Russian air defense sufficient on front lines, in Crimea but not on Russian soil

"Russian air defense is thinning out. They filled the front line and Crimea with it (air defense). But you see that the Russian territory is not so filled with air defense equipment," Ihnat told Focus's journalist.

"Moscow, Saint Petersburg, (Russian dictator Vladimir) Putin's bunkers will be more or less protected, but Ukrainian-made drones reach Moscow, St. Petersburg, and oil depots in other cities. This is a very good sign."

Reports of drone attacks against military targets on Russian soil have increased in recent months. Kyiv usually doesn't officially comment on such strikes.

According to the new law, during war or mobilization, all draft dodgers will face at least 5 years in prison. The mobilized person must appear no later than within six hours from the receipt of the summons marked “immediately.”

Military conscription of 230,000 people will soon begin in Poland. Men born in 2005 are already eligible for the prize.

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has actually confirmed information that he influenced the Ukrainian government's decision to break off peace talks in the spring of 2022.

Johnson said that after the meeting of representatives of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul in 2022, he held talks with Ukrainian President #Zelensky, during which he expressed his concern about the possibility of an agreement between #Moscow and #Kiev.

According to Johnson, he also stressed that the UK was "a thousand per cent" ready to help Ukraine.

Interestingly, in the same interview, the former Prime Minister said that he had nothing to do with the disruption of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in spring 2022.

Johnson said he thought the information about his involvement was "complete nonsense" and "Russian propaganda".

Putin revokes Russia’s ratification of nuclear test ban treaty

The United States and #Russia presented two separate resolutions in the #UN Security Council on the war in #Gaza in which they first condemned the actions carried out by #Hamas.

The #US resolution obtained the double veto of Russia and #China, among other reasons, by not requesting an immediate and lasting humanitarian #ceasefire, while the Russian resolution, which did not recognize the right to self-defense of States, did not achieve the necessary votes.

The American document reaffirmed “the inherent right of all States to individual and collective self-defense,” although taking into account “international law.” It also called for “humanitarian pauses,” to allow full, rapid, safe and unhindered humanitarian access.

The Russian resolution called for “an immediate, lasting and fully respected humanitarian ceasefire.”
This resolution also “unequivocally condemned the indiscriminate attacks against civilians and civilian objects in the Gaza Strip that resulted in civilian casualties,” including “the atrocious attack on Al-Ahli #Hospital on October 17” and the perpetrated “against the Orthodox #Church of Saint Porphyry” on October 19.
#Moscow also condemned the siege of the Strip imposed by Israel.

In #Kazakhstan, the #NATO Centre for Peacekeeping Operations has recently commenced its activities, graced by the presence of the #US Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Daniel Rosenblum, at the opening ceremony.

Kazakh military personnel are set to undergo training at the centre, aligning with NATO standards. In contrast to former president #Nazarbayev’s cautious approach, Tokayev appears to be moving quickly. The rationale behind his decision to delve into NATO standards remains enigmatic. However, it appears he perceives #Moscow's waning influence in the post-Soviet arena and aims to capitalise on this evolving situation.

Considering the criteria defining the adversaries within NATO standards and drawing lessons from the Ukrainian conflict, it becomes evident that an increased NATO presence always escalates tensions in the region. It's noteworthy that the Russia-Kazakhstan border spans a vast 7,600 km. Of Kazakhstan's 19 million inhabitants, 13 million are Kazakh and the rest are mainly of Russian cultural background.

It is also worth noting that Kazakhstan and NATO have continued to co-operate under the Partnership for Peace Initiative and the so-called bilateral military cooperation programme established in 1994.
