Horrifying eyewitness reports of torture and mistreatment by israeli police and military by Palestinians released from the draconian Israeli detention

Israel since many years ago, Israeli police and occupation forces can grab and imprison Palestinians without ever charging thrm.

During their detention, they can't have access to legal help nor visit by outside organizations such as Red Cross or Red Cresent, much less human rights organizations.

The testimonies of these people are the top of an iceberg of people who were subjected to the most barbaric type of torture, both physical and psychological and various types of mistreatments including sleep deprivation and starvation.

Almost every human rights organization in the world has loads of such testimonies, including autopsy reports of those who were killed under torture, something that was blocked after Israeli government stopped releasing the bodies of the Palestinians who died in their custody.

Klimaproteste als "kriminelle Vereinigung"?

Amnesty International fordert dazu auf, einen Offenen Brief an Justizminister Buschmann zu unterschreiben und zu fordern, dass FRIEDLICHER PROTEST NICHT KRIMINALISIERT WERDEN DARF! Veränderung braucht Protest! Sei es bei Pride-Demos fur LGBTI-Rechte, Demos für Antirassismus oder Klimagerechtigkeit. Doch gerade "störender" oder "unbequemer" Protest wird in Deutschland als kriminell abgestempelt.

Amnesty schreibt: In Deutschland wird der Paragraf 129 aus dem Strafgesetzbuch auf Bildung einer "kriminellen Vereinigung" benutzt, um unliebsame Proteste zu verfolgen. Davon sind aktuell auch Klimaaktivist*innen der Letzten Generation betroffen. Wir fordern zum Schutz der Versammlungsfreiheit eine Reform des §129 StGB!

Warum ist der §129 StGB aus Sicht der Menschenrechte so problematisch

Schon ein anfänglicher Verdacht erlaubt es den Ermittlungsbehörden, einschneidende Maßnahmen wie Hausdurchsuchungen oder Überwachungsmaßnahmen zu ergreifen. Diese sind außerdem nicht auf die konkreten Tatverdächtigen beschränkt, sondern können ihr gesamtes Umfeld betreffen. All das hat nicht nur extreme Konsequenzen für die unmittelbar Betroffenen, sondern wirkt abschreckend auf ganze Bewegungen und ist deshalb ein Angriff auf die Zivilgesellschaft.

Wir fordern:

  • Es muss sichergestellt werden, dass § 129 StGB nicht gegen friedliche Protestierende angewandt wird.
  • Das Justizministerium muss kriminalisierende Aussagen und Forderungen nach Strafverfolgung nach § 129 StGB unterlassen und sicherstellen, dass Protestierende nicht mehr kriminalisiert werden.
  • Das Justizministerium muss endlich einen Reformvorschlag vorlegen, der verhindert, dass § 129 StGB gegen politischen Protest benutzt wird.

Le 6 mars 2024, le tribunal municipal de Koroliov, dans la région de Moscou, a condamné Roman Ivanov pour « dissémination délibérée de fausses informations sur les forces armées russes » (article 207.3 du Code pénal russe), en raison de publications sur sa chaîne Telegram personnelle, évoquant l’homicide de civil·e·s à Boutcha et d’autres crimes de guerre présumés commis par les forces russes.

S’adressant à la cour, Roman Ivanov a prononcé ses derniers mots en s’agenouillant et a demandé pardon au peuple d’Ukraine : « Je souhaite demander pardon à tous les Ukrainiens à qui notre pays a causé de la souffrance. » En février 2023, une autre journaliste de RusNews, Maria Ponomarenko, avait été condamnée à six ans d’emprisonnement pour des accusations similaires.

Since last Friday the occupied Gaza Strip has been plunged into a communications blackout for the ninth time since the war began.

در بیانیه قبلی سازمان عفو بین‌الملل، وکیل جواد روحی در دادگاه تاکید کرده بود که این ویدئو ثابت نمی‌کند که او در تحریک یا مشارکت در آتش‌سوزی گسترده دست داشته و «اعترافات» او تحت فشار و با اجبار به دست آمده است و صدور احکام اعدام برای چنین جرایمی، آشکارا «حق حیات» را بر اساس «قوانین بین‌المللی» نقض می‌کند.

Migration: Europe’s Complicity in Massive Human Rights Violations

These human tragedies are playing out at Europe's land and sea borders on a daily basis. The first quarter of this year marked the deadliest in the central #Mediterranean in six years, say humanitarian organisations in a joint statement.

Make no mistake: European States are complicit in the death of thousands and thousands of human beings on their shores, land borders and at home. The massive drowning of hundreds of migrants close to Greece shores on 14 June is just a new chapter in Europe’s long series of continued violations of all international human rights laws.

So far, 10 worldwide known humanitarian organisations have strongly reacted, in a joint denunciation statement, asking the European Union (EU) to ‘end rights violations at Europe’s borders.’

In their Joint NGO statement: The EU must not be complicit, launched on 16 June, organisations like Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, OXFAM and Save the Children, among others, warned that once again, dozens of lives have been lost at Europe’s borders “due to the EU’s failure to allow people seeking protection to reach Europe safely.”

Golrokh Ebrahimi, one of the brave Iranian women fighting for social justice and equality, has denied the proposal from the government for a retrial and possibility to receive Amnesty.

