#omemo
This is what the #police think about our #children đ±
Some advice for the really cool kids:
- install #Kali on your #computer - delete #Windows
- encrypt your HD and have a kill switch.
- don't use #Discord there are better #FLOSS alternatives like #xmpp with #Omemo, #matrix, #tox and others...
- #Pineapple is too expensive. Build it on your own with a #RaspberryPi.
- Hack the WiFi of authorities and leak the data anonymously on the darknet. Don't use this to stalk your ex girl friend! Public data should be public but respect the #privacy of normal people.
- learn #Python and write your own scripts.
- try to be a white hat. If you need money use bug bounty. Please don't sell exploits to our enemies like the secret service.
- build a network. You don't have to be a lonely wolf. If things are to big for you send them with a good explanation to organisations like EFF, Wikileaks, CCC, cryptome.org, The Intercept, La Quadrature du Net (LQDN),...
- Hack the planet and have fun. Teach others at your local hacker space.

Messagerie XMPP. (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol)
https://www.chapril.org/XMPP.html
XMPP : Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol
https://www.chapril.org/XMPP.html :

If any of you have been on the fence about getting a Jabber account, now is literally the best time in Jabbers history to do it. The servers are better than ever, the clients and features are better than ever, OMEMO encryption has made shit so much more easy and secure. Android and iOS clients exist and are great. Jabber is in the best place it's ever been in right now.
There are even more servers than ever out there. I'll just list a few off the top of my head here:
https://xmpp.is/about/server/
https://jabber.hot-chilli.net/
https://404.city/
https://lain.church/
https://creep.im/
You can find more servers and see which have the best crypto here:
https://xmpp.net/directory.php
https://compliance.conversations.im/
You can look for conference rooms here:
https://search.jabber.network/rooms/1
Here are some clients:
https://gajim.org/download/
https://github.com/dino/dino/wiki/Distribution-Packages
https://f-droid.org/en/packages/eu.siacs.conversations/
Go nuts. Now's the time.

In no particular order, web sites like OpenStreetMap, Wikipedia, Archive.Org, Sci-Hub, tools like I2P, Tor, IRC, GPG, OMEMO, OTR, and open and federated protocols like Jabber, Email, Diaspora and ActivityPub are the most important projects on the internet and should be protected and exalted.
#openstreetmap #osm #android #wikipedia #wiki #archive #archive.org #scihub #sci-hub #diaspora #email #jabber #xmpp #activitypub #mastodon #email #freesoftware #internet #thefederation #irc #gpg #pgp #omemo #otr
Siehe hier: https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/p/uwpx/9n2s5v8hmvlm
Progress note (W14) is out.

The 0.1 release of this nice #XMPP #client.
Have a look at the announcement
Feaures:
- #OMEMO and OpenPGP
- send messages to individuals as well as to private group chats and public channels.
- sharing images and other files
- advanced message search globally or within one conversation
You can very easely compile it by yourself: https://github.com/dino/dino/wiki/Build#dependencies
Like it mention here, I for examble have to set the : --with-libsignal-in-tree
flag for my build.
Here is the first progress note of the year (W01) available at https://www.goffi.org/b/66adNNNbFp84CWFzyvGpmK/progress-note
It is talking again about OMEMO (with full support one2one, files + MUC now available in SĂ T), and UX on Android.

Why we don't publish at the Play Store
We got some requests recently, asking, why we do not publish #dandelion at the #GooglePlay.
So here are our main reasons, why we don't plan to uploadthe app there currently.
First of all, we do not comply with Googles terms of service. Having to pay ~25⏠to Google who did not write the app and does not respect your freedom nor your privacy on its platforms (Youtube, GMail...) just doesn't feel right.
We believe, that our userbase is well aware of the privacy concerns that come with using Google's Services, so many diaspora* users actually get their apps through F-Droid (which is great).
Second, if a user that does not know about F-Droid yet wants to use dandelion* and searches for it, they'll hopefully find out about the F-Droid project and may get in touch with free software that way.
So by not publishing to Google Play, we hope to get more people to understand, use and appreciate free and open source software.
If you find dandelion* on the Play Store, please be aware, that you likely just found a version built by someone else. We can not guarantee that such a version has not been tampered with in terms of #malware, so we highly discourage you to use it.
It should be clear, that we'll never charge you any money for using, downloading, sharing or modifying the app.
Note also, that we won't support those versions.
If you want to dontate to the project to support the developers, and keep them motivated, please feel free to contact us :D
As always, you can help us by submitting bug reports, code and/or translations on github and crowdin.
PS: We maintainers (@gsantner and @vanitasvitae) will soon have more time again to actively work on the app.
The last weeks we were distracted with educational work, so here is some background information:
@gsantner was working on another FLOSS app called Froody, which lets you share (naturally growing) food and other things with others. He hopes to enable people to live a more sustainable life. The main idea is to share to and help other people by e.g. sharing pears, which would rot anyway if unused.Everything is built with international use in mind.
The app is available at https://github.com/froodyapp/froody-android, and is currently available in #English, #German and #Japanese. Also translatable on Crowdin.
He also writes his bachlor thesis about Open Source and Android, which will be completed in summer and likely to be released in an appropiate free license.
@vanitasvitae is writing his bachelor thesis about an #OMEMO module for #Smack, a #XMPP library used by many free messengers like #Jitsi or #Kontalk.
He hopes to enable those messengers to #encrypt your communication end-to-end using the OMEMO protocol introduced by #conversations.
He'll also attend #FOSDEM in #brussels by the way, so if you are there you might meet him and chat a little ;)
Sharing welcome!
