Lüdersdorf: Vermisstes Känguru "Skippy" wieder eingefangen | NDR.de - Nachrichten - Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

And we have kangaroos in Germany as well!

The runaway kangaroo "Skippy" has been searched for since the beginning of the year. Now it has reappeared in Lüdersdorf, on the border with Schleswig-Holstein, and has been caught.

The owner of the kangaroo is Jens Kohlhaus from Sternberger Burg near Sternberg (Ludwigslust-Parchim district). He had already tried to recapture the animal several times, but this proved to be difficult. Skippy was last spotted at the end of March between the villages of Sülten and Sagsdorf.
Kangaroo captured 80 kilometers from its home

"Skippy" was captured on Thursday by a man in Lüdersdorf (Northwest Mecklenburg district), the police have now announced. This is close to the border with Schleswig-Holstein and around 80 kilometers from his home enclosure. The kangaroo is now in the man's horse pen and the owner of the runaway has been informed. Whether the kangaroo has already been handed over to its owner and where it has been hanging around for more than six months remains unclear for the time being.

"A pig's head wrapped in the flag of #Palestine with a text "#Ukraine stands with #Israel" was found in #Berlin's oldest mosque.

Police are reportedly investigating.

As of February 2024, there are about 1.1 million Ukrainian #refugees in #Germany. #Zelensky has previously claimed that Israel had an unquestionable right to defend itself from attacks from Palestine."

Not that we, of all people, believe in the German rule of law. It is common practice that deportations, for example, are usually carried out in exactly the same way in order to prevent any possible legal recourse. However, the fact that institutions such as the Public Prosecutor General’s Office in #Berlin explicitly ignore decisions by the Federal Constitutional Court and deliberately act contrary to them is something of a novelty in Germany. This says a lot about the political will to repress and the constitution of some German authorities.

Not from the Onion (from April 12)!

Berlin will compensate 113,000 Holocaust survivors in Israel in the form of $27 million (€25 million), according to the German finance ministry.

“Many Holocaust survivors were hit particularly hard by the Hamas attacks, whether through the loss of their homes, support systems in the form of care,” a German finance ministry spokeswoman said.

  • The color of exhaust you see coming out of a steam locomotive’s smoke stack indicates how efficiently it is burning fuel. Darker or blacker smoke is an indication that small fuel particles (coal, wood, fuel oil, etc.) have made it through the firebox unburned and are therefore wasted. Light or nearly invisible exhaust means that the locomotive fuel is mostly burned and transformed into heat, carbon dioxide, water, and trace elements. Factors affecting how efficient a locomotive burns fuel include the skill of the fireman on the engine, the quality of the fuel used, the design of the locomotive itself, and the amount of work the engine is doing. Similar concerns affect the efficiency of internal combustion engine locomotives as well.