Ms. Ebrahimi is one of the strong activists inside Iran who has been fighting for years against the gender apartheid in the country and for respect of basic human rights of all citizens.

She has received several prizes from European women and human rights activists, but the CIA backed opposition "leaders" in US and UK do not promote her case as much since she had openly distanced herself from their actions and calling Reza Pahlavi, the desperate son of former shah of Iran, as the future leader of Iran.

Twenty-three years ago this week, the #Khiam detention center in the South of Lebanon was liberated from Israeli occupation.

The facility was used by Israeli occupation forces until they withdrew from Lebanon in 2000. Human rights organizations ranging from #Amnesty International to #HumanRightsWatch reported the use of #torture and other serious human rights abuses at the facility.

World-renowned British journalist Robert Fisk reported that "the sadists of Khiam used to electrocute the penises of their prisoners and throw water over their bodies before plunging electrodes into their chests, and kept them in pitch-black, solitary confinement for months. For many years, the Israelis even banned the #RedCross from visiting their foul prison. All the torturers fled across the border into Israel when the Israeli army retreated under fire from #Lebanon...”

De reden voor de huidige onvrede over de leiding in Londen is een onthulling in The New York Times van 28 april. Daaruit blijkt dat het bestuur een kritisch onderzoek over een omstreden publicatie van Amnesty geheim wilde houden. Voor een organisatie die regeringen oproept tot transparantie en bestuurlijke integriteit is de kwestie extra pijnlijk.

De zaak begon met een uitgebreid persbericht van 4 augustus 2022. In vijf pagina’s claimde Amnesty dat het Oekraïense leger de eigen burgers onnodig in gevaar brengt door scholen en ziekenhuizen te gebruiken als militaire bases, en door aanvallen op het Russische leger te lanceren vanuit locaties waar veel burgers wonen. Civiele gebouwen worden daardoor militaire doelen. (...)

Er was geen onderliggend onderzoek, alleen het persbericht. De Oekraïense afdeling van Amnesty was niet geraadpleegd, het wederhoor bij de Oekraïense regering was zeer beperkt. (...)

Een week later kondigde Amnesty een onderzoek door onafhankelijke experts aan.

Amnesty Nederland vroeg sindsdien meerdere keren aan het bestuur in Londen om dit onderzoek te delen met de nationale afdelingen. Dat gebeurde niet. (...)

En staat Amnesty nog steeds achter het persbericht? Het antwoord is ontwijkend: „We werken er aan om de lessen uit het rapport van de experts in onze toekomstige werkwijze te integreren.”

Het onderzoek van vijf experts op het gebied van humanitair oorlogsrecht laat weinig heel van Amnesty’s beschuldigingen. (...)

De Oekraïne-kwestie is de tweede zaak in korte tijd waarmee Amnesty het Kremlin in de kaart speelt. In februari 2021 ontnam Amnesty oppositiepoliticus Aleksej Navalny de status van gewetensgevangene omdat hij ooit geweld zou hebben gepropageerd. In mei 2021 werd dat besluit teruggedraaid, met excuses aan Navalny. Anders dan in die zaak zijn er bij het persbericht over het Oekraïense leger geen aanwijzingen dat Russische propaganda een rol heeft gespeeld. Een ander verschil is dat de Navalny-fout snel werd hersteld, terwijl de Oekraïne-misser is verhuld en daardoor groter wordt.

Afgelopen augustus publiceerde Amnesty International een even explosieve als twijfelachtige verklaring waarin Oekraïne ervan werd beschuldigd de eigen burgers in gevaar te brengen. Het Oekraïense leger zou – in strijd met het oorlogsrecht – opereren vanuit civiele locaties, waaronder bewoond gebied, scholen en ziekenhuizen. Daardoor werden die locaties doelwit van Russische aanvallen, met dodelijke slachtoffers als gevolg. (...)

Amnesty kreeg van alle kanten kritiek, behalve van Moskou, en na aanvankelijk de poot stijf te hebben gehouden beloofde de organisatie een extern onderzoek te laten instellen. (...)

Direct ging ik op zoek naar de uitkomst van het externe onderzoek, vreemd dat ik dat gemist had. Maar ik vond niets, noch bij Amnesty zelf, noch elders. (...) Het was de New York Times die helderheid bracht: er was een rapport, het was zeer kritisch op Amnesty en het was onder het tapijt geschoven. (...)

Zulk gedrag verwacht je van bedrijven die met hun rug naar de samenleving staan, en dan nog is het kortzichtig en werkt het averechts. Van een mensenrechtenorganisatie verwacht je openheid, ook als het pijnlijk is. En dat is het: de onderzoekers, verbonden aan vijf verschillende universiteiten, oordelen dat Amnesty’s aanklacht op cruciale punten ‘onvoldoende gegrond’ was. (...)

Dat Amnesty er voor koos – ondanks fel protest van haar eigen Oekraïense afdeling – te spreken over een ‘patroon’ van overtredingen door het Oekraïense leger, wekte volgens de onderzoekers onbedoeld de suggestie dat Oekraïne verantwoordelijk was voor de eigen burgerdoden, in plaats van de Russen, die opzettelijk burgerdoelen onder vuur namen. En nog steeds nemen.

Wat nu? Ik moet mijn lidmaatschap opzeggen, het is niet anders. Tenzij Amnesty alsnog schoon schip maakt.
