Jewish Organizations Around the Globe Condemn German Parliamentary Resolution on Antisemitism

Very clear words on this resolution that I found on the site of Jüdische Stimme für gerechten Frieden in Nahost, the German section of European Jews for a Just Peace.

I go with every single word of this. Israel's politics need to be named for what they are. Standing up for the rights of an oppressed people is not antisemitic, just because the oppressor happens to be Jewish.

I'm deeply concerned about how German society and politics have changed over the last five years, wondering if the country I'm citizen of is still or has ever been the free society, standing for Human Rights, that it claims to be.

The most important measures in the current militarisation of society are the Bundeswehr's massive recruitment campaign and the announced partial reactivation of compulsory military service. This campaign is not only about eliminating the Bundeswehr's ‘personnel shortage’, but also about turning the troops back into the ‘school of the nation’. These are serious violations of children's rights and grave breaches of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child is also calling for a recruitment age of over 18 in order to prevent the recruitment of child soldiers worldwide. The UN Committee has been calling on the German government to raise the recruitment age to 18 since 2008. However, the German government has so far ignored this call, citing an exemption for state armies in an additional protocol to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

I don't use #Facebook.
I no longer use #Microsoft, wherever I can.
I use alternatives to #Google, when possible.
There are more corporations'/company's products,which I leave aside.
I still use #Android, but it's poisoned.
I really liked #Linux but the magic is fading.

I'm glad I still can enjoy remaining uncontrolled, spheres. Wishing that the coming years are not more painful as they are. However, the chances are that coming times bring out more of what I wished, used or thought to be different.

Seems the only remaining way is seeing what is as what it is, not falling into bias, and connecting with once inner, universal or whatever source, which can provide lasting #peace .

#EIRENE ( #Irene) was the #goddess of #peace and the season of #spring.

She was one of the three Horai (Horae), deities of the seasons and keepers of the gates of heaven. Her sisters were Eunomia (Good Order) and Dike (Justice).

Eirene's name is the Greek word for peace (eirênê) but it is also closely connected with the word for spring (eiar, eiarinos). In #ancient #Greece late spring was the traditional campaign season, the time when peace was most at risk.

Eirene was probably identified with the Hora Thallo (Green Shoots), whose name Hesiod uses as an epithet for Eirene in the Theogony. Her opposite number was Polemos (War).

In classical art the goddess usually appears in the company of her two sister Horai bearing the fruits of the seasons. Statues of the goddess often depict her as a maiden holding the infant Ploutos (Plutus) (Wealth) in her arms. In this guise she was identified with the Demeter and Tykhe (Tyche), the goddesses of agricultural bounty.

For peace in Ukraine and the Middle East

“Mr. President: You are not welcome until you take your weapons out of Germany.
We don't want Dark Eagles and nuclear weapons. Stop your wars.”

With these words, US President Biden was disinvited last night before his visit to Germany began. Activists from Aktion Freiheit statt Angst e.V. were also present when several hundred Berliners gathered at the Brandenburg Gate under the slogan “Not Welcome Mr. President”.

The press release on the Friko Berlin event states:

Peace Coordination Berlin is calling for a protest against US President Biden's visit to Berlin on Thursday, October 17. Our protest is directed against the planned deployment of US medium-range missiles, the modernization of US nuclear weapons and their storage in Germany, the aggressive war policy of the USA towards Russia and the refusal of any diplomatic solutions as well as the open preparation of a war against China. Added to this is the current escalation in West Asia (Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen).

Jutta Kausch-Henken from the Berlin Peace Coordination says: “The USA has been supporting the genocide in Gaza for a year and is backing the brutal, deadly invasion of Lebanon. Even a war with Iran is not being ruled out and is possibly already being prepared behind closed doors. We are taking to the streets to protest against the German government's active support for this criminal US policy all over the world and the German government's silence on Israel's war crimes.”

That is why we are also supporting the protest on October 18 by an alliance of humanitarian and peace movement groups who have called for a rally in front of the Federal Chancellery from 5 - 7 p.m. under the title “For a just peace in Palestine and Israel”.
