We utilized ChatGPT to generate abstracts, introductions, and references for three mentioned scientific papers based on the title, keywords, journal style and characteristics of each author.

...

In Test 1 and Test 3, which were referred to as less familiar and moderately familiar subjects, respectively, only four out of 13 specialist reviewers (31%) correctly identified the AI-generated abstracts (initial assessment stage).

GDP Per Capita & National Mean IQ for 240 Countries & Dependencies, using Pearson Sample Correlation Coefficient, 2023.

This demonstrates that as mean IQ goes down, GDP Per Capita also goes down, or conversely, as mean IQ goes UP, GDP Per Capita also goes up, with a 0.63 (strong) correlation.

This is in relationship to the graph provided at the following link: https://iviv.hu/posts/1527586

Correlative Trend Between GDP Per Capita & National Mean IQ for 240 Countries and Dependencies, 2023.

Logic suggests that the higher the mean IQ a people-group exhibits, the more capable they will be to discover, invent, implement, maintain, grow & iterate the complex, interacting societal systems that support economic development & wealth creation.

Single brain scan can diagnose Alzheimer’s disease | Imperial News | Imperial College London

A single MRI scan of the brain could be enough to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease, according to new research by Imperial College London.
The research uses machine learning technology to look at structural features within the brain, including in regions not previously associated with Alzheimer’s. The advantage of the technique is its simplicity and the fact that it can identify the disease at an early stage when it can be very difficult to diagnose.

'Rare condition gives me TV static in my vision' | BBC News

For as long as Paris Haigh can remember she's seen tiny flickering dots in her vision.
The dots look like TV static, and they're a constant presence in her life.
The 19-year-old can see them when she goes shopping. They're with her when she studies at college. She can even see the dots when she closes her eyes.
Paris, from East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire, assumed for many years that everyone else could see them too.
When she discovered this wasn't the case, she put it down to her autism and sensory processing disorder - a condition which causes her senses to be especially sensitive.
She then went from thinking that everyone could see the dots to wondering if she was the only one in the world who could.
But then Paris heard about "visual snow" - a little-known neurological condition which causes visual and non-visual symptoms.

“No Such Thing as a Straight Photograph”: Computational Photography Pioneer | PetaPixel

Computational photography pioneer Marc Levoy argues “straight photography,” an idea popularized by Ansel Adams, is a myth.
Levoy, an Adobe VP and Fellow, was recently elected to the National Academy of Engineering and was recognized for his work in computer graphics and digital/computational photography. In a recent interview with Adobe, Levoy was asked for his thoughts on the photography industry and one major aspect of it stood out: his argument that the concept of straight photography does not actually exist.

The concept doesn't exist? I think they mean that the concept has no real-world referent. Of course, Levoy is right, and for all of the reasons he states. But neurology goes one step further and gets straight to the point. Some (many) photographers say, "That photo doesn't look like reality". But our brains construct our reality from the data input via our senses. And when we process our photos to look "the way I remember it", our brains reconstruct that memory from the stored result of that input data. Computational photography is just an AI doing the same thing.

Brain surgeons and rocket scientists no brighter than the rest of us, study finds | Neuroscience | The Guardian

It may not be rocket science, but researchers have found aerospace engineers and brain surgeons are not necessarily brighter than the general population.

So, what did they take away from this research?

“Essentially what we think it shows is that everyone has a range of skills, some people are better at some things and other people are better at other things"

So, this kind of research isn't exactly rocket science, then? 😉

Early baby therapy could reduce autism diagnoses | BBC News

Training parents how to respond to babies showing early signs of autism could reduce by two-thirds the number of three-year-olds meeting the criteria for diagnosis, a small study suggests.

This could make a big difference. However...

But another charity, the National Autistic Society, said the study had a number of limitations.
"Autism is not a disease and not something that should be cured or lessened," head of policy Tim Nicholls said.

No, it's not a disease. It's a neurological condition, and when people alter their behaviour around people with that condition, life can be a lot easier for them.

Examining Social Media’s Impact on Landscape and Nature Photography | PetaPixel

As a landscape and nature photographer with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, I often enjoy trying to blend the two disciplines to better understand the human experience as it relates to photography. One subject that particularly intrigues me is the impact of social media on photography and photographers.

An interesting take on the psychology (and neurology) behind the sharing of photos on social media.

Ultimately, he wants to emphasise that emotional blindness does not make one unkind, or selfish. “It may be hard to believe, but it is possible for someone to be cut off completely from the emotions and imagination that are such a big part of what makes us humans,” he says. “And that a person can be cut off from emotions without being heartless, or a psychopath.”

I even think, that people who can't feel emotions, are much less selfish, than those who can. Isn't selfishness something strongly connected to our feelings towards ourselves?!
