WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
Source: War Monitor

The main points from Putin's interview to Pavel Zarubin:

▪️ About #depleted #uranium #DU #shells for #Ukraine:

Shells with such uranium do not belong to the category of weapons of mass destruction, but they generate radiation dust and pollute crop areas. Russia has something to answer - we have hundreds of thousands of such shells, but so far we have not used them.

▪️ On tactical nuclear weapons in #Belarus: We agreed, without violating the START Treaty, to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. On July 1, the construction of a storage facility for it will be completed there. This is not unusual - the United States has been deploying nuclear weapons in NATO countries for a long time.

▪️ About the talks with Xi Jinping:
The leader of #China is well prepared, it was interesting to talk with him, he knows the details about his country and the world economy. Xi Jinping paid much attention to Beijing's #peace plan for Ukraine. But the main focus of the talks was on the economy.

▪️ About the terrorist attacks on Nord Stream:
The president fully agrees with the conclusions of journalist Seymour Hersh about the involvement of the US intelligence services. #Denmark responded in a streamlined way to Russia about a joint survey of the Nord Stream lines, that it does not need help, and even now this survey no longer makes sense

▪️ About analogies between pension reforms in #France and #Russia:
In Russia, all preferential early retirement regimes have been preserved, but not in France, citizens there consider this approach to be excessively harsh. But the protests in France are an internal affair of this country.

Russian Military Warns Uranium Shells Will Cause Irreversible Harm To All Ukrainians

...

"Depleted uranium has for decades been used by NATO, and was known for being used against Serbian forces in the late 1990’s, as well as in Iraq. It is two-and-a-half times denser than steel, and thus can penetrate armor, for example it can cut straight through tanks.

China has previously condemned the use of depleted uranium by the Western alliance:"

Sending #Depleted #Uranium Munitions To #Ukraine Is A #War Crime Against The Ukrainian People?

Depleted uranium is the gift that keeps on killing. Just ask the people of Iraq. Cancer rates and birth defect rates both went up exponentially after the U.S. military systematically defiled their air, water and soil with depleted uranium. And it doesn’t go away. 10 years after the invasion of Iraq, a team of scientists “detected high levels of uranium contamination in soil samples at three sites in the province of Nineveh”, and those high levels were being directly blamed for “dramatically increasing rates of childhood cancers and birth defects at local hospitals”. Under no circumstances should depleted uranium munitions ever be used in warfare, and our leaders know this. But now the western powers will be sending depleted uranium munitions to Ukraine, and this is nothing less than a war crime against the Ukrainian people.

Baroness Goldie, the UK’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Defence, created quite a stir when she publicly answered a question about depleted uranium munitions on Monday…

I cannot even begin to describe how morally wrong it is to do this.

Yes, these munitions will be used to strike Russian forces, but it is the Ukrainian people that will really suffer in the long run.

If you doubt this, just go to Google images and do a search for “depleted uranium Iraq birth defects”.

What you will see will make you want to vomit.

The same deformities will happen to countless numbers of Ukrainian children if we do not find a way to stop this.

Needless to say, the Russians clearly understand the threat. In fact, earlier this year one Russian official publicly stated that sending depleted uranium munitions to Ukraine would be the equivalent of using “dirty nuclear bombs against Russia”…

The price of gold and US$ dropped by up to 20% after @Iran, @Saudi agreement was announced.

The @US$ fell bellow 46k tuman that is way bellow it's peak at 60k just a week ago.

Same is with #gold coins.

It is an indication of the market hoping that the latest agreement will lead to more progress in the coming weeks and months.

There are rumers that Russia and china have both agreed to the terms of the àJCPOA2 and #IRI has also agreed to the terms of the agreement that are slightly harder than JCPOA and prevents Iran from #enrichment of #Uranium above the levels set by the #NPT.

Next week a group of observers from IAEA will arrive in Iran to verify the functionality and reactivation of UN watchdog's surveillance cameras in major Iranian nuclear facilities and to make sure that the so called traces of 68.2% enriched uranium was nothing but a mistake.

