech to his staff, 1966.
“If America does not use her vast resources of wealth to end poverty and make it possible for all of God’s children to have the basic necessities of #life, she too will go to hell.”

Speech at Bishop Charles Mason Temple of the Church of God in Christ in support of the Memphis sanitation workers’ strike on March 18th, 1968, two weeks before he was assassinated.

The marriage of military metaphysics with eschatological ambition is a misbegotten one... it invites endless war and the ever-deepening militarization of U.S. policy... as it alienates people and nations around the world, it will leave the United States increasingly isolated. If history is any guide, it will end in bankruptcy, moral as well as economic, and in abject failure.

Despite the crisis triggered by the Russian military debacle, Russia and China are being objectively driven closer together by the escalating US war drive.

Emboldened by the Russian debacle in Northern Ukraine, the US is only escalating its preparations for a global military conflict that threatens all of humanity.

“Do you have something against African reporters?”

A day after the U.S. announced its new strategy towards Sub-Saharan Africa, and with a new Commander assuming command of AFRICOM today, African reporters say they have to "beg for questions" from Biden's Press Secretary.

Oh she is "African American" she can't be held accountable for ignoring questions from African reporters regarding US politics in Africa.

It's not like she is a Trump supporter or anything.

Just switch the channel. Morocco's occupation and horrible human rights records in Western Sahara is perfectly is nothing to worry about. They are US allies and it makes them beyond any criticism.

If it's good for America, then it's not called occupation.

No Way Out but War, by Chris Hedges

The permanent #war #economy, implanted since the end of World War II, has destroyed the private economy, bankrupted the nation, and squandered trillions of dollars of taxpayer money. The monopolization of capital by the #military has driven the US #debt to $30 trillion, $ 6 trillion more than the US GDP of $ 24 trillion. Servicing this debt costs $300 billion a year. We spent more on the military, $ 813 billion for fiscal year 2023, than the next nine countries, including China and Russia, combined.

We are paying a heavy social, political, and economic cost for our #militarism. #Washington watches passively as the U.S. rots, morally, politically, economically, and physically, while China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, India, and other countries extract themselves from the tyranny of the U.S. dollar and the international Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), a messaging network banks and other financial institutions use to send and receive information, such as money transfer instructions. Once the U.S. dollar is no longer the world’s reserve currency, once there is an alternative to SWIFT, it will precipitate an internal #economic collapse. It will force the immediate contraction of the U.S. empire shuttering most of its nearly 800 overseas military installations. It will signal the death of Pax Americana.

Germany prepares for World War III with the passage of 100 billion euro “Bundeswehr Special Fund”

German ruling class are like:
Bildbeschreibung hier eingeben

With this decision, the ruling class has set into motion the biggest rearmament spiral since the fall of the Nazi regime. The political, historical and social implications are enormous. In the words of Chancellor Olaf Scholz (Social Democratic Party, SPD), Germany—already ranked fifth among countries with the highest military budgets—will in future have “by far the largest conventional army in Europe.”

Again: Germany will be the largest army in Europe. I really don't understand how Poland, France, UK are just ok with that. There has been a very good reason, that Germany was "militarily castrated" after WW2. Now German journalists are even endorsing the idea that Germany should get its own thermo-nuclear Bombs do "defend" German interests...while an economical crisis is looming on the horizon, that will disrupt Europe/Germany societies.

Recipe for Disaster

In the UK? They're trying to force militarism on little kids

If you're on Twitter you can join in the social media response:

On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June, members and allies of the Peace Pledge Union will tweet @Tesco to ask the company how they feel about small children handling weapons – and why they are sponsoring an event with so little concern for the welfare of children.

You can also protest in person: Day of action: resist militarism, resist Armed Forces Day!

As we approach International Conscientious Objectors’ Day, I hope you will read:

Thoughts of a Russian peace activist

Ilya Kurtsev, a 20-year-old #Russian pacifist, has been in touch with the Peace Pledge Union about protests in #Russia against the #war in #Ukraine. Ilya offers #solidarity to people in all countries who are challenging war and #militarism. We are pleased that he supports the PPU's campaigns. He told us, "Your work against British government militarism is incredibly important".

Here, Ilya has written about the anti-war movement in Russia, along with his thoughts on why it is not stronger. This is his article.
