Forschungsprojekt statt Suche nach Waffendieben
Bereits im Jahr 2020 hatte die Künstlergruppe des Zentrum für politische Schönheit (ZPS) eine Kampagne für die Suche nach den von Rechtsextremisten gestohlenen Waffen der Bundeswehr ins Leben gerufen. Die Bundeswehr war "not amused", stufte die Aktion als „feindliche Propaganda“ ein und ließ die Macher der Aktion überwachen.
Wie netzpolitik.org berichtet, hat das Zentrum Operative Kommunikation der Bundeswehr (ZOpKomBw) ihre Erkenntnisse zu der Aktion innerhalb eines „Concept Development and Experimentation (CD&E) Forschungsvorhabens“ mit dem Namen „Propaganda Awareness“ in einer Fallstudie ausgewertet. Dazu hat die Bundeswehr die Aktionskünstler:innen systematisch beobachtet „und jeden Schritt der Gruppe im Internet analysiert“, wie der Business Insider schreibt.
Eine Kleine Anfrage der Linkspartei (PDF) dazu ergab allerdings, dass die Bundeswehr keine direkte Personenüberwachung durchgeführt hat, sondern lediglich öffentlich zugängliche Daten genutzt habe. Ob die Bundeswehr mit ihrer „Abwehr“ gegen zivilgesellschaftliche Gruppen im Inland vorgehen darf, wäre allerdings ein Frage an Grundrechtsexperten. Die Künstler vom ZPS halten das Vorgehen für skandalös.
