Only for those who are able to listen to the pro-Russian/Chinese and Western critical stance on certain Western policies, for everyone else it is a waste of time.
Some of these points need review, but I will say that it is important to hear all positions on issues.

I avoid taking sides, but I tend to listen more to the side that is hated by the masses.
Therefore, I like to share posts that contradict the mainstream news without completely assuming their truthfulness. Because, I want to avoid having to stand there at some point and say with the chorus.
“I didn't know anything about all this.”

Powerful explosions reported in Krayot area (near Haifa), northern Israel.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has asked China's foreign minister and other counterparts to use their influence to dissuade Iran from striking Israel, the State Department said Thursday.

Iran Foreign Minister rejects any attempts at mediation, says that countries 'should have condemned the Israeli aggression when they had the chance', and that a punishment is definitely necessary

The United States said on Thursday it had restricted its employees in Israel and their family members from personal travel outside the greater Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Be'er Sheva areas amid Iran's threats to retaliate against its regional adversary"

➡️ The Iranian state news agency IRNA wrote on Wednesday that “the time is ripe to punish Israel”. It claimed a final decision on how to respond to Israel had been made, adding a failure to respond would undermine Iran’s “deterrence.”

➡️ The Tasnim news agency, which is close to the Revolutionary Guards, also wrote that Iran’s “punishment” for Israel was inevitable and would be “heavy”.

➡️ But it said how and when Iran would act was confidential and that reports suggesting that Tehran would respond over the next few days or was planning a missile and drone strike were only speculation.

➡️ Iran’s foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian held phone conversations with foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, United Arab Emirates and Qatar on Wednesday night, with the ministry saying the consequences of Israel’s attack on the Iranian consulate were among the topics discussed. He also spoke to his Turkish counterpart on Thursday.

➡️ Israeli security analysts have said an Iranian attack could range from a strike via one of Iran’s proxies, such as Hizbollah, to a direct attack on Israel from Iran itself, which could risk an escalation of the regional conflict.

#Biden says he’s considering #Australia’s request to drop #prosecution of #Wikileaks founder #Assange

source: https://apnews.com/article/biden-australia-assange-wikileaks-2cd31cf5a9983f3523a7c3de72b5078e

For years, Australia has called on the U.S. to drop its prosecution against Assange, an Australian citizen who has fought U.S. extradition efforts from #prison in the U.K. Asked about the request on Wednesday, as he hosted Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida for an official visit, Biden said, “We’re considering it.”

Hopefully he won't think about it until he forgets it again or is no longer President. 😒

What’s the #PhiladelphiCorridor #border zone that #Israel wants to control?

Prime Minister Benjamin #Netanyahu told a weekly news conference on Saturday that the Philadelphi Corridor “must be in our hands” and shut down to ensure the #security outcome #TelAviv desires.

...

Both #Egypt and #Hamas have been against Israel regaining control of the corridor, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has repeatedly said sCairo won’t allow Palestinians to be displaced from their homeland into Egypt.

#Netanyahu just forbid his cabinet members to meet with #US state department staff at all levels including #Blinken.

I truly don't understand how Israel can get away with treating American officials, even their presents like this.

It is as if Israel is the superpower and US is tiny shitty country out there dependent on Israeli protection, money and weapons.

It's truly unbelievable.

Don’t Give Up on a Better #Russia

source: https://archive.is/20231228124345/https://www.foreignaffairs.com/russian-federation/dont-give-better-russia

Borders with Russia are being closed for ordinary Russians (although oligarchs still find ways to get out).

...

A different course would be more effective. In order to steer both the Russian establishment's and ordinary people's opinions toward returning occupied territories to #Ukraine, the United States and #Europe need to grant protection to people running from Russia, and they need to stop discriminating against Russians abroad. They have to make more compelling assurances that they will not try to dismember Russia, and they need to offer some form of amnesty to officials who oversee a democratic transition. Finally, and most important, they have to lay out a clear roadmap of how, and under what conditions, they will lift both individual and national #sanctions.

Israelis adding their voice to millions of voices around the world who accuse the government of PM Netanyahu of committing ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza may give credence to South Africa's lawsuit.

Dr Anat Matar, one of the petition initiators, told The New Arab that she is filing the petition to the ICJ in The #Hague on Tuesday.

"I initiated this petition first of all because I wanted to show that there is part of Israeli citizens who agree with South Africa's move".

Dr Anat Matar holds a senior lecturer position at Tel Aviv University, where she teaches political philosophy. In addition, she advocates for 'draft refusers', a small segment of Israelis who refuse to serve in the Israeli army because they oppose the occupation.

"What I know for sure is that this war must be stopped immediately. Every moment that passes is a crime".
Israeli member of Knesset Ofer Cassif from the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality-Jabha announced that he's also supporting the initiative.

"My constitutional duty is to Israeli society and all of its residents, not to a government whose members and its coalition are calling for ethnic cleansing and even actual genocide", Cassif wrote on the social media platform X.

Focus on military strategies, versus diplomatic strategies

PNAC fellow Reuel Marc Gerecht stated:

"We have no choice but to re-instill in our foes and friends the fear that attaches to any great power. ... Only a war against Saddam Hussein will decisively restore the awe that protects American interests abroad and citizens at home".

Professor Emeritus Jeffrey Record of the Strategic Studies Institute,[58] in his monograph, Bounding the Global War on Terrorism and William Rivers Pitt, in Truthout argued that PNAC's goals of military hegemony were overly ambitious given what the military can accomplish, that they failed to recognize "the limits of US power", and that favoring the pre-emptive exercise of military force instead of diplomacy could have "adverse side effects."[59][60][61] Paul Reynolds made similar observations.[40]

In 2006 former executive director of the PNAC Gary Schmitt said PNAC had never been intended to "go on forever," and had "already done its job," suggesting that "our view has been adopted."[62] In 2009 Robert Kagan and William Kristol created a new think tank, the Foreign Policy Initiative, which scholars Stephen M. Walt and Don Abelson have characterized as a successor to PNAC

From right wing South American telegram channel: A former U.S. diplomat who served as the ambassador to Bolivia has been arrested in a lengthy FBI counterintelligence investigation, accused of secretly serving as an agent of the Cuban government.

📌 Manuel Rocha, 73, was arrested in Miami on a criminal complaint, and more details about the case are expected to be made public in a court appearance.

⚠️ An informant said that the Department of Justice's case accuses Rocha of working to promote the interests of the Cuban regime. Federal law requires individuals working for a foreign government or entity within the United States to register with the Department of Justice, which in recent years has intensified criminal enforcement against illicit foreign lobbying groups.

📝 Rocha's 25-year diplomatic career unfolded under both Democratic and Republican administrations, much of it in Latin America during the Cold War, a period of sometimes tough U.S. policies and military interventions. His diplomatic posts included a stint at the U.S. Interests Section in Cuba at a time when the United States lacked full diplomatic relations with Fidel Castro's communist government.

🇧🇴 In his subsequent role as ambassador to Bolivia, he directly intervened in the 2002 presidential race, warning weeks before the vote that the United States would cut aid to the poor South American country if it elected former coca grower Evo Morales.

🌐 Rocha also served in Italy, Honduras, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, and worked as a Latin America expert for the National Security Council.