#Biden administration has shown 0 interest in the work of #IAEA or returning to #JCPOA under any conditions and it's aligning It's policies with those of the fascist coalition government of Netanyahu/Ben-Gvir of #Israel.

Iran Nuclear Inspectors Find Uranium Enriched to 84% Purity

International atomic monitors in Iran have detected uranium enriched to levels just below nuclear weapons-grade, risking an escalation over Tehran’s expanding program.

This is not good, not for Iran, not for the world peace. I really hope Reisi is not stupid enough to push for such stupid gamble.

White House Refuses to Say If #Ukraine Will Get #Toxic #Depleted #Uranium Ammo

Bradley Fighting Vehicles can use depleted uranium shells that are linked to cancer and birth defects in Iraq
by Dave DeCamp Posted onJanuary 26, 2023CategoriesNewsTagsIraq, Ukraine

The White House refused to say if it will provide Ukraine with Bradley Fighting Vehicles equipped with radioactive depleted uranium rounds, ammunition that is linked to cancer and birth defects.

Depleted uranium is typically created as a byproduct of producing enriched uranium and is extremely dense, making it an effective material to pierce the armor of tanks. Bradleys can be equipped with depleted uranium ammunition, which is why they are known as “tank killers.”

When asked on Wednesday if the Bradleys the US is sending to Ukraine will be equipped with depleted uranium, a senior Biden administration official said, “I’m not going to get into the technical specifics.” The official also declined to answer if the M1 Abrams tanks the US is providing Kyiv will be equipped with a depleted uranium cage.

Konstantin Gavrilov, the head of Russia’s delegation in Vienna on arms control, has warned Moscow would view the use of depleted uranium weapons in Ukraine as the use of a “dirty bomb.” Gavrilov claimed that Germany’s Leopard 2 tanks could also be equipped with depleted uranium rounds.

“In case such munitions for NATO-made heavy weapons are supplied to Kiev, we will consider that as the use of dirty nuclear bombs against Russia with all the consequences that come with it,” he said, according to the Russian news agency TASS.

Cancer and birth defects spiked in Iraq after the Gulf War, during which the US fired an estimated one million depleted uranium rounds. The US also used toxic ammunition in its 2003 invasion, and studies have found that birth defects are more common in areas where depleted uranium was used. Birth defects are still common today in the city of Fallujah.

The Most Radioactive Places on Earth

Radioactive isotopes have shockingly long half-lives – the amount of time it takes them to decay. As a result, radioactive accidents or emergencies potentially leave lifetimes of #toxicity behind in their wake. If you’re a world traveler, it’s worth knowing about some of the most radioactive places on the planet so you can steer clear and prevent exposing yourself to unnecessary doses of direct radiation.

Take Care When Traveling to 5 of the Most Radioactive Places on Earth

Remember learning about half-lives of isotopes in earth science and chemistry? If not, we’ll refresh your memory with this list of commonly-used radioactive isotopes and their half-lives:

#Uranium: 4.5 billion years
#Plutonium 239: 24,300 years
#Plutonium 238: 87.7 years
#Cesium 137: 30.2 years
#Strontium-90: 28-years
Depending on the spill or fall-out situation, and the isotopes involved, certain areas on the planet are off-limits for a generation or two, and others are permanently wiped off the map for all of life as we know it.

As of today’s date, 5 of the most radioactive places on earth are:

Fukishima, Japan
On Friday, March 11, 2011 the Pacific coast of Japan experienced an earthquake with a magnitude upwards of 9.0. This significant movement of the tectonic plates caused a tsunami that destroyed Fukushima, along with its Daiichi Nuclear Plant. Theoretically, the plant was supposed to shutdown in the case of a natural disaster. Instead the generator designated to cool the reactors failed to engage and this lead to a nuclear meltdown.

Ultimately, three active reactors leaked radioactive material, and this was followed by a succession of other nuclear emergencies, including a radioactive spill next to the contaminated wastewater storage pool. In addition to the ground around #Fukushima, adjacent areas of the Pacific coast are also affected.

The power plant is completely shut down and experts believe it will take a full 40-years or more before the plant is completely decommissioned.

Chernobyl, Ukraine
Chernobyl was the nuclear event of the 1980s. On April 26, 1986 one of the world’s largest nuclear disasters occurred when Reactor 4 exploded, and it released radiation that was 100-times more powerful than the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs combined. Very sadly, as a result, the immediate effects of radiation exposure affected six-million innocent people, and experts believe that when all is said and done, the death toll from Chernobyl will be as high as 93,000 people.

#Belarus has been the most-affected area by the disaster, where the population experiences record numbers of thyroid and other types of cancers. Roughly 2,600 square km (almost 1004-square miles) is a designated Exclusion Zone (meaning public access and inhabitants are completely restricted) because of the high levels of radioactivity.

The Polygon
During the cold war, the Soviet Union used an area called #ThePolygon, which is now located in modern-day #Kazakhstan. During that period of time, nuclear experts estimate that as many as 400 #nuclearweapons were tested in that area.

As a result, it’s considered completely uninhabitable – a fact that has shamefully not been enforced upon the more than 500,000 people who have lived in the area throughout the past decades. It’s believe that more than 200,000 people are still suffering from #radiation sickness at some level due to their exposure to radiation. Fortunately, the immediate area has been abandoned and is completely off-limits to visitors.

Hanford, Washington – USA
During WWII, the US manufactured plutonium for #atom bombs in a quiet town called Hanford, Washington. The materials made there were eventually dropped on Nagasaki. Then, during the Cold War, Hanford’s plutonium manufacturing efforts ramped up again in order to produce 600,000 additional nuclear weapons.

The plutonium plant in #Hanford is now decommissioned, but (see half-life numbers above) it currently contains roughly two-thirds of our nation’s highly #radioactivewaste – in both solid and liquid forms. Radioactive waste has contaminated an estimated 200 square miles of groundwater in the area as well, making Hanford the most radioactive place in the United States.

Goias, Brazil
#Goias has one of the most interesting stories of them all because the radioactive waste was uncovered during a robbery attempt back in 1987. Two men broke into an abandoned hospital, hoping to steal scrap metal. While there, they noticed a cancer therapy device that contained a glowing, blue material the criminals couldn’t resist.

The robbers stole the machine and – oblivious to the fact that the glowing, blue material was radioactive – they started calling up friends, neighbors and family to come take a look at this amazing glowing object. Sadly, everyone who heeded the call was exposed to radiation. More than 250 people were admitted to the hospital, four of whom died. The Brazilian government was called in to clean up the area but the unprecedented event left #radioactiveparticles spread across a large area.

Always Use Adequate Protection When Exposed to Radioactive Materials
The above places and stories are prime examples of what great respect medical and industrial professionals must have and hold for the materials they work with. Always protect yourself from any level of radiation exposure to err on the safe side.

Two-thirds of #IAEA board backs Western statement pressuring #Iran

Two-thirds of the U.N. nuclear watchdog's 35-nation Board of Governors endorsed a non-binding statement by the United States, Britain, France and Germany on Wednesday pressing Iran to explain why #uranium traces were found at three undeclared sites.

At its last quarterly meeting in June the International Atomic Energy Agency's Board of Governors passed a resolution expressing "profound concern" that the traces remain unexplained due to insufficient cooperation by Iran, and calling on Tehran to engage with the watchdog "without delay"

France, Britain and Germany say Iran's stance on IAEA probe jeopardises nuclear talks

The EU 3 falling in line with Israeli/Saudi line to put the blame on #Iran after they cowardly followed #Trump's pressure to ignore their 2015 agreement of #JCPOA that gave the hardliners to blame previous president for his naive believe in making a deal with western powers and instead pushed on increasing the enrichment capacity, the level and amount of enriched #Uranium into the highest amount ever.

The cowardice of #EU nations and their betrayal of a multi national agreement has helped the fanatic faction of #IRI to justify their actions and stepping up their ability to create enough pure Uranium to be able to build a nuclear weapon in less tha a week.
